Important Safeguards

When using your electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric hazard and injury to persons, including the following:

  1. Read all instructions.
  2. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or control panel buttons. The unit body can become very hot during prolonged use; handle it carefully.
  3. CAUTION: To reduce the risk of electric shock, cook only in the removable container.
  4. Close supervision is necessary when the appliance is used by or near children.
  5. To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse the cord, plug, or cooker body in water or other liquid.
  6. Do not add water beyond the maximum fill line inside the water tank, as it may overflow during cooking.
  7. Unplug from the outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow the appliance to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning.
  8. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged. Return the appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair, or adjustment.
  9. Using accessory attachments not recommended by the manufacturer may cause injuries.
  10. Intended for countertop use only.
  11. Do not use the appliance for purposes other than its intended use.
  12. Do not use outdoors.
  13. Exercise extreme caution when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other hot liquids.
  14. Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
  15. A short power-supply cord is used to reduce risks from it being grabbed by children, becoming entangled, or tripping.
  16. WARNING: Spilled food can cause serious burns. Keep the appliance and cord away from children. Never drape the cord over the edge of a counter, never use an outlet below a counter, and never use with an extension cord.
  17. Before first use, ensure the appliance's electric rating conforms to the current electrical rating.
  18. To disconnect, turn the control to "off", then remove the plug from the wall outlet.
  19. DO NOT place the unit on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
  20. Only carry the hot pot by its side handle.
  21. This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully, reverse it. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug.
  22. HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY.
