The TLM99 Products emit a visible laser beam as shown in Figure A. The laser beam emitted is Laser Class 2 per IEC 60825-1 and complies with 21 CFR 1040.10 and 1040.11 except for deviations pursuant to Laser Notice No. 50, dated June 24, 2007.

WARNING: While the laser tool is in operation, be careful not to expose your eyes to the emitting laser beam (red light source). Exposure to a laser beam for an extended time may be hazardous to your eyes. Do not look into the beam with optical aids.

Battery Safety

- UNITS: Press to change units (ft./in/m).
- CLEAR: Press to clear the last measurement or setting.

Product Operation
Change Measurement Reference Point
By default, measurements are taken from the rear of the device. To change the reference point to the front of the device, press and hold the ON button for 2 seconds.
- Default measurement: from the rear of the device.
- To change reference: 2 sec. press to change measurement reference from back to front of device.
- Measurement from front: Measurement is from the front of the device.
Single Measurement
- Press [ON button] to turn the device on.
- Press [Laser button] to activate the laser.
- Aim the laser at the target.
- Press [Measure button] to take the measurement. The result is displayed.
Continuous Measurement
- Press and hold the [ON button] for 2 seconds to start continuous measurement.
- Aim the laser at the target.
- The device continuously measures and updates the distance.
- Press the [ON button] again to stop continuous measurement and capture the last value.
Functions
Addition (TLM99)
- Press the '+' button once to activate the Add function.
- Take the first measurement.
- Take the second measurement to add to the first. The sum is displayed.
Addition (TLM99s/TLM99si)
- Press the '+' button once to activate the Add function.
- Take the first measurement.
- Take the second measurement to add to the first. The sum is displayed.
Subtraction (TLM99)
- Press the '-' button twice to activate the Subtract function.
- Take the first measurement (this is the value from which the next measurement will be subtracted).
- Take the second measurement to subtract from the first. The difference is displayed.
Subtraction (TLM99s/TLM99si)
- Press the '-' button twice to activate the Subtract function.
- Take the first measurement (this is the value from which the next measurement will be subtracted).
- Take the second measurement to subtract from the first. The difference is displayed.
Area Measurement
Measure length and width to find AREA (Length x Width).
- Press the UNITS button until 'Area' is selected.
- Press the [Measure button] to measure the first distance (length).
- Press the [Measure button] again to measure the second distance (width). The calculated area is displayed.
Volume Measurement
Measure length, width, and height to find VOLUME (Length x Width x Height).
- Press the UNITS button until 'Volume' is selected.
- Press the [Measure button] to measure the first distance (length).
- Press the [Measure button] again to measure the second distance (width).
- Press the [Measure button] a third time to measure the third distance (height). The calculated volume is displayed.
Units Conversion
Press the UNITS button to cycle through available measurement units (e.g., meters, feet, inches).
- TLM99: Press to change units (m/in/ft.).
- TLM99s/TLM99si: 2 sec. press to change units (m/in/ft.).
Bluetooth Operation: TLM99s and TLM99si
These models support Bluetooth connectivity for use with the STANLEY FloorPlan app.
- Download App: Download the STANLEY® FloorPlan app to your smartphone or tablet from Google Play or the App Store.
- Capture Room: Use the app to capture your room or space layout.
- Pair Device: Pair your TLM99s/TLM99si device with the STANLEY® FloorPlan app via Bluetooth.
- Verify Measurements: Verify the room/space measurements within the app.
- Save/Share Floorplans: Save and share your floorplans in various formats (e.g., PDF, DXF, JPG).

*Under favorable conditions (good target surface, room temperature) up to 10 m (33 ft.).
