Tips for Windows

  1. It supports up to 4 monitors if your laptop's USB-C port supports video output, otherwise only 2 monitors.
  2. To achieve Quad 4K@60Hz, the monitor and cable connecting to the dock must support 4K@60Hz resolution and refresh rate. The laptop must also adopt the 12th Generation Intel Core Processor series.
  3. When you download and install the DisplayLink driver, click on its icon and set it as "Launch automatically after login". This avoids needing to click the driver for subsequent logins.
  4. After your laptop sleeps or restarts, wait a moment. If the external monitor is not working properly, try opening the laptop lid. If it still doesn't work, the driver might not have opened. Click the DisplayLink driver icon to restart it.
  5. If the external monitor is flickering, your connection may be unstable. Try unplugging and replugging all your devices. If the monitor continues to flicker after reconnecting all cables, check the refresh rates and reduce them to 60Hz. Otherwise, the screen will keep flickering.
  6. For high-powered laptops: The included 120W power supply is adequate for most applications, as many PCs only require 40-65W via USB-C. However, due to the chip in some high-powered laptops, they may require a power supply greater than 120W. This can also be affected by the number of devices plugged in. If the included power supply does not meet the laptop's needs, connect the laptop's original power adapter for a more stable connection.
  7. If your PC is a Dell, HP, or ThinkPad laptop, you might receive a low charging warning. These laptops do not allow charging via third-party chargers in other ways. Using a lower-power charger than the laptop's included AC adapter will cause this warning. This is a limitation of the laptop, not the dock.

Tips for macOS users

  1. It ONLY supports 3 monitors (HDMI 3 and DP 3 cannot be used simultaneously).
  2. For convenience, you can add the DisplayLink app to open when your Mac starts:
    1. Click the Apple icon and select System Preferences from the menu.
    2. Select Users & Groups.
    3. Switch to the Login Items tab from the top bar.
    4. Click the plus sign [+] at the bottom of the page.
    5. Select the DisplayLink application or press the Command [⌘] key to select multiple applications from the window, and then click Add.
  3. For macOS, DisplayLink technology requires screen recording permission to display the screen. Follow these steps: Go to Privacy & Security > Screen Recording and allow "DisplayLink manager" to join.
  4. The DisplayLink app does not store or record any screen content. It only uses screen recording functionality to enable seamless extended display support.
  5. Since screen recording is active, you cannot watch any HDCP content (e.g., Netflix, Prime Video, iTunes, Hulu). The screen will appear black for such content.
  6. After your laptop sleeps or restarts, wait a moment. If the external monitor is not working properly, try opening the laptop lid. If it still doesn't work, the driver might not have opened. Click the DisplayLink driver icon to restart it.
  7. If the external monitor is flickering, your connection may be unstable. Try unplugging and replugging all your devices. If the monitor continues to flicker after reconnecting all cables, check the refresh rates and reduce them to 60Hz. Otherwise, the screen will keep flickering.
