Introduction

Infrared heating pads are unlike standard heating pads. They do not get red hot to the touch. Instead, they use Far Infrared Ray (FIR) heat that penetrates up to 3 inches into bone and muscle to melt away chronic pain. Since they can be used at lower overall temperatures, they are ideal for those with sensitive skin.

The Sharper Image Infrared Heating Pad is designed to provide temporary pain relief from arthritis, carpal tunnel, joint stiffness, cramps, sports injuries, and more by utilizing a safer, low DC voltage (12V) design instead of traditional AC heating pads (110V). Carbon fiber heating elements are the source of FIR.

What is FIR?

Far Infrared Rays (FIR) are electromagnetic waves in the portion of the spectrum just beyond visible light. Also produced by the sun, FIR provides the targeted area with deep, penetrating heat through direct energy conversion. FIR can help to improve blood circulation by expanding capillaries, as well as relieve nerve tension and relax muscle spasms.

The Sharper Image Infrared Heating Pad emits wavelengths of greater than 3,000 nanometers, qualifying as FIR. Perfect as an all-purpose heating pad, the Infrared Heating Pad also doubles as a foot warmer, offering therapeutic FIR heat over a 27" x 35" surface.

How to Use

1. Connect the male end of the power supply into the female end on the heating pad. Plug the power supply into an AC outlet.
2. Press and hold the power button on the heating pad for three seconds. The default setting is High heat and will display a red light.
3. Press the power button again to change the heat setting.
4. To turn off the Infrared Heating Pad, press and hold the power button for three seconds or until the LED light turns off. For safety, the power will turn off automatically within 1 hour in every setting.

NOTE: Do not turn on heating pad while folded.

NOTE: Unplug the power supply from the AC outlet when not in use.

Cleaning and Maintenance

• Spot cleaning recommended
• Hang dry
• Do not iron
• Do not use bleach or cleaning solvents
• Do not twist or wring

Safety Warnings

• Do not use on open wounds, sensitive skin areas, or in the presence of poor circulation.
• Check skin frequently during use to ensure rashes or burns are not developing.
• Shut off the power if you experience any discomfort.
• The unattended use of this product by children or incapacitated persons may be dangerous.
• Consult your physician before use if you are pregnant or if pain persists.

• The Infrared Heating Pad is designed to be placed on top of your body (back/legs/feet).
• DO NOT lay on the Infrared Heating Pad.
• DO NOT sit on the Infrared Heating Pad.
• DO NOT place any blankets or pillows on top of the Infrared Heating Pad.
• DO NOT leave the Infrared Heating Pad running unattended.
• DO NOT use this product around sinks, tubs, pools, or any wet area.
• DO NOT sleep with the Infrared Heating Pad. It is not intended to be used as an electric blanket.
• If this product or the power cable(s) appear to be damaged or frayed, do not use. Contact Sharper Image Customer Service immediately.
• Use only the power cable(s) that came with this device. Do not use any other power cables. If your power cable is lost or damaged, contact Sharper Image Customer Service immediately.
• Failure to comply with all Safety Warnings in this guide may result in fire, damage, or injury.
