Mounting Instructions: SLC Side Carrier
Step 1: Prepare Side Carriers
Attach parts (2) to (5) to the side carriers (1) as shown in the schematic drawing. Use liquid thread locker. Tighten screws to 8 N⋅m.
Step 2: Remove Passenger Seat and Grips
Remove the passenger seat and, on both sides, the passenger grips from the vehicle, as shown in the drawing.
Step 3: Remove Footrest Mount Screws
Remove the screws on both sides from the passenger footrest mounts, as shown in the drawing.
Step 4: Attach Side Carriers to Footrest Mounts
Insert the distance parts (6) into the original rubber guards. Attach the side carriers (1) with the original rubber guards to the footrest mounts on both sides of the vehicle. Use liquid thread locker. Do not fully tighten the screws yet.
Step 5: Connect Side Carriers and Tighten
Mount the side carriers (1) to each other as shown in the drawing. Use liquid thread locker. Once all parts are evenly positioned without excess tension, tighten the screws to the manufacturer's specified torque. Torque values: 18 N⋅m, 23 N⋅m, 9 N⋅m.
Mounting Instructions: SysBag 15 Adapter Plate
The following steps detail mounting the adapter plate to various SW-MOTECH carrier systems and then attaching the SysBag 15.
Configuration A: PRO Side Carrier
Attach parts (2) to (5) to the adapter plate (1), as shown. Torque: 3 N⋅m. Pay attention to markings (parallelogram or triangle) indicating the respective mounting side.
Configuration B: STEEL-RACK and ADVENTURE-RACK
Attach parts (2) to (5) to the adapter plate (1), as shown. Torque: 3 N⋅m. Ensure the locking mechanism (2) and lock bolt are mounted opposite each other.
Configuration C: SLC Side Carrier and STREET-RACK
Attach parts (2) to (5) to the adapter plate (1), as shown. Torque: 3 N⋅m. Pay attention to markings (parallelogram or triangle) indicating the respective mounting side.
Attaching Adapter Plate to SysBag 15
Attach the adapter plate (1) to your SysBag 15, as shown. Pay attention to the alignment of the SysBag 15 lid. Use medium-strength liquid thread locker. Torque: 15 N⋅m.
Attaching SysBag to Carrier System
Place the locking openings of the locking mechanism (2) and the locking adapter (3) onto the guide bolts of the adapter kit. Press the SysBag 15 onto the guide bolts until it is securely seated on your SW-MOTECH carrier system.
ATTENTION: Ensure all guide bolts engage simultaneously. Listen for an audible snap sound from the locking mechanism and verify the red marking under the slider is not visible.
To release, press the slider downward or pull the release cord.
SysBag Fastening
Fastening to the Vehicle
- ATTENTION: Before fastening, close the rear eyelets of the SysBag (1) with the included rubber plugs (4).
- ATTENTION: Protect sensitive surfaces in the area of the SysBag (1) and fastening straps with the adhesive protection foil (5) from scratches.
- Place your SysBag (1) in the rear area of your vehicle (e.g., passenger seat, luggage rack).
- On both sides, entangle TWO loop straps (6) to appropriate and reliable attachment points in the rear area of the vehicle (e.g., luggage hook).
- TIP: SW-MOTECH recommends mounting with lashing eyes (2) (SysBag 10 and 15 only). Attach lashing eyes (2) with original screws behind the license plate.
- On both sides, entangle TWO loop straps (6) to appropriate and reliable attachment points of the vehicle (e.g., footrest mounts, vehicle frame).
- Attach the hook buckles of the four loop straps (6) on both sides to the marked loops of the SysBag (1), as shown in the lower drawing.
- Tighten all loop straps until the SysBag (1) is centered and securely fastened to the vehicle. Secure the overlength of the loop straps (6) with the rubber loops.
Fastening SysBag to Another SysBag (Optional)
- Attach your SysBag 15 (A) to the vehicle as described previously.
- Loosen the upper two straps of the vehicle-mounted SysBag 15 (A).
- Attach the hook buckles of these two straps to the loops (behind the lid) of the SysBag 10 or 15 (B) to be attached.
- On both sides, loosen the upper straps on each side of the SysBag 10/15 (B).
- Attach the hook buckles of these two straps to the loops shown on the attached SysBag 15 (A).
- After ALL FOUR hook buckles are properly attached, tighten the straps until the SysBag 10/15 (B) is firmly attached on the SysBag 15 (A). Secure the overlength of the straps (4) with the velcro loops against flapping.
Mandatory Function Check
ATTENTION: After fastening, ensure no component of the SysBag contacts hot or moving parts of the vehicle. All parts should remain at least 15 cm away from hot parts and the exhaust stream.
To verify, compress the vehicle's suspension fully several times while stationary.
Loading and Care
Loading
- ATTENTION: Always use the included waterproof innerbag (3) to protect your luggage from moisture.
- Fasten the waterproof inner bag (3) on the inside of the reinforced opening of the SysBag (1).
- Roll the reinforced opening three times, then close the SysBag (1) with the buckles.
- ATTENTION: Keep items and electronic devices sensitive to magnetic fields away from the magnets sewn into the lid of the SysBag (1).
- ATTENTION: Never store pointy or sharp-edged objects that could cause injury or damage.
- Ensure weight is evenly distributed between the left and right SysBag. Make sure the load is secured against shifting during the ride.
Care
- For cleaning, use ONLY a soft textile brush, cloth, or sponge with warm soapy water. Rinse with clean water.
- Do NOT use harsh cleaning agents, rough cleaning tools, or a high-pressure washer.
- Clean the SysBag after riding in salty conditions to avoid damage from salt.
- ATTENTION: Surface materials may experience color changes or fading due to prolonged and intense sunlight exposure and environmental factors (e.g., SMOG, acid rain). SW-MOTECH assumes no liability for this.
