Typical Installation

The ducting from this fan to the outside of the building has a strong effect on the air flow, noise and energy use of the fan. Use the shortest, straightest duct routing possible for best performance, and avoid installing the fan with smaller ducts than recommended. Insulation around the ducts can reduce energy loss and inhibit mold growth. Fans installed with existing ducts may not achieve their rated air flow.
NOTE: When installing ventilation ducts and air vents, ensure that the air vents are not directly exposed to rain, and install appropriate protective measures around the air vents, such as rain cover or waterproof cover, to reduce the possibility of rainwater directly entering the ventilation ducts.

PLANNING YOUR INSTALLATION
When installing the ventilation fan in a new construction site, install the main body of the FAN and duct work during the rough-in construction of the building. The Grille should be installed after the finished ceiling is in place.

NEW CONSTRUCTION
CAUTION: Make sure power is switched off at service panel before starting installation. Wear gloves during installing to help protect your hands from injury.

Loosen the short screw (BB) and remove the wire cover (D).

Place the fan housing next to a ceiling joist or wall stud. The fan housing should be level and perpendicular to the joist or stud. Secure fan housing (A) through mounting keyholes on bracket with 2 screws (AA).

3 Connect the wire Pull the house wires through the knockout of wire cover (D). Using the quick connectors to connect 120 V AC house wiring from the wall switch to the fan as shown in the wiring diagram on page 4.
Carefully push the connected wires back into the wiring compartment of the fan housing (A). Reattach the wire cover (D) and attach it firmly with short screw (BB).

CAUTION: If the electrical wires do not match the colors listed, you must determine what each house wire represents before connecting. You may need to consult an electrical contractor to determine safely.

NOTE: Attach the 1/2" ROMEX connector or 1/2" Flexible Metal Conduit connector (supplied by others) to wiring compartment cover and lock in place with 1/2" lock nut included with connector.

4 Connect the duct Connect a 3 in. circular duct (not supplied) and vent to the duct connector. Secure it with duct tape (not supplied) or a clamp (not supplied) to make the connection secure and air tight.
Insert the duct connector back to the fan housing (A) follow the guide slot from up to down. And it will be in place with a "click" sound. Please secure it tightly.

5 Select the light color Select desired LED color temperature by sliding the toggle switch on the back of the grille (B). Fasten down the waterproof cap after selected LED color temperature.
NOTE: This step only for BF1103. Make sure the waterproof cap installed well to prevent water from entering.
6 Finish the ceiling work After electrical and construction inspection is completed, the dry wall ceiling can be installed. Cut the ceiling hole with the cut-hole template (G) or the size 7.68" x 7.36" (195 x 187mm). Ceiling hole should be aligned with the inside edge of fan housing.
IMPORTANT: Cover and seal up all gaps with duct tape.

Operation
OPERATING THE LED VENTILATION FAN

Move the light wall switch to the ON position to turn the light on.
Move the light wall switch to the OFF position to turn the light off.
Move the fan wall switch to the ON position to turn the fan on.
Move the fan wall switch to the OFF position to turn the fan off.
To change to night light mode while using the main light, switch the light wall switch off then back on again within 3 seconds.
To change to main light mode while using night light mode, switch the light wall switch off then back on again within 3 seconds.

NOTE: Lighting operation only apply to BF1103.
CAUTION: If you connect the light and fan on two separate switches, light and fan will operate independently. If you connect the light and fan on one switch, the light and fan will operate as the same time, preventing the night light from being on without the fan. Do not connect the fan to a dimmer.

Troubleshooting

Problem The fan seems louder than it should.
The fan is not clearing the room.
Abnormal sound The light doesn't work

Possible Cause The CFM is too great.
The damper is damaged or not working properly.
The bend in the duct is too close to the fan discharge.
The fan discharge is reduced to fit a smaller duct. The fan housing is not attached securely. There is insufficient airflow intake in the room.
There is insufficient CFM.

Solution
Be sure the CFM rating on the fan matches the square footage of your room.
Check the damper to ensure it is opening and closing properly. If the damper has become damaged, please call Customer Service.
Be sure you do not have any sharp bends in the duct closer than 18 in. to the fan discharge.
Use the recommended size ducting to reduce fan noise.
Be sure the fan is securely attached to the ceiling joists.
Be sure a door or window is slightly ajar or opened to allow airflow. The fan is not able to draw air out of the room without enough airflow to draw from.
Be sure the CFM rating on the fan matches the requirements for your room size.
NOTE: Using a tissue is not the correct method for determining if the fan is operating properly. If the fan clears steam from the room within approximately 15 minutes of completing your shower, then the fan is operating properly.

The gap between the Housing and the ceiling is not sealed.

Please seal the gap with tape to prevent air leakage.

The finger latch is not open.

Remove the tape on the finger latch and check whether the finger latch can open and close normally. If not, contact customer service.

Foreign objects hit the wind wheel. Tap the grill to remove the foreign object.

1. Desconecte siempre la fuente de alimentación antes de reparar el ventilador, el motor o la caja de conexiones.

5 Termine el trabajo del techo Seleccione la temperatura de color del LED deseada deslizando el interruptor de palanca en la parte posterior de la rejilla (B). Fije bien la tapa impermeable tras haber escogido la temperatura de color LED.
NOTA: Este paso es solo para el modelo BF1103. Asegúrese de que la tapa impermeable está bien instalada para prevenir la entrada de agua.
6 Termine el trabajo del techo Una vez finalizada la inspección eléctrica y de construcción, se puede instalar el techo de tablaroca. Corte el agujero del techo con la plantilla de corte (G) o la medida 7.68 x 7.36 pulgadas (195 x 187 mm). El agujero del techo debe estar alineado con el borde interior de la carcasa del ventilador.

6 Conecte el ducto Conecte un ducto circular de 3 pulgadas (no suministrado) y la ventila al conector del ducto. Asegúrelo con cinta aislante (no suministrada) o una abrazadera (no suministrada) para que la conexión sea segura y hermética.
Introduzca el conector del ducto de vuelta a la carcasa del ventilador (A) siga la ranura de la guía de arriba hacia abajo. Y entrará en su lugar con un sonido de "clic". Asegúrelo con fuerza.

7 Insertar clips de sujeción Inserte los Clip A (E) de sujeción en los orificios previamente marcados a lo largo del borde de la carcasa del extractor y coloque el extractor en su lugar sobre el panel de yeso.

10 Instale la rejilla con luz Fije la rejilla apretando un muelle e introduciendo los muelles en las guías de los muelles de la carcasa del ventilador (A) en primer lugar.

No conecte el ventilador a un atenuador.

Cuidado y mantenimiento
ADVERTENCIA: Desconecte la fuente de alimentación antes de realizar el mantenimiento.

Solución de problemas

Problema El ventilador parece hacer más ruido de lo normal.
El ventilador no está vaciando la habitación.
Sonido anómalo. La luz no funciona.

Posible causa El CFM es demasiado grande.
La compuerta está dañada o no funciona correctamente.
La curva del ducto está demasiado cerca de la descarga del ventilador.
La descarga del ventilador se ha reducido para adaptarse a un ducto más pequeño. El cuerpo del ventilador no está fijado de forma segura. La entrada de aire en la habitación es insuficiente.
Los CFM son insuficientes.

Solución
Asegúrese de que la clasi cación de CFM en el ventilador coincide con los pies cuadrados de su habitación.
Compruebe que la compuerta se abre y se cierra correctamente. Si la compuerta está dañada, llame al servicio de atención al cliente.
Asegúrese de que no hay curvas pronunciadas en el ducto a menos de 18 pulgadas de la descarga del ventilador.
Utilice el tamaño de ducto recomendado para reducir el ruido del ventilador.
Asegúrese de que el ventilador está bien sujeto a las viguetas del techo.
Asegúrese de que una puerta o una ventana estén ligeramente entreabiertas o abiertas para permitir el flujo de aire. El ventilador no es capaz de extraer el aire de la habitación si no hay suficiente flujo de aire para extraerlo.
Asegúrese de que la clasificación de CFM en el ventilador coincide con los requisitos para el tamaño de su habitación.
NOTA: El uso de un pañuelo de papel no es el método correcto para determinar si el ventilador funciona correctamente. Si el ventilador elimina el vapor de la habitación en aproximadamente 15 minutos después de terminar la ducha, entonces el ventilador está funcionando correctamente.

El hueco entre la carcasa y el techo no está sellado. El pestillo no está abierto.
Objetos extraños chocan contra las aspas. Se ha caído el pestillo. El conector del tubo y el tubo no están sellados.

Selle el hueco con cinta para prevenir fugas de aire.
