You can customize your listening at a most comfortable volume level, via balance and tone controls. Our voice highlighting and noise cancelling technology dynamically reduce TV background sounds and make TV dialogues stand out. At last you can easily understand the TV dialogues at a healthy volume without worrying about your hearing being damaged.
The SIMOLIO SM-828D1 / SM-828D2 is especially helpful for hearing-impaired people. How to Use
1. Check Your TV/Audio Source Output Options before the Set up
The SM-828D1 / SM-828D2 is compatible with OPTICAL output, RCA (labeled "AUDIO OUT"), and AUX 3.5mm output.
Connection Options:
- Digital Optical: OPTICAL AUDIO OUT port on TV/Audio Device to OPTICAL IN on Transmitter. (Natively supported)
- RCA: AUDIO OUT (Red/White) ports on TV/Audio Device to AUDIO IN on Transmitter. (Natively supported)
- AUX/3.5mm: 3.5mm AUDIO OUT port on TV/Audio Device to AUX IN on Transmitter. (Natively supported)
- 6.35mm Phone Jack: Requires a 6.35mm to 3.5mm adapter (purchase separately).
- Digital Coaxial: Requires a digital to analog converter (purchase separately).
Note: Three different audio cables are included: digital optical, RCA, and 3.5mm. Only one is needed for installation. If your audio source has an optical out port, connect to it preferentially.
2. Turn on the Transmitter and Earphone
2.1 Power the Transmitter:
Plug the supplied AC adapter into a standard electrical outlet and connect the other end to the "DC 5V" port on the back of the transmitter.
2.2 Turn on the Transmitter:
Slide the STEREO/MONO/OFF switch to the "MONO" or "STEREO" position.
2.3 Turn on the Earphone:
Slide the ON/OFF switch to the "ON" position. Note: Please charge the earphone for 3 hours before first use.
3. Connect the Transmitter to Your TV/Audio Source
Set the volume of the audio source to a level sufficient for normal hearing. For example, set TV box VOL to 30% and TV VOL to 40%. To watch TV quietly, mute your TV or select a speaker option other than "TV Speaker" in the TV Sound Output settings. These settings may vary by TV model.
3.1 Digital Optical Connection:
Connect the Optical Audio Cable from the TV's "Digital Audio Out (Optical)" port to the transmitter's "OPTICAL IN" port. Ensure protective caps are removed from the cable ends.
Note: If you cannot access the back of your TV, you can connect to a set-top box or DVD player.
Interference Warning: Place the transmitter base at least 4 feet away from routers, smart WiFi devices, or TV sticks to avoid interference.
TV Audio Format and Speaker Setting: If no sound is heard, ensure the TV Audio Format is set to "PCM" or "Dolby/DTS" is OFF. Also, ensure your TV speaker is set to "External Speakers". Some TVs may have separate settings for regular TV and internet TV; check "Expert Settings" for "Audio Format" or "Digital Output Audio Format" and select PCM.
3.2 RCA Analog Connection:
Connect the red and white ends of the RCA Audio Cable to the "AUDIO OUT" ports (red and white) on the back of the TV. Connect the single end of the cable to the "AUDIO IN" port on the back of the transmitter.
Note: Ensure you use the correct "AUDIO OUT" ports. If your TV only supports single sound out, it may mute internal speakers when an external device is connected. Some TVs allow simultaneous output; check your TV's settings.
Volume Setting: Your TV's analog audio settings might be "Variable" or "Fixed". Set to "Fixed" for independent volume control via the SIMOLIO headphones. Contact your TV manufacturer for assistance if needed.
3.3 3.5mm/AUX Analog Connection:
Connect one end of the 3.5mm audio cable to the "Audio Out" port (often a headphone port) on the back of the TV. Connect the other end to the "AUDIO IN" port on the back of the transmitter. This may mute your TV's internal speakers.
Interference Warning: Place the transmitter base at least 4 feet away from routers, smart WiFi devices, or TV sticks to avoid interference.
TV Audio Out / TV Speaker Setting: Ensure your TV speaker is set to "Headset". Test the TV's audio output by plugging wired headphones into the TV's 3.5mm audio out port.
Volume Setting: Your TV's audio settings may be set to "Variable" or "Fixed". Set to "Fixed" for independent volume control.
3.4 Other Connections in Special Cases:
1) Digital Coaxial Audio Out Port Only: If your TV/Audio Source only has a digital coaxial audio out port, you will need a Digital to Analog Converter (DAC). Connect the coaxial cable from the TV to the DAC's "COAXIAL IN", and then use the DAC's "RCA OUT" or "H/P" port with the appropriate cable (RCA or 3.5mm) to connect to the transmitter's "AUDIO IN". Test the audio output from the DAC using wired headphones.
2) Optical Audio Out Port Occupied (By-pass): If the optical audio out port is used by a soundbar, you can use the by-pass feature. If using an optical cable to connect the transmitter to the TV, also use an optical cable to connect the transmitter's "OPTICAL OUT" to the sound system's "OPTICAL IN". If using an AUX/RCA cable, use a corresponding AUX/RCA cable to connect to the sound system.
3) AV Receiver with 6.35mm PHONE Jack: SIMOLIO is not compatible with standard RCA (L/R) ports on AV Receivers. Use the 6.35mm "PHONE OUT" port on the AV Receiver with a 6.35mm to 3.5mm adapter to connect to the transmitter's "AUDIO IN" port.
Note: When listening only through the wireless TV earphone, turn off your sound system.
4. Use Two Sets of SIMOLIO Wireless Headphones Simultaneously in the Same House
Place the two sets of SIMOLIO SM-828D1 / SM-828D2 at least 10 meters apart. To pair, bring the earphone close to the transmitter and turn both on, ensuring their green LED indicators face each other for about 5 seconds. Note: One transmitter supports multiple earphones; only one transmitter needs to be connected.
5. Charge the Earphone
Method 1 (Magnetic Charging Stand): Turn off the earphone and place it on the magnetic charging stand. The LED indicator on the stand will be solid red while charging and turn green when charging is complete.
Method 2 (USB Charging): Plug the earphone into a USB wall charger (DC 5V/0.5-2A) using the included USB cable. The earphone's LED will turn red while charging and turn off when complete. Charging takes approximately 3 hours.
Method 3 (Spare Battery): The transmitter has a spare battery compartment. When the earphone battery is low, replace it with the spare battery and recharge the discharged battery in the compartment.
Note: The headset provides approximately 7 hours of listening time on a full charge, which may vary based on volume levels.
6. Customizing your SM-828D1 / SM-828D2
1) Balance Control:
Rotate the BAL dial on the headset to adjust left/right volume for equal hearing in both ears.
2) Tone Control:
Select the TONE setting (TREBLE/NORMAL/BASS) on the transmitter to find the best audio clarity for TV voices.
3) Mono/Stereo Option:
Switch to STEREO for Hi-Fi music or MONO for clearer TV dialogues. If sound is only heard in one ear despite balance adjustment, set the STEREO/MONO switch on the transmitter to MONO.
4) To clean the silicone ear tips:
- Carefully remove the ear tips from the earphone.
- Clean with warm soapy water and rinse thoroughly.
- Dry the ear tips.
- Reattach the ear tips to the earphone.
