Joyonway Heat Pump Controller

Model: P16B162 / PB557-02

Simplified Operation Instruction

I. Pre-use Operations

1. Power Connection: Please connect power strictly according to the power data plate.

The diagram shows the wiring connections for the HEAT PUMP CONTROLLER. It includes connections for AC power input (L, N, G), a control panel, a heat pump, a circulation pump, and communication lines. It also indicates voltage danger and specifies maximum power ratings for the heat pump (MAX.2HP) and circulation pump (MAX.1HP). The diagram notes that the circulation pump voltage and heat pump voltage must match the input voltage.

2. Power On and Use: After connecting the load and checking it in detail, turn on the power and use it normally.

The control panel features a digital display and several buttons. The display shows the time (e.g., 20:08) and mode indicators. The buttons are: [light-bulb] (Light/Adj+), [cycle-pump] (Cycle pump), [settings-gear] (Setting), [down-arrow] (Working mode/Temp unit switch/Adj-), and [up-arrow] (Working mode/Temp unit switch/Adj+).

P16B162 Parameter: Input voltage: AC100-240V 50/60Hz, Max. total load: 15.8A.

II. Setting

Temperature Setting

When the system is powered on, press [settings-gear] until entering the temperature setting interface. The LCD will display the temperature unit with flashing digits. Press [up-arrow] and [down-arrow] to set the temperature value. The setting range is 4~40°C (39~104°F). The system will store the set temperature value.

Clock Setting

When the system is powered on, press [settings-gear] until entering the clock hour setting. The LCD will display the hour value flashing. Then press [up-arrow] and [down-arrow] to adjust the hour value.

When the system is powered on, press [settings-gear] until entering the clock minute setting. The LCD will display the minute value flashing. Then press [up-arrow] and [down-arrow] to adjust the minute value.

Timing Heat & Cool Time Period Setting (Economy and Sleeping modes only)

When the system is powered on, press [settings-gear] repeatedly until entering the timing heat/cool time period setting interface. The corresponding time value will flash. Press [up-arrow] and [down-arrow] to adjust the time.

"1" and "2" in the LCD stand for time period 1 and time period 2. "[next]" and "[prev]" in the LCD stand for the starting and ending time of the time period.

The system will automatically store the value after timing heat/cool time period setting.

Timing Water Cycle Time Period Setting

When the system is powered on, press [settings-gear] repeatedly until entering the timing water cycle time period setting interface. The corresponding time value will flash. Press [up-arrow] and [down-arrow] to adjust the time.

"1" and "2" in the LCD stand for time period 1 and time period 2. "[next]" and "[prev]" in the LCD stand for the starting and ending time of the time period.

The system will automatically store the value after timing water cycle time period setting.

Children Lock Protection Setting

When the system is powered on, continuously press [settings-gear] until it goes to the children lock setting interface. Then press [next] to set the children lock function. When the setting is done, the system will save it.

System with children lock protection: If no button is touched within 3 minutes, all buttons will be locked, and no operation can be done. The LCD displays "LOC". Press and hold any button for 3 seconds to unlock the panel. All buttons will work, and "LOC" will disappear.

III. Functions

Temperature Unit

When the system is powered on and not in setting mode, press [settings-gear] to switch the temperature unit (°C or °F). The system will automatically store the value after changing.

Working Mode

When the system is powered on and not in setting mode, press the [down-arrow] button for 2 seconds to switch the working mode.

The system has three working modes (default is Standard mode):

  • Standard mode (LCD displaying Model N): Heat & cool function is valid 24 hours. If system time falls within the water cycle set time period, filtering water cycle function is valid.
  • Economy mode (LCD displaying Model E): If system time falls within the water cycle set time period, filtering water cycle function is valid. If system time falls within the heating set time period, heat & cool function is valid. If system time is out of the set time period, freezing proof function will be activated.
  • Sleeping mode (LCD displaying Model D): Freezing proof will be started, and other loads will be turned off and cannot be controlled by keys.

Freezing Proof

When water temperature is lower than 4°C (40°F), heat will be started. When the temperature reaches 9°C (48°F), heat will be turned off.

Light

When the control system is powered on and not in sleeping mode or setting mode, press the [light-bulb] button to control the light. Press the [up-arrow] button for 2 seconds to turn off the light.

Light has two modes: On/Off mode and RGB mode.

RGB mode control:

  • State 1: Auto color change (cycles through states 2 to 8).
  • State 2: Red
  • State 3: Green
  • State 4: Yellow (Green + Red)
  • State 5: Blue
  • State 6: Purple (Blue + Red)
  • State 7: Cyan (Blue + Green)
  • State 8: White
  • State 9: Turning off

Cycle Pump

When the control system is powered on and not in sleeping mode or setting mode, press the [cycle-pump] button to control the on/off of the cycle pump. The cycle pump will turn off automatically after running for 30 minutes.

Timing Water Cycle

Timing water cycle is valid in Standard and Economy modes. It is invalid in Sleeping mode.

The control system has two water cycle setting time periods. Before usage, please set the two time periods.

If the system time falls within either of the time periods, water cycle will be started. If the system time is not within the time periods, water cycle will be turned off.

Ozone

Ozone will be turned off when the pump, blower, water inflow, or draining is started.

When the pump, blower, water inflow, and draining are turned off, and the heating cycle pump or timing water cycle is started, ozone will be automatically started. When both heating cycle pump and timing water cycle are turned off, ozone will be turned off automatically.

Heat & Cool

Heat & Cool function starts automatically in Standard mode. In Economy mode, it starts within set time periods. In Sleeping mode, freezing proof works automatically.

When Heat & Cool function is started and water is detected (if equipped with water level sensing function), the cycle pump will start first, then the heat pump will start. If Heat & Cool is turned off, the heat pump will turn off first, then the cycle pump will turn off after a while.

When Heat & Cool function is started, the system will start or stop the heat pump according to the water temperature and the set temperature, providing automatic control of the water temperature.
