WARNINGS

Preparation

This insert has a front panel made of GLASS! Use extreme caution when handling glass. Failure to do so could result in personal injury or property damage.

Remove all parts and hardware from the carton and place them on a clean, soft, dry surface. Remove the insert and drawer from the mantel. Check the parts list to make sure nothing is missing. Dispose of packaging materials properly. Please recycle whenever possible.

Operation

Read and understand this entire owner's manual, including all safety information, before plugging in or using this product. Failure to do so could result in electric shock, fire, serious injury, or death.

Power

Make sure the ON/OFF switch, located on the control panel, is in the OFF position. Plug the power cord into a 110~120 Volt 15 Amp grounded outlet (see IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION on Pages 3 and 4). Make sure the outlet is in good condition and that the plug is not loose. NEVER exceed the maximum amperage for the circuit. DO NOT plug other appliances into the same circuit.

Temperature Limiting Control

This heater is equipped with a Temperature Limiting Control. Should the heater reach an unsafe temperature (212°F / 95°C), the heater will automatically turn OFF. To reset:

  1. Unplug the power cord from the outlet.
  2. Turn the ON/OFF switch on the CONTROL PANEL to OFF. Wait 15 minutes.
  3. Inspect the fireplace to make sure no vents are blocked, or clogged with dust or lint. If they are, use a vacuum to clean the vent areas.
  4. With the POWER switch in the OFF position, plug the power cord back into the outlet.
  5. If it switches off again, UNPLUG THE HEATER RIGHT AWAY! Have the outlets, wiring, and breaker box inspected by a professional. Make necessary repairs before using the heater.

Control Panel

The control panel is in the upper right hand corner of the insert. Open the door to access it.

Master Power Button

Press the master power button once to connect main power, push the master power button once again to turn main power off.

Function Buttons:

1. Flame effect and fuel bed turn on. Indicator light turns on. Control panel & remote control are enabled.
2. Flame effect and indicator light turn off. The control panel and remote control will not function.
Flame [Flame Button]The DIMMER controls the brightness of the flame effect. Press the button to set the flame effect to the desired level.The flame effect cycles through different levels, then returns to the first level.
Heater [Heater Button]Flame effect must be ON for heater to function.
1. Press once for "L" heat (500W).
2. Press again for "H" heat (1500W).
3. Press again to turn off heater.
1. Heater & fan turn on low (500W). Indicator light turns on. Warm air blows.
2. Heater & fan turn on high (1500W). Indicator light turns on. Hot air blows.
3. Heater turns off. Fans may blow air after heater is turned off to cool down.
Temperature Setting [Temperature Button]1. Press once for "F" temperature.
2. Press again for °C temperature.
1. °F for Fahrenheit degree, the highest temperature is 95°. There are 10 thermostat levels (86°, 87°, 88°, 89°, 90°, 91°, 92°, 93°, 94°, 95°). Press the [Up Button] for high temperature. Press the [Down Button] for low temperature.
2. °C for Centigrade, the highest temperature is 35°. The temperature from 15° to 35°.
Timer [Timer Button]Press the TIMER button will turn on the timer function.1. Press the timer button will cycle through the 12 timer settings (1Hour, 2H,3H, 4H,5H,6H, 7H, 8H, 9H, 10H, 11H, 12H)
2. Press the "Up" button, it will prolonged the heating time. Press the Down, it will reduce the heating time.

Care and Maintenance

WARNING: ALWAYS turn the heater OFF and unplug the power cord from the outlet before cleaning, performing maintenance, or moving this fireplace. Failure to do so could result in electric shock, fire, or personal injury.

Cleaning

WARNING: NEVER immerse in water or spray with water. Doing so could result in electric shock, fire, or personal injury.

Troubleshooting

WARNING: Turn off the appliance, unplug and let cool for at least 10 minutes before attempting to service. Only a qualified professional should attempt to service or repair the appliance.

3. "Flame wand" has come loose from bracket.3. Remove back panel. Secure end of "flame wand" back into the support bracket.
4. "Flame wand" motor is not functioning.4. Call of Technical service.
The appliance does not turn on when the button is pushed to "ON"1. The overheat protection device in the appliance has been triggered.1. Turn all controls off, unplug the appliance. Allow to cool for at least 10 minutes, then plug back in and restart.
Remote control does not work1. Low batteries.1. Replace all batteries in the remote control.
2. Manual control on the appliance must be "ON" before operating the remote control.2. Push the appliance "ON" using the manual control panel, then use remote control to operate. If using the remote control the appliance, you must also turn on the appliance "ON" using the remote control.
