Overview
The CAT CJ1000DCP is a versatile power station featuring a jump starter, a 120V AC outlet, USB charging ports, and a portable air compressor. It includes a backlit LCD screen for displaying battery status, voltage, and pressure readings.

LCD Screen Indicators
- Battery Status Icon: Displays the internal battery charge level (bars indicate charge).
- Digital Display: Shows voltage (V), pressure (PSI), or AC status.
- Voltage Indicator: Displays the battery voltage.
- Compressor Pressure Indicator: Shows the current pressure being measured or set.
- USB Icon: Indicates USB ports are active.
- Alarm Icon: Alerts the user to specific conditions.
- Reverse Polarity Icons: Indicate incorrect clamp connection.
- Clamp Icons: Represent the connection of the jump starter clamps.

Important Safety Instructions
General Warnings:
- Read all instructions before operating.
- This unit is designed for household use only.
- Avoid damp or wet locations; do not use in rain.
- Keep children away from the work area.
- Dress properly; avoid loose clothing or jewelry.
- Store idle appliances indoors in a dry, locked-up place.
- Do not abuse the cord; keep it from heat, oil, and sharp edges.
- Disconnect the appliance from the power supply when not in use, before servicing, and when changing accessories.
- Use a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) protected circuit.
- Stay alert and use common sense.
- Check for damaged parts; replace before further use.
- Do not operate near flammable materials, fumes, or gases.
- Never submerge the unit in water or expose to rain/snow.
- Disconnect from power source before maintenance or cleaning.
- If used in an enclosed area, the unit MUST be placed at least 18 inches (45.7 cm) above the floor due to sparking parts.
- Do not insert foreign objects into USB ports or the 120V AC outlet.
Specific Safety Instructions for Jump Starters:
- WARNING: BURST HAZARD: Only use for charging lead-acid batteries. Do not use for dry-cell batteries.
- WARNING: RISK OF EXPLOSIVE GASES: Batteries generate explosive gases. Never smoke or allow sparks/flames near batteries.
- CAUTION: NEVER attempt to jump-start or charge a frozen battery.
- Consult vehicle owner's manual for compatibility with external starting assistance.
- Remove personal metal items (rings, watches) when working with batteries.
- Avoid dropping metal tools onto the battery.
- Perform jump-start procedures in a safe, dry, well-ventilated area.
- Never let battery clamps touch each other or common metal conductors.
- Connect clamps correctly: Positive (red) to positive terminal, Negative (black) to vehicle chassis or engine block away from the battery.
- If clamps are connected incorrectly, the unit will sound an alarm and display reverse polarity icons. Disconnect and reconnect with correct polarity.
- Disconnect negative (black) cable first, then positive (red) cable (unless positive-grounded system).
- Protect battery terminals with tape before disposal.
Specific Safety Instructions for AC Power Outlet:
- The AC outlet provides a total power draw of 200W. Ensure appliance power consumption is below 200 watts.
- The output waveform is a modified sine wave, suitable for most AC loads.
- Protective features include low/high battery voltage, thermal shutdown, and overload/short circuit protection.
- If a fault occurs (low battery, high battery, thermal, overload, short circuit), the AC outlet will shut down automatically. The LCD will display fault indicators.
- To resolve faults: disconnect appliance, turn AC outlet off, check battery charge, allow unit to cool, ensure appliance is within rating, and check ventilation.
- Press the AC Power Button to turn the outlet on/off.
Specific Safety Instructions for USB Ports:
- Do not insert foreign objects into USB ports.
- Do not attach USB hubs or more than one device per USB port.
- The four USB ports provide a combined total of 6.2A (3.1A per pair of ports).
- The unit monitors for USB fault conditions (thermal, low/high battery voltage, overload, short circuit). If a fault occurs, USB ports shut down, and indicators flash blue.
- USB ports do not support data communication; they only provide power.
- Press the USB Power Button to turn USB ports on/off.
Specific Safety Instructions for Compressors:
- CAUTION: Never leave the compressor unattended.
- Do not operate continuously for longer than 10 minutes to prevent overheating. If longer operation is needed, turn off for 30 minutes between cycles.
- WARNING: BURST HAZARD: Do not exceed recommended pressure for items being inflated. Monitor pressure on LCD.
- Follow instructions on items to be inflated.
Operation
Jump Starting a Vehicle
- Turn off vehicle ignition and accessories. Place vehicle in Park and set emergency brake.
- Ensure jump-starter power switch is OFF.
- Remove clamps from storage tabs. Connect red clamp first, then black clamp.
- For Negative Grounded Systems (Most Common): Connect positive (+) red clamp to vehicle battery's positive terminal. Connect negative (–) black clamp to chassis or a solid, non-moving metal vehicle component away from the battery.
- For Positive Grounded Systems: Connect negative (–) black clamp to vehicle battery's negative terminal. Connect positive (+) red clamp to chassis or a solid, non-moving metal vehicle component away from the battery.
- When clamps are connected properly, the LCD will indicate readiness (Jump Starter Icon flashes).
- Turn the Jump-Starter Power Switch ON. The Engine Icon lights up. Crank the engine in 5-6 second bursts until it starts.
- Turn the Jump-Starter Power Switch OFF.
- Disconnect the negative (black) clamp first, then the positive (red) clamp.
Using the 120 Volt AC Power Outlet
- Press the AC Power Button to turn on the 120V AC Power Outlet. The LCD will display 'AC'.
- Plug the 120-volt AC plug from your appliance into the outlet.
- Turn on the appliance.
- Ensure the appliance's wattage does not exceed 200 watts.
- Press the AC Power Button again to turn off the outlet.
Using the USB Ports
- Press the USB Power Button to turn on all USB ports. The USB Power/Fault Indicators will light blue.
- Plug your USB-powered device into a USB port.
- Press the USB Power Button again to turn off the USB ports.
Using the Portable Compressor
- Screw the Sure Fit® nozzle onto the valve stem of the tire or item to be inflated.
- Press the Compressor Power Button. The LCD will display current pressure and allow setting desired pressure using +/- buttons (1-120 PSI).
- Press the Compressor Power Button again to begin inflation. The compressor icon will flash.
- The compressor will stop automatically when the set pressure is reached.
- Press the Compressor Power Button again to turn off the unit.
- Unscrew the nozzle.
- For items without valve stems, use the nozzle adapter.
Using the LED Area Light
- Press the Area Light Power Button to turn the light on.
- Press the button again to turn the light off.
Charging/Recharging
The unit is delivered partially charged and must be fully charged before first use (recommend 40 hours or until Battery Status Icon shows 4 solid bars).
Recharge the battery at least every 30 days and after each use to maintain battery life.
To charge:
- Lift the protective cover of the built-in 120 Volt AC Charger.
- Connect an extension cord (if needed) and plug into a standard 120-volt AC wall outlet.
- The LCD screen will indicate charging status.
- Charge for approximately 40 hours or until the Battery Status Icon shows 4 solid bars.
- Unplug the AC extension cord when charging is complete.
Troubleshooting
Problem: Unit will not charge
Possible Solution: Ensure the inverter power button is off. Ensure a suitable extension cord is properly connected. Ensure the unit is not in compressor mode. Ensure the jump-starter power switch is ON. Ensure proper polarity cable connection. Check that the unit has a full charge.
Problem: Unit fails to jump-start
Possible Solution: Ensure the AC power button is ON. Follow steps in the "120 AC Power Outlet" section. Ensure the appliance does not draw more than 200 watts. Check unit charge.
Problem: 120 Volt AC power outlet will not power appliance
Possible Solution: Ensure the AC power button is ON. Ensure proper appliance wattage (under 200W). Check unit charge.
Problem: USB power port will not power appliance
Possible Solution: Ensure the USB power button is ON. Ensure USB Power/Fault Indicators are solid blue. Check for USB fault conditions or device compatibility. Check unit charge.
Problem: LED area light does not come on
Possible Solution: Ensure the area light power button is ON. Check unit charge.
Problem: Portable compressor will not inflate
Possible Solution: Ensure the unit is not in Jump Starter mode. Ensure the compressor power button is ON. Ensure nozzle/adapter is securely attached. Allow compressor to cool if overheated. Check unit charge.
Care and Maintenance
All batteries lose energy over time. Recharge the battery at least every 30 days when not in use.
Do not submerge the unit in water. Clean exterior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth and mild detergent.
Periodically inspect adapters, connectors, and wires. Contact the manufacturer for replacement parts.
Battery Replacement/Disposal
The battery should last the unit's service life. For battery disposal, recycling is required. Follow local, state, and federal regulations. Protect exposed terminals with heavy-duty electrical tape before disposal to prevent shorting.
