3. Install (1) Plastic Cover to cover the joint of (2) Step bars with (4) Plastic Rivets.
See Fig 1 for Step Bars Assembly, Fig 2 for Back Plate Installation, and Fig 3 for Plastic Cover Installation.
Step 2: Driver Side Front Mounting Bracket Installation
Starting installation from the driver side front of the vehicle. Locate and remove rubber plugs if equipped.
Select (1) M10 Bolt Plate and (1) M10 Plastic Washer. Partially thread the M10 Plastic Washer onto the M10 Bolt Plate. Insert the M10 Bolt Plate into the opening and thread the M10 Plastic Washer down tight. The Plastic Washer is designed to keep the Bolt Plate from falling into the body panel during bracket installation.
See Fig 4 for Driver Side Mounting Bracket Locations and Fig 5 for M10 Bolt Plate Installed.
Step 3: Driver Front Mounting Bracket (DFM) Installation
Select the Driver Front Mounting Bracket (DFM). Attach the Bracket to the installed M10 Bolt Plate with (1) M10 Large Flat Washer, (1) M10 Lock Washer, and (1) M10 Hex Nut. Do not fully tighten the hardware at this time. Note: Upper mounting slot is not used on front brackets only.
See Fig 6 and Fig 7 for Driver Front Mounting Bracket Installation.
Step 4: Driver Side Rear Mounting Bracket Installation
Move to the driver side rear of the vehicle. Locate and remove the (2) rubber plugs. Insert (2) M10 Bolt Plates with plastic washers into the opening.
Repeat Steps 2-3 to attach the Driver Rear Mounting Bracket (DRM) to the installed (2) M10 Bolt Plates. Do not fully tighten hardware at this time.
See Fig 8 for Driver Rear Mounting Bracket (DRM) Installed.
Step 5: Step Bar Installation
Once all (2) Driver side mounting brackets are installed, proceed to the Step Bar installation.
1. Select (1) Slider and (2) M8X1.25-35mm Carriage Bolts.
2. Install (2) M8X1.25-35mm Carriage Bolts in (1) Slider.
3. Slide the Slider (with carriage bolts) to the Step Bar.
4. Repeat to install the other (1) slider to the step bar.
5. Attach the Step Bar (with the Sliders) onto the installed mounting brackets. Position the Sliders to the installed brackets. Secure the Step Bar to the installed Brackets by using (4) M8 Large Flat Washers and (4) M8 Nylon Lock Nuts and (2) Sliders. Do not fully tighten hardware at this time. Note: The Sliders are packed with the Step Bars.
See Fig 9 for Slider Installation and Fig 10 for Step Bar Installation.
Step 6: Drilling for Mounting Brackets
Level and adjust the Step Bar and fully tighten all hardware. Push the Mounting Brackets up tight against the bottom of the body. Use the mounting tab on each Bracket as a guide, mark the hole location and drill a 5/16” hole through the pinch weld on both Brackets.
VERY IMPORTANT: Do not drill too close to the edge of the pinch weld; adjust Bracket position as required before drilling through pinch weld.
NOTE: If necessary, remove Step Bar and Brackets to drill the holes through the pinch weld. Repeat Steps 2-5 to reinstall.
IMPORTANT! Any cutting or drilling tool may break or shatter. Government regulations require safety glasses & equipment at all times when cutting or drilling.
See Fig 11 for Driver Hole on Driver Side Rear Mounting Location.
Step 7: Attaching Brackets to Pinch Weld
Once both holes have been drilled on the pinch weld, attach the lower mounting tabs on the (2) Driver Side Mounting Brackets to the pinch weld with (2) M8X1.25-30mm Hex Bolts, (4) M8 Large Flat Washers, and (2) M8 Nylon Lock Nuts. Fully tighten hardware at this time.
