The Maonocaster E2 Gen2 is an upgraded version of the popular Maonocaster E2 podcast and streaming audio console. It features dual XLR microphone inputs with dedicated controls for two-person recording, a direct monitor switch, and two mute buttons to enhance user experience and streamline workflows. The E2 Gen2 supports Bluetooth, AUX-In, and instrument inputs for background music, along with eight programmable soundpads to boost creativity in content creation. It is designed for podcasters, streamers, musicians, and content creators.

- XLR Input 2 (Microphone and Instrument Input) and High-Z Switch: Accepts XLR microphone or 1/4" (6.35mm) plug instrument input. Requires +48V phantom power for condenser microphones or the High-Z switch for instrument-level devices.
- AUX-In: Connect external audio sources for background music via a 3.5mm TRS to TRS audio cable.
- 3.5mm Line Out: Connect to a powered speaker or other audio device using a 3.5mm TRS to TRS cable.
- 3.5mm TRRS Stream Out: Connects to a smartphone with a headphone jack for recording or streaming using a 3.5mm TRRS to TRRS cable.
- USB-C Data: Supports data transfer with PC and mobile devices. Requires UAC protocol support on mobile devices. Can charge some smartphone models when connected to external power.
- DC ⎓5V Interface: For power supply and charging. Use a 5V ⎓2A power adapter.
- XLR Input Gain Knob, Fader, and Mute: Control input gain and volume level. The level meter indicates signal level, with red indicating peaking (potential distortion).
- 48V Phantom Power Switch: Provides power for condenser microphones. Use with caution as it can damage some microphones if not needed.
- Equalizer (EQ): Adjusts frequency response for microphone and instrument inputs.
- Music Level: Controls the volume of audio input from AUX-In and Bluetooth sources.

- Sidechain: Automatically lowers background music volume when speaking to emphasize vocals.
- Sing Along: Removes vocals from music for karaoke or provides a music-only experience.
- Dry/Wet Recording: Selects between recording raw sound (Dry) or sound with effects (Wet).
- Loopback: Controls whether USB playback is sent back to the connected device for recording.
- Noise Reducer: Reduces background noise during recording (low/high/off).
- Backlight Switch: Turns button backlights on/off.
- Power On/Off: Turns the device on/off by holding the power button for 3 seconds.
- 3.5mm Headphone Jacks: Connect headphones or headsets. Headset microphone input is not supported.
Setup Guide
1. PC Connection
- Connect microphones, headphones, and other devices.
- Connect the Maonocaster to your computer using the provided USB-C cable. The computer will automatically detect and install drivers.
- Set "Maonocaster E2 Gen2" as the default output and input device in your computer's sound settings (Windows/macOS).
- Ensure "Maonocaster E2 Gen2" is selected as the default audio input and output device in your streaming or recording software.
Tip: For dual PC streaming, connect your gaming PC's audio output to the AUX port and your streaming PC via USB-C.
2. Smartphone or Tablet Connection
- Connect microphones, headphones, and other devices.
- Connect the Maonocaster to your smartphone or tablet using the provided USB-C to USB-C or 3.5mm TRRS to TRRS cable.
- Connect an external 5V ⎓2A power adapter for continuous power if needed.
Notes:
- Use official USB-C to headphone adapters if your phone lacks a 3.5mm jack.
- Mobile devices must support UAC protocol. Android phones need USB host (OTG) enabled. iPhones require Apple's Lightning to USB Camera Adapter.
- Some smartphones can be charged when the Maonocaster is connected to an external power adapter.
- You can record or stream to two smartphones using both USB-C and 3.5mm TRRS outputs.
3. Bluetooth Connection
- Turn on the Maonocaster; the Bluetooth button backlight will flash.
- On your phone, go to Bluetooth settings, search for "Maonocaster E2 Gen2", and connect.
- The Bluetooth light will become solid upon successful connection.
- Play music from your phone.
- Start recording or streaming with your preferred app.
Note: Bluetooth is for music playback only.
4. Charging
- Ensure the device is fully charged before first use.
- Connect the DC ⎓5V port to a 5V ⎓2A power adapter or power bank using a USB-C cable.
- Stop charging when the battery is full to prevent overcharging.
- Charge at least every three months to maintain battery health if not used frequently.
Troubleshooting
5.1 Cannot Boot
- Check if the console has power; charge and then turn on.
- Long press the power button for over three seconds to turn on.
5.2 No Sound from Accompaniment Music
- Check if the external audio source is connected to the accompaniment interface.
- Ensure the accompaniment volume control knob is turned on.
- Check the volume of the accompaniment device.
5.3 No Sound from Headphones
- Ensure the headphone cable is inserted into the correct interface (headset or sound).
- Check if the monitor fader is pushed up to increase volume.
5.4 No Sound from Microphone
- Verify the microphone is correctly connected to the microphone interface.
- Ensure the microphone knob is turned on and increase volume clockwise.
- Check if the monitor fader is pushed up.
- Confirm microphone compatibility with the console or consult Maono for recommended models.
5.5 No Sound in Live Broadcast
- Ensure the "recording" knob is on and increase volume clockwise.
- Set "Maonocaster E2 Gen2" as the default playback and recording device in your live broadcast software.
