Operating Instructions
NOTE: Before using the tool, read the instruction book carefully.
Intended Use
The machine is intended for hammer drilling in concrete, brick, and stone. It is also suitable for drilling without impact in wood, metal, ceramic, and plastic.
Before Putting Into Operation
A) Charging the Battery Pack
- Use only the supplied charger matched to the Li-ion battery.
- The Li-ion battery pack is protected against deep discharging. The machine switches off automatically when the battery is empty.
- Allow the battery pack to cool down before charging if it is hot from use or warm environment.
- The battery pack will accept a 100% charge after several charge and discharge cycles, especially on first use or after prolonged storage.
B) To Remove or Install Battery Pack (See Fig. A)
- Press the battery pack release button to remove the pack.
- Slide the pack back in until it clicks securely.
Operation
1. Inserting and Removing Drill Bit in SDS
- Inserting: Clean and lightly oil the bit. Insert the dust-free bit into the bit holder with a twisting motion until it latches. Check by pulling the tool.
- Removing: Retract the bit holder locking sleeve and pull out the bit.
WARNING: Use only high-quality SDS bits, as inferior bits may break and jam.
2. Auxiliary Handle (See Fig. B)
- Slide the handle onto the hammer and rotate to the desired working position. Clamp by rotating the handle clockwise. Loosen by rotating counter-clockwise.
- Warning: Always use the auxiliary handle.
3. Adjustable Depth Gauge (See Fig. B)
- Loosen the depth gauge handle counter-clockwise.
- Slide the depth gauge until the distance between its end and the drill bit end matches the desired hole depth.
- Clamp the depth gauge by rotating the handle clockwise.
4. On/Off Switch (See Fig. C)
Depress the On/Off switch (5) to start and release to stop. The switch has variable speed control; pressure determines speed.
5. Switch Lock (See Fig. C)
The switch trigger can be locked in the OFF position by placing the direction of rotation control in the center position.
6. Forward and Reverse Rotation Control (See Fig. C)
- Forward: Push control to the left " ".
- Reverse: Push control to the right " ".
- WARNING: Never change direction while the tool is rotating. Wait until it has stopped.
7. Auxiliary Function on Tile
- Pressing the On/Off switch indicates if the auxiliary function light is on or off.
- For tile work: Press the auxiliary function button (10) first (green light indicates ON). Half-press the switch to begin pulse auxiliary operation. Once the glaze breaks, press the switch fully to drill.
- For other materials: Keep the auxiliary function button off for high efficiency.
Note: The auxiliary function on tile prevents unexpected splitting and replaces pre-drilling with a glass drill bit. It is only suitable for hammer drilling mode. Turn it off for drilling, chiseling, or chuck angle adjustment modes.
8. Function Mode Selection (See Fig. D)
- Use the function selector dial (4) to set the gearbox for different applications.
- Depress the unlocking button (a) and rotate the selector to choose the desired mode.
Mode Descriptions:
- Drilling with Impact: For concrete, brick, masonry.
- Drilling: For steel, wood, plastics.
- Chiseling: For demolition tasks.
- Chuck Angle Adjustment: For setting the chisel angle.
NOTE: For chuck angle adjustment, select this mode first, adjust the angle, then select the chiseling mode.
WARNING: The operating mode selector switch may only be actuated when the tool is at a standstill.
9. Overload Protection
If overloaded, the motor stops. Relieve the load and allow the machine to cool for approximately 30 seconds at the highest no-load speed.
10. Temperature Dependent Overload Protection
The electronic control switches off the power tool if the load is too high or the allowable battery temperature (75°C) is exceeded, until the temperature returns to the optimum range.
11. Protection Against Deep Discharging
The "Discharging Protection System" switches off the machine when the battery is empty, preventing deep discharge.
Working Hints for Your Tool
- If the tool overheats, set speed to maximum and run no-load for 2-3 minutes to cool the motor.
- Always use SDS-plus tungsten carbide drill bits for concrete and masonry.
- When drilling metal, use HSS drill bits in good condition. Use a pilot hole for large diameter holes.
Problem Solution
1. Reasons for Different Charging Times
Charging time can vary due to battery charge level, ambient temperature (cold or hot), and charger cooldown periods between charging multiple batteries.
2. Reasons for Inconsistent Battery Working Times
Working time can be affected by prior charge/discharge cycles, prolonged storage, and heavy working conditions. Avoid charging below 0°C and above 40°C.
Maintenance
- Remove the battery pack before performing any adjustments, servicing, or maintenance.
- The power tool requires no additional lubrication or maintenance.
- Never use water or chemical cleaners. Wipe clean with a dry cloth.
- Store the tool in a dry place. Keep motor ventilation slots clean and working controls free of dust.
- Occasional sparks through ventilation slots are normal.
For Battery Tools
- Operating temperature (tool & battery): -20°C to +60°C.
- Storage temperature (tool & battery): 0°C to +45°C.
- Recommended charging ambient temperature: 0°C-40°C.
