Quick Start Guide
Getting Started and Setup
Welcome to your new Philips Clock Radio. This guide will help you set it up quickly.
Unpacking and Power: The package includes the Philips Clock Radio unit, a power adapter, and a power cable. Connect the power cable to the 'DC IN' port on the back of the clock radio and plug the adapter into a wall outlet. The device also has a compartment for backup batteries (not included) to maintain time and alarm settings during power outages.
Safety and Disposal: Please observe the general safety icons provided. These indicate precautions such as avoiding exposure to moisture, heat, and unauthorized opening of the device, as well as proper disposal methods.
Setting the Time
Follow these steps to set the current time:
- Press and hold the SET TIME button. The clock display will flash '12:00'.
- Use the HR button to adjust the hour. For example, press 'HR' until '6:00' is displayed.
- Use the MIN button to adjust the minute. For example, press 'MIN' until '6:12' is displayed.
- Press the SET TIME button again to confirm the time. The display will show the set time, '6:12'.
Setting Alarms
You can set up to two alarms (AL1 and AL2).
- To set an alarm, press the AL1 button. The display will show the current alarm time (e.g., '7:30') and an 'AL1 FM' indicator.
- Use the HR button to set the desired alarm hour.
- Use the MIN button to set the desired alarm minute.
- Press the AL1 button again to save the alarm setting. The 'AL1' indicator will remain lit on the display.
- Repeat the process for Alarm 2 (AL2) using the AL2 button.
Radio Operation
Tune into your favorite radio stations:
- To tune the radio, press the TUN button to scan for stations or use the TUN buttons to manually adjust the frequency (e.g., tuning to '95.8').
- To store a station, press the PRESET button and then use the HR or MIN buttons to select a preset number.
- You can recall preset stations using the same buttons.
Snooze and Sleep Functions
- Snooze: When the alarm sounds, press the SNOOZE button to temporarily silence it. The alarm will resume after a set period, indicated by a countdown on the display (e.g., '9 min').
- Sleep Timer: To fall asleep to music, press the SLEEP button to set a sleep timer. The display will show the selected duration (e.g., '90 min').
- 24-Hour Format: The clock can display time in either 12-hour or 24-hour format, indicated by a '24H' icon.
