Safety Information
General Safety Precautions:
- Read and understand the entire manual before assembly, operation, or installation.
- Disconnect power at the circuit breaker or fuse box before beginning installation.
- Ensure all electrical connections comply with local codes, ordinances, and the National Electrical Code (ANSI/NFPA 70-199). Consult a qualified electrician if unfamiliar with electrical wiring.
- Ensure a minimum clearance of 7 ft. from the blades to the floor and at least 30 in. from the blades to any obstruction.
- The net weight of this fan is 22.18 lbs.
DANGER: Ensure the outlet box is securely attached to the building structure to support the fan's weight. Failure to do so can result in serious injury or death.
WARNINGS:
- Use gloves when handling parts with sharp edges to avoid personal injury.
- Do not use a full-range dimmer switch to control fan speed, as this can cause humming noise and increase the risk of fire or electric shock.
- Mount the fan to an outlet box marked "ACCEPTABLE FOR FAN SUPPORT". Ensure the outlet box and its support can hold at least 35 lbs. Consult an electrician if unsure.
- Wire connectors provided are designed for one 12-gauge house wire and two fan lead wires. Consult an electrician for proper connectors if house wires are larger than 12-gauge or if more than one house wire needs to connect to the fan lead wires.
- Do not bend blade arms during installation, balancing, or cleaning. Do not insert objects between rotating blades.
- Use only provided parts. Using other parts will void the warranty.
CAUTIONS:
- Ensure the outlet box is properly grounded or has a ground wire (green or bare).
- Check all screws, bolts, and nuts on the motor assembly for security.
- This device complies with Part 15 of FCC Rules. Operation is subject to conditions that may cause harmful interference.
- This equipment has been tested and found to comply with Class B digital device limits. It generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy. If interference occurs, try reorienting the antenna, increasing separation, or connecting to a different circuit. Consult a dealer or technician for assistance.
- Unauthorized modifications may void the user's authority to operate the equipment.
Preparation
Before assembly, verify all parts are present by comparing them with the package and hardware lists. Do not attempt assembly if any parts are missing or damaged.
Estimated Assembly Time: 120 minutes.
Tools Required (not included): Electrical Tape, Phillips Screwdriver, Pliers, Safety Glasses, Step Ladder, Wire Strippers.
Helpful Tools (not included): AC Tester Light, Tape Measure, Wiring Handbook, Wire Cutters.
Initial Installation
- Turn off circuit breakers and wall switch to the fan supply line. DANGER: Failure to disconnect power can result in serious injury or death.
- Determine mounting method:
- Standard Mounting: Best for ceilings 8 ft. or higher. A longer downrod may be needed for taller ceilings.
- Angle Mounting: Best for angled or vaulted ceilings. A longer downrod may be needed for proper blade clearance. Ensure ceiling angle is not steeper than 10°.
- Flushmount and Closemount installations are not available for this model.
- Ensure blades (R) are at least 30 in. from obstructions and the downrod (A) allows blades to be at least 7 ft. above the floor.
- Loosen and remove mounting bracket screws (J) from the mounting bracket (D) and canopy (E). Detach mounting bracket (D) from canopy (E).
- Secure the mounting bracket (D) to the outlet box using the provided outlet box screws and washers. CAUTION: Use proper hardware for the mounting bracket as it supports the fan.
- Remove the downrod pin (B) and downrod clip (C) from the downrod (A). Partially loosen set screws (K) in the yoke of the motor assembly (G).
Standard or Angle Mounting Instructions
- Insert the downrod (A) through the canopy (E) and yoke cover (L). Feed wires from the motor assembly (G) through the downrod (A).
- Slide the downrod (A) into the yoke of the motor assembly (G). Align holes, re-install downrod clip (C) and downrod pin (B). Secure with set screws (K) and slide yoke cover (L) down to the motor assembly (G).
- If necessary, cut lead wires. Pull lead wires through the top of the downrod. Measure 8 inches of lead wire and cut excess with wire cutters.
- Strip 1/2 inch of insulation from the wire ends. Twist stripped ends together with pliers. (Skip if lead wires were not cut).
- Install the ball end of the downrod (A) into the mounting bracket (D). Align the slot in the ball with the tab in the mounting bracket (D). DANGER: Misalignment can cause the fan to fall.
- Insert the remote receiver (N) into the mounting bracket (D) with the flat side facing the ceiling.
Wiring
WARNING: Use provided wire connectors for one 12-gauge house wire and two fan lead wires. Consult an electrician for other configurations.
CAUTION: Ensure the outlet box is properly grounded.
- Connect wires using wire connector (AA) and remote pack (N) connectors:
- Green fan wire and mounting bracket (D) wire to Bare/Green (ground) supply wire.
- Blue wire (FOR LIGHT) from receiver to Blue fan wire.
- Black wire (TO MOTOR L) from receiver to Black fan wire.
- White wire (TO MOTOR N) from receiver to White fan wire.
- Red wire (AC IN L) from receiver to Black (hot/power) supply wire.
- White (AC IN N) from receiver to White (neutral) supply wire.
- Secure all connections with wire connectors (AA).
- Wrap electrical tape around each wire connector (AA) down to the wire.
- Push wires and connectors (AA) into the outlet box. WARNING: Ensure no bare wire strands are visible. Place Green and White connections on opposite sides of the outlet box from the Black wire.
Final Installation
- Align canopy (E) over mounting bracket screws (J) and turn clockwise. Secure canopy (E) with mounting bracket screws (J) and tighten securely.
- Attach blades (R) to blade arms (Q) using blade screws (BB) and blade washers (CC). Tighten screws with a Phillips screwdriver. Repeat for all blades.
- Insert blade arm (Q) into the motor assembly (G). Align holes and secure with motor screws (XX). Repeat for all blade arms.
- Remove one fitter plate screw (I), loosen the other two. Connect the 9-pin connector from the fitter plate (H) to the light kit (O). Align key slots in the light kit (O) with the loosened screws (I). Place light kit (O) over screws, turn clockwise, and re-install the removed screw (I). Tighten all three screws securely.
- Install bulbs (M) into the light kit (O) sockets. Important: Allow bulbs and light kit to cool before replacing bulbs.
- Attach the glass bowl (P) to the light kit (O) by twisting clockwise until secure. CAUTION: Avoid cross-threading the glass.
