How to Connect a 4G Camera to Wi-Fi
Connecting Your 4G Camera to Wi-Fi
This guide explains how to connect your 4G camera to a Wi-Fi network. Please note that the Wi-Fi configuration cannot be done through the mobile app's 'WIFI settings'. Instead, you must configure the Wi-Fi through the 4G MIFI page.
If you are unsure how to access this page, please refer to the document titled "1- You need to know something first in the 4G camera! ! ".
Accessing the 4G MIFI Page
To configure your Wi-Fi settings, you need to access the 4G MIFI interface. This is typically done by entering an IP address into your web browser.
Example IP Address: 192.168.100.1
Upon accessing the MIFI page, you will see various settings and status information.
Key Sections on the 4G MIFI Page:
- Connect Status: Shows the current connection status.
- Network Settings: Allows configuration of network-related options, including Wireless Broadband Mode and Wi-Fi Settings.
- Connected Devices: Displays the number of devices currently connected.
- Status Information: Provides details such as SIM Card Number, IMEI, Signal Strength, and Network Name (SSID).
Configuring Wi-Fi Settings
Once on the 4G MIFI page:
- Navigate to the 'Wi-Fi Settings' section.
- Within Wi-Fi Settings, locate and click on 'Internet Wi-Fi'.
- Ensure 'Internet Wi-Fi Switch' is set to 'Enable'.
- Under 'Preferred Network', select 'Wi-Fi'.
- You will then proceed to the 'Wi-Fi Hotspot' section.
- Click the 'Add' button to add a new Wi-Fi network.
- Enter the Network Name (SSID) of your desired Wi-Fi network.
- Select the appropriate 'Security Mode' (e.g., WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK).
- Enter the 'Pass Phrase' (Wi-Fi password).
- Click 'Apply' to save the settings.
Confirmation of Connection
After applying the settings, the system should indicate "WIFI is connected". The relevant icon will also update to show the Wi-Fi connection mode.
Important Note on Network Preference
When the Wi-Fi is connected, your 4G camera will use the Wi-Fi network for internet access. If you wish for the camera to connect to the internet via the 4G SIM card instead, you must change the 'Preferred Network' setting to 'WWAN'.
