Thank you for purchasing this 40-6301 Laser Mounting Pole with Tripod.

Kit Contents:

Assembly Instructions for Non-Floor to Ceiling Application

  1. Locate tripod and unlock the black plastic clamp on the leg to extend to your desired height. Lock the clamp to keep the leg in this fixed position. Repeat for the other two legs.
  2. Locate spring loaded floor pole and insert through tripod center holes from the bottom. If the pole doesn't slide through the top hole, then loosen the tripod locking screw by turning counterclockwise. Do not remove the locking screw. Position the tripod in an upright position with the spring loaded end on the floor.
  3. Use the leveling vial to level the tripod and make adjustments to each leg as needed.
  4. If the 1/4" - 20 adapter is not required, skip to step 5. To use the included 1/4"-20 adapter for a laser or optical instrument, use a 3/16" Phillips head screwdriver. Unscrew both screws on the bottom and remove the 5/8"-11 adapter. Install the 1/4"-20 adapter, use the same screws, and install onto the bottom of the adapter.
  5. Locate the laser mounting platform. Unlock the quick release lock by moving the lock to an upward position and hold in the highest upward position. Attach the laser mounting platform to the threaded end of the center pole column. To lock onto the pole, push the lock downward. Assemble the remaining center pole or poles together as needed for jobsite height requirement and attach to the assembled center pole in the tripod.
  6. Unlock and slide the laser mounting platform to the desired position on the pole for the laser or optical instrument. Lock into position by pushing the quick release downward.
  7. For greatest stability, extend the legs to the farthest position. Fully lock the tripod locking screw. Assembly is complete.

Assembly Instructions for Floor to Ceiling Without Tripod

  1. Locate the spring loaded floor pole, three center poles, and ceiling pole.
  2. Assemble one center pole to the spring loaded floor pole.
  3. Locate the laser mounting platform. Unlock the quick release lock by moving the lock to an upward position and hold in the highest upward position. Attach the laser mounting platform to the threaded end of the center pole column. To lock onto the pole, push the quick release lock downward.
  4. Assemble additional center pole or poles as needed for overall floor to ceiling height, attaching the ceiling pole to the threaded end on the assembled center pole(s).
  5. You can extend the overall height of the laser pole by twisting the black connector piece on the end of the spring loaded pole. Rotate the black connector piece 1/8" counterclockwise to unlock, extend, and lock into position by turning clockwise. Note, the overall pole height should be 1/4" - 1/2" longer than the ceiling height to allow for sufficient spring loaded pressure.
  6. Place the assembled laser pole into the desired jobsite location, pressing down to compress and release when in the desired vertical floor to ceiling position. Spring pressure should hold the pole in position. If not, repeat step 5 above to extend the spring loaded floor pole for additional height. Adjustment elevating range is 2.33' to 11'.
