Installing Your Hover-1 Go-Kart
For installation questions, contact Customer Service at www.hover-1.eu.
Ensure your Hover-1 Go-Kart is fully assembled before installing it onto your electric scooter. Refer to the "Assembling your Hover-1 Go-Kart" section if needed.
- Place the pedal mounts onto the footpad sensors of your self-balancing scooter, ensuring the front wheel faces forward. Center the pedal mounts on the footpad sensors as much as possible. Diagram Description: Illustration shows pedal mounts being placed onto the scooter's footpads, with text "SPACE EVENLY".
- Secure the Hover-1 Go-Kart to your self-balancing scooter using both adjustable straps with rubber protectors. Attach one end of each strap to the holes on the front of each pedal mount. Diagram Description: Illustration shows straps being attached to the front of the pedal mounts.
- Wrap one set of adjustable straps under your self-balancing scooter and attach the ends of the straps to the back of each pedal mount. The rubber protectors on the straps should be centered underneath the scooter, with side B facing the ground. Diagram Description: Illustration shows straps being wrapped under the scooter and attached to the rear of the pedal mounts, indicating strap sides A and B.
- WARNING: Do not over-tighten straps. Ensure the go-kart is secure. The foam pads must be attached to the bottom of the pedal mounts so the go-kart does not touch the footpad sensors. See diagram for correct fitting. Diagram Description: Close-up illustration showing correct strap and foam pad placement on the pedal mounts relative to the scooter's footpads.
- Your Hover-1 Go-Kart should now be properly installed onto your scooter. Diagram Description: Illustration of the correctly installed Hover-1 Go-Kart on a scooter.
Before Riding
Hover-1 Go-Kart Operation
It is crucial to fully understand all elements of your Hover-1 Go-Kart. Incorrect use can lead to a loss of control. Before riding at high speeds or outside a controlled environment, familiarize yourself with the various mechanisms.
Practice using the Hover-1 Go-Kart at slower speeds in a flat, open area before venturing into unfamiliar areas.
Pre-Ride Hover-1 Go-Kart Checklist
Ensure your Hover-1 Go-Kart and scooter are in proper working order before each ride. If any part malfunctions, contact Customer Support Centre.
- Ensure the scooter's battery is fully charged.
- Ensure all screws on the Hover-1 Go-Kart are tightly secured.
- Check that the scooter's tires are not worn.
- Ensure all connections on your scooter are maintained.
Safety Precautions
The primary rule in safe riding is common sense. A Hover-1 Go-Kart is vulnerable and does not offer the protection of a car (e.g., bumpers, airbags). It can tip over sideways or pitch you forward. It moves faster than a typical scooter.
Be aware of and comply with local laws regarding riding on public roads. Hover-1 is not liable for tickets or violations resulting from non-compliance.
- Always wear a helmet meeting CPSC or CE safety standards for protection against serious injury or death in an accident.
- Obey all local laws, traffic signals, and pedestrian cross-walks.
- When riding with others, ride single file in a straight line.
- Use a signaling device (e.g., bell, horn) to alert others of your approach.
- Ride defensively and anticipate the unexpected.
- Give pedestrians the right-of-way.
- Do not ride too close to pedestrians; alert them before passing.
- Slow down at intersections and check left and right before crossing.
- Obey all traffic signals.
- Use proper hand signals for turning and stopping (give signals 100ft before maneuvers and return both hands to handlebars before stopping/turning).
- Watch for cars pulling out into traffic and for opening car doors.
- Avoid potholes, drainage grates, and other hazards.
- Be cautious on soft surfaces like gravel, sand, or uneven terrain; ride slowly and avoid quick turns.
- Never hitch onto other vehicles.
- Do not "stunt" ride or race in traffic.
- Avoid weaving in and out of traffic or swerving excessively.
- A crash can cause stress fatigue in Hover-1 Go-Kart components, potentially leading to sudden failure, loss of control, or serious injury.
Caution: Riding in Wet Weather
Brakes are less effective in wet conditions. Avoid riding in wet weather as electronic components may be damaged by water exposure.
Important Usage Restrictions
- This product is forbidden on roads and highways unless local laws permit. Always wear a safety helmet, knee pads, elbow pads, and other protective gear.
- Check assembly pieces before every ride to prevent accidents.
- Avoid sharp turns, which can cause drifting, overturning, injury, or unit damage.
- Do not operate near swimming pools or other bodies of water.
- ⚠️ WARNING: To reduce the risk of injury, adult supervision is required. Never use in roadways, near motor vehicles, on or near steep inclines or steps, swimming pools, or other bodies of water. Always wear shoes and never allow more than one rider.
