Safety Instructions

General Safety: These instructions are valid if the country symbol appears on the appliance. If not, refer to technical instructions for country-specific modifications. Use of the gas appliance produces heat, moisture, and combustion products; ensure the kitchen is well-ventilated with open ventilation holes or a mechanical extractor hood. Prolonged intensive use may require additional ventilation like opening a window or increasing mechanical ventilation.

Failure to follow instructions may cause fire or explosion, leading to property damage or personal injury. Read and keep safety instructions nearby. The manufacturer is not liable for failure to observe these instructions, inappropriate use, or incorrect control settings.

WARNING: Do not use if the hob surface is cracked (risk of electric shock). Do not store items on cooking surfaces (danger of fire). Cooking processes must be supervised, especially short ones. Unattended cooking with fat or oil is dangerous and poses a fire risk. Never extinguish a fire with water; switch off the appliance and cover the flame with a lid or fire blanket.

Do not use the hob as a work surface or support. Keep flammable materials away until components have cooled completely (risk of fire).

Child Safety: Very young children (0-3 years) must be kept away. Children (3-8 years) require continuous supervision. Children aged 8+ and persons with reduced capabilities can use the appliance only if supervised and instructed on safe use, understanding the hazards. Children must not play with the appliance. Cleaning and maintenance must not be done by unsupervised children.

CAUTION: In case of hotplate glass breakage: immediately shut off all burners and electrical elements, isolate the appliance from the power supply, do not touch the surface, and do not use the appliance. The glass lid can break if heated; turn off burners before closing. Do not close the lid when a burner is alight.

Daily Use

How to Use the Hob

Do not let the burner flame extend beyond the pan edge. The entire hob area may become hot during use.

To ignite a burner: Turn the knob anti-clockwise to the maximum flame setting. Press the knob against the control panel to ignite. Keep the knob pressed for 5-10 seconds for the safety device to operate. This device shuts off gas if the flame accidentally goes out. Do not press the knob for more than 15 seconds. If the burner does not stay lit, wait one minute before trying again.

NOTE: If ignition is difficult, try with a small flame setting. If the burner goes out when releasing the knob, the safety device may not have warmed up sufficiently; repeat the operation.

If the flame is accidentally extinguished, switch off the control and wait at least 1 minute before re-igniting.

Practical Advice for Using the Burners

Use pots and pans with bottoms matching or slightly larger than the burner diameter (see table). Use only flat-bottomed pots. Use the correct amount of water and keep pots covered. Ensure pots do not overhang the hob. For WOK pans, use the support grille (not provided) only on the multi-ring burner. Avoid accidental knocks. Do not leave empty steak grills over lit burners for more than 5 minutes.

IMPORTANT: Improper grid use can damage the hob; do not position grids upside down or slide them.

Pot Sizes:

Do not use: cast iron griddles, stones, terracotta pots, heat diffusers, or two burners simultaneously for one receptacle.

Liquids spilled on a hot hob can damage the glass.

Adapting to Different Types of Gas
