This guide provides a brief introduction to the Pan/Tilt AI Home Security Wi-Fi Camera and the Tapo app, as well as regulatory information. Please note that features available in Tapo may vary by model and software version. Tapo availability may also vary by region. Introduction

When you are away from home, there are always things you care about. This is where the smart camera functions. No matter if your child is climbing the kitchen cabinet or the pet is stealing snacks, the Pan/Tilt AI Home Security Wi-Fi Camera helps you stay connected anytime, anywhere. Receive a notification whenever your camera detects motion and see a video clip of this motion to check everything.

Appearance

The camera features a lens at the front. On the rear, there is a slot labeled "Micro SD" and a button labeled "RESET". The camera body is mounted on a base.

Set Up Your Camera

Follow these steps to set up your new camera:

  1. Step 1. Download Tapo App

    Get the Tapo app from the App Store or Google Play, or by scanning the QR code provided.

  2. Step 2. Log In

    Open the Tapo app and log in with your TP-Link ID. If you do not have an account, create one first.

  3. Step 3. Add Your Camera

    In the app, tap the '+' button, then select 'Add Device'. Search for your camera model and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.

Install a microSD Card

Follow these steps to install a microSD card for local recording. You can check the card status or format it in the Tapo app under Camera Settings > microSD Card.

  1. Manually rotate the camera downwards to locate the microSD card slot.
  2. Identify the correct orientation of the microSD card and carefully insert it into the slot. Push the card until you hear a clicking sound.

Mount Your Camera

After adding your camera in the Tapo app, you can place it on a table or shelf. Alternatively, you can mount it on a wall or ceiling using the provided mounting template and screws. Refer to the setup video at https://www.tp-link.com/support/setup-video/#cloud-cameras for detailed instructions.

  1. Mark Position

    Place the mounting template where you intend to position the camera. For wall mounting, drill two holes through the indicated circles (diameter 6 mm / 15/64 in.).

  2. Mount Base

    Affix the camera base using the provided screws. For wall mounting, insert two anchors into the drilled holes first, then use the screws to secure the base over the anchors.

  3. Secure Camera

    Attach the camera onto the mounted base and rotate it to secure it in place.

How to Reset Your Camera

You can reset your camera using the Reset button. Alternatively, navigate to Camera Settings in the Tapo app and tap 'Remove Device' to perform a factory reset.

  1. Manually rotate the camera downwards to find the Reset button.
  2. Press and hold the RESET button to reset the camera.
    • Press and hold for 5 seconds: The LED blinks red slowly. This resets Wi-Fi settings only.
    • Press and hold for 10 seconds: The LED blinks red quickly. This performs a full factory reset.

This is a Class B product. In a domestic environment, it may cause radio interference, requiring the user to take adequate measures.
