To ensure optimal and long-lasting performance, please read and follow the instructions in this user manual before operating the air conditioner. Keep this manual for future reference in case of any uncertainties or operational anomalies.

Environmental Information:

  • This air conditioner may be marked with a symbol indicating that it is Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and should not be disposed of with household waste. It must be disposed of at an authorized facility for reuse, recycling, and recovery. Contact your installer or local authorities for more information.
  • Batteries supplied with the unit are subject to European Directive 2006/66/CE. They must be disposed of separately from municipal waste. If the battery symbol is accompanied by a chemical symbol (e.g., Hg, Cd, Pb), it indicates the presence of heavy metals. Dispose of batteries correctly at a local collection or recycling center.

Specific Precautions (R32)

This device uses flammable refrigerants. If refrigerant leaks occur and an ignition source is present, there is a risk of ignition.

  • Observe national laws regarding appliance disposal.
  • Do not use means to accelerate defrosting or cleaning other than those recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Store the appliance in a well-ventilated area.
  • Do not puncture or incinerate.
  • Refrigerants may be odorless.

Installation Precautions

  • This system is intended for domestic and residential use.
  • Installation must be performed by a dealer or qualified installer. Improper installation can cause water leakage, electric shock, or fire.
  • Do not install where flammable gas leaks may be present.
  • Ensure a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) is installed.
  • Ensure the drain hose is installed correctly for proper drainage.
  • Ensure the system is properly grounded. Grounding wires must not be connected to gas or water pipes, electrical conductors, or telephone grounding wires.

Operation Precautions

  • Do not allow children to play with the air conditioner.
  • Do not expose yourself to refrigerated air for extended periods, as it may affect your health.
  • Cleaning and maintenance should not be performed by children without supervision.
  • Do not insert objects into the air outlet; the fan rotates at high speed and can cause injury.
  • Children aged 8 and above, or persons with reduced capabilities, can use the unit if supervised and instructed on safe use.
  • Keep the remote control out of reach of children.
  • Use only approved fuses. Do not use wire or copper in place of a fuse.
  • Do not operate controls with wet hands.
  • Do not tilt or swing the outdoor unit; it may fall and cause injury.
  • Do not place flammable insecticides or spray paints near the unit.
  • Do not expose combustion equipment to the unit's airflow.
  • Do not clean the unit with water or high-pressure washers.
  • Do not store food, plants, or animals in the unit.
  • Do not place containers with water on top of the unit.
  • Do not direct airflow towards plants or animals.
  • Do not step on or sit on the unit; it may fall or cause objects to fall, leading to injury.
  • Periodically check the unit's support structure.
  • Do not touch aluminum fins of the heat exchanger; they can cause injury.
  • Do not place electrical appliances or objects under the indoor or outdoor unit; condensation may cause damage or electric shock.
  • Do not operate without the air filter; it can cause malfunctions due to heat exchanger obstruction.
  • Ensure adequate ventilation when operating with combustion appliances.
  • Use a stable ladder when removing the air inlet panel or filters.
  • Turn off power and unplug before cleaning. Never open the panel while the fan is rotating.
  • Keep the area around the outdoor unit clear of objects and leaves to prevent animal access and potential electrical hazards.
  • Do not disconnect power immediately after stopping the unit; wait at least 5 minutes.
  • Do not operate via the main switch; use the remote control.
  • Do not spill liquids on the unit or insert water containers.
  • Contact your dealer for internal cleaning; do not attempt it yourself.
  • Stop operation and disconnect power during thunderstorms.
  • If the power cord is damaged, contact the dealer or a qualified installer.

Transfer and Repair Precautions

  • Do not modify or repair the unit yourself. Contact the dealer for repairs.
  • Improper repairs can cause water leakage, electric shock, or fire.
  • Contact your dealer for repositioning the unit.
  • If you notice any anomalies (e.g., burning smell), stop the unit, disconnect power, and contact your dealer.
  • If the unit stops cooling or heating, there might be a refrigerant leak. Contact your dealer.
  • Refrigerant contact with skin can cause frostbite. Inhalation of excessive refrigerant gas can cause nerve or heart problems.

Tips for Correct Operation

  • Set an appropriate room temperature.
  • Clean air filters regularly (at least every two weeks). Clogged filters reduce airflow and efficiency.
  • Avoid direct sunlight and drafts. Use curtains or blinds. Keep windows and doors closed except for ventilation.
  • Adjust airflow direction for consistent room temperature.
  • Use the timer to operate the unit only when needed.
  • Keep heat sources away from the unit during cooling operation.

Components

Indoor Unit

Air Inlet Panel: Located at the front, provides access to filters. (Refer to page 19 for details on opening/closing/removing).

Air Filters: Located behind the air inlet panel, trap dust and particles. (Refer to page 19 for cleaning).

Fan: Circulates air within the unit.

Heat Exchanger (Aluminum Fins): Transfers heat between refrigerant and air.

Louvers (Vertical Vanes): Adjust left/right airflow direction.

Deflectors (Horizontal Vanes): Adjust up/down airflow direction.

Air Outlet: Where conditioned air is discharged.

Model Name: Located on the unit.

Ambient Temperature Sensor: Detects the room temperature.

Warning Labels: Indicate hazards like flammable refrigerant, high voltage, sharp fins, and moving fan blades.

Outdoor Unit

Air Inlet (Rear and Side): Draws in outside air.

Fan: Circulates air through the heat exchanger.

Heat Exchanger (Aluminum Fins): Transfers heat between refrigerant and outdoor air.

Drain Port: Allows condensation to drain.

Air Outlet: Discharges air after heat exchange.

Model Name and Refrigerant Type: Located on the unit.

Refrigerant Piping and Electrical Connection: Connects the indoor and outdoor units.

Condensate Drain Hose: Carries away condensation.

Warning Labels: Similar to indoor unit, indicating hazards.

Remote Control

The remote control allows operation of the air conditioner. It includes buttons for power, mode selection, fan speed, temperature adjustment, timers, and special functions.

Remote Control Display

When the unit is off, the display shows the current time and the last selected operating mode/temperature.

Battery Installation

  1. Slide open the battery cover.
  2. Insert batteries, observing polarity (+/-).
  3. Close the battery cover.
  4. Press the ACL reset switch with a pen tip to set the current time.

Notes on Batteries:

  • Do not mix old and new batteries.
  • Remove batteries if the remote will not be used for a long period.
  • Battery life is typically 6-12 months. Using non-specified batteries or exceeding their life may cause leakage and damage.
  • Battery life may be shorter than the unit's lifespan.

Remote Control Holder Installation

The holder can be mounted on a wall. Ensure the unit receives signals correctly before installation.

Remote Control Handling Precautions

  • Do not expose to direct sunlight or strong light.
  • Do not spill liquids on the remote.
  • Do not place near heat sources (e.g., electric blankets, heaters).
  • Do not place obstacles between the remote and the unit.
  • Handle with care; dropping may cause damage.
  • Do not place heavy objects on or step on the remote.

Remote Control Malfunction

  • Check if batteries are depleted; replace if necessary.
  • If the problem persists, use the unit's temporary operation function or contact your dealer for inspection.

Temporary Operation

The unit can be operated using the ON/OFF button on the unit itself if the remote control is unavailable. Default settings apply (AUTO mode, AUTO fan speed, AUTO airflow).

Setting the Clock

The clock needs to be set for timer functions. Press the ACL button, then use the TEMP buttons to set the hour and minute. Press ON/OFF to confirm. The clock display will stop flashing.

Operation Modes

Press the MODE button to cycle through:

  • AUTO: Unit automatically selects COOL, HEAT, or FAN based on room temperature.
  • COOL: For cooling.
  • HEAT: For heating.
  • DRY: For dehumidification.
  • FAN: Circulates air without cooling or heating.

FAN SPEED

Press the FAN SPEED button to adjust fan speed (AUTO, HI, MED, LO). Not available in DRY mode.

Notes:

  • Changing fan speed from HI to LO may produce refrigerant noise.
  • In COOL mode during low outdoor temperatures, fan speed may adjust automatically to protect the unit.

Temperature Setting

Use the TEMP +/- buttons to set the desired temperature. The default for AUTO mode is 24°C, adjustable between 18°C and 30°C.

Airflow Direction Control

Vertical Louvers (Deflectors): Use the AIR FLOW button to adjust up/down airflow. The unit remembers the last set position.

Horizontal Louvers (Vertical Vanes): Manually adjust left/right airflow direction.

Note for Heating: During heating, louvers initially direct air horizontally to prevent cold drafts and adjust after warm air is produced.

HI POWER / ECONOMY Mode

HI POWER: Intensifies cooling/heating for 15 minutes. Display shows 'P'. Temperature is not controlled. Can be cancelled by pressing HI POWER/ECONO again or changing mode.

ECONOMY: Reduces power consumption by suppressing high output. Operates at 1.5°C higher (COOL) or 2.5°C lower (HEAT) than set temperature. Display shows 'eco'.

Notes:

  • HI POWER is not available in DRY or Timer modes.
  • ECONOMY mode may be recalled automatically on subsequent startups.
  • Both modes are cancelled if the unit is turned off.

Timer Functions

SLEEP TIMER: Automatically stops the unit after a set period, adjusting temperature for comfort.

OFF TIMER: Automatically stops the unit at a preset time.

ON TIMER: Automatically starts the unit at a preset time, with a pre-operation period for optimal temperature.

Programmed Timer: Combines ON and OFF timers for daily recurring schedules.

Cancelling Timers: Press the CANCEL button.

Note: SLEEP TIMER and OFF TIMER cannot be set simultaneously.

SELF CLEAN Function

Activates after AUTO, COOL, or DRY operation to remove moisture and prevent mold/bacteria. The fan runs for approximately 2 hours. The RUN light indicates operation. It can be cancelled by pressing SLEEP or ON/OFF.

Auto Restart Function

If power is interrupted, the unit will restart with the previous settings once power is restored. Timer settings are cleared upon power interruption.

Operating Temperature Ranges

Note: Operating outside these ranges may activate protection devices. High indoor humidity (>80%) during prolonged cooling may cause condensation and dripping.

HEAT Function Characteristics

The unit extracts heat from the outside air and transfers it indoors. Heating capacity decreases in colder temperatures. Defrosting may occur automatically in cold, humid conditions, temporarily stopping heating.

During defrosting, the RUN light flashes slowly (1.5s ON, 0.5s OFF). Steam may be emitted from the outdoor unit; this is normal.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Before Maintenance

Disconnect the power supply.

  • Do not spill liquids on the unit.
  • Do not touch aluminum fins.
  • Use a stable support when removing panels.
  • Avoid using hot water, solvents, paint thinner, or benzene for cleaning, as they can cause deformation or damage.

During Operation

Air Filter Cleaning

  1. Remove the air filter: Open the air inlet panel and carefully pull out the filter.
  2. Clean the filter: Wash with lukewarm water (approx. 30°C) and dry thoroughly. Do not use boiling water or dry over open flames.
  3. Reinstall the filter: Ensure it is securely in place. Operating without filters can lead to dust accumulation and unit damage.

Unit Cleaning

Wipe the unit with a soft, dry cloth or use a vacuum cleaner. For stubborn dirt, use a damp cloth.

Air Inlet Panel Cleaning

The panel can be washed with water. Dry it away from direct sunlight.

Opening/Closing Panel: Insert fingers into the corners of the panel and pull forward to open (approx. 70 degrees). Push evenly on both corners to close.

Removing/Installing Panel: Open the panel to 90 degrees and pull forward to remove. Align the panel arm with the housing and push gently to secure.

Seasonal Maintenance

End of Season

  1. Run ventilation for 2-3 hours to dry the interior.
  2. Turn off and disconnect power.
  3. Clean and reinstall air filters.
  4. Clean both indoor and outdoor units.
  5. Remove batteries from the remote control.

Beginning of Season

  1. Check ground wiring.
  2. Inspect the outdoor unit base for corrosion.
  3. Ensure no obstructions block airflow around unit vents.
  4. Connect power supply.
  5. Insert batteries into the remote control.

Installation Guidelines

Proper Location

  • Ensure unobstructed airflow to the indoor unit.
  • Avoid locations with flammable gas leaks or oil splashes.
  • Avoid areas with corrosive gases (e.g., hot springs) or salt air.
  • Keep the unit and remote control at least 1 meter away from TVs and radios to prevent interference.
  • Ensure condensate drains properly.

Noise Considerations

  • Choose a location that can support the unit's weight and minimize noise/vibration. Use anti-vibration pads if necessary.
  • Select a spot where airflow and operating noise do not disturb neighbors.
  • Keep the area around the outdoor unit's air inlets/outlets clear of obstructions to prevent noise and malfunction.
  • Contact your dealer if you hear abnormal noise.

Control and Maintenance

Regular inspection and maintenance are recommended to ensure long-term performance and prevent issues caused by dirt accumulation.

Contact your dealer or an authorized service center for inspections and maintenance (fees may apply).

If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or an authorized service center using special tools.

Assistance

Before Contacting Service

Check the following:

  • Is the power switch on?
  • Is the timer set to "ON"?
  • Is there a power outage or tripped protection device (circuit breaker, fuse)?
  • Is the set temperature correct?
  • Are the air filters clean?
  • Are windows/doors open?
  • Is the unit exposed to direct sunlight or heat sources?
  • Are there many people in the room?

If problems persist after these checks or after consulting page 22, turn off the power and contact your dealer.

Contacting Your Distributor

Immediately turn off the power and inform your distributor if:

  • Power protection devices trip frequently.
  • The power cord is extremely hot or damaged.
  • There is interference with TV, radio, or other appliances.
  • The unit does not start via the switch.
  • Abnormal noise is heard.
  • In case of anomalies, disconnect power, wait 3 minutes, reconnect, and try restarting.
  • RUN and TIMER lights flash rapidly or do not function.

Troubleshooting (Avviso)

Airflow Issues

  • No air during HEATING: RUN light flashes slowly (1.5s ON, 0.5s OFF). This is normal; the unit is pre-heating the heat exchanger (2-5 mins).
  • No air or cold air during HEATING: RUN light flashes slowly. Unit may be defrosting (5-15 mins).
  • No air during DRY operation: RUN light is on. This is normal; airflow is restricted to prevent cold drafts.

Noise Issues

  • Gurgling sound: Refrigerant flow noise.
  • Cracking/Popping sound: Caused by thermal expansion/contraction of plastic parts.
  • Hissing/Ticking sound: Refrigerant control valves or electrical components.
  • Whistling sound from outdoor unit: Compressor speed is increasing or decreasing.

Other Issues

  • Unit does not restart immediately after stopping: A 3-minute protection timer is active.
  • Vapor emission during COOL operation: Normal in high temperature/humidity conditions; will stop as conditions improve. Close windows/doors.
  • Unusual odor: May be due to tobacco or cosmetic particles adhering to the unit.
  • Unit does not restart after power interruption: Auto-restart function may be disabled or timer settings lost. Use remote to restart.
  • Remote signals not received: Check for direct sunlight or strong light on the receiver.
  • Condensation on air outlet grille: May form during prolonged operation in high humidity.
  • Indoor fan does not stop immediately: If SELF CLEAN was active, the fan may run for up to 2 hours.
  • RUN light stays on after stopping: If SELF CLEAN was active, the RUN light remains on until SELF CLEAN stops.

Self-Diagnosis

The unit has indicator lights that signal abnormal operation:
