Ricoh Contributes to Greater Efficiency in Light Production Sector with New Generation of Digital Production Printers with Paper Feed
The new series offers several advancements, including an industry-first stapless binding option, enabling companies to strengthen their operations. From businesses to factories, marketing agencies to commercial printers, these machines allow for the production of professional documents in-house.
Ricoh Announces Launch of New Digital Production Printers with Paper Feed
MISSISSAUGA, ON, June 9, 2025 – Ricoh today announced the launch of its new digital production printers with paper feed, including the RICOH Pro C5400S and RICOH Pro C5410S (RICOH Pro C5400S Series). With professional-grade color output and precise duplex registration, the RICOH Pro C5400S Series presses deliver powerful print quality, rivaling high-volume presses, while remaining more compact and versatile. This allows companies such as marketing agencies to outsource less work and commercial printers to avoid short-run print jobs monopolizing larger production systems.
Building on the success of the RICOH Pro C5300S and RICOH Pro C5310S Series, the RICOH Pro C5400S Series inherits key features such as high-speed production and excellent paper handling, while offering significant improvements in base performance. The warm-up time has been drastically reduced to 26 seconds for the Pro C5410S and 30 seconds for the Pro C5400S, greatly improving user productivity. Scanning speed has also increased, and the adoption of a 10.1-inch capacitive touch screen significantly enhances the usability and operation of the control panel. Furthermore, this series offers a stapless binding option, an industry first, for the SR5130 and SR5140 finishing units that use water to moisten the sheets and bind them, allowing up to 16 sheets to be bound without staples (80 gsm / 20 lb bond paper). This reduces injuries and waste caused by staples, and makes paper shredding and recycling easier.
Enhanced Performance and Versatility
With its high image quality, versatile media handling capabilities, and print speeds of up to 80 PPM, the RICOH Pro C5400S Series meets a wide range of demands in light production applications, helping customers grow their revenue. In-house and franchise print shops can expand their services with better support for coated, specialty, and synthetic media up to 360 g/m², adding immediate value to their operations with a system that can act as a hub in their production environment. Additionally, the extended base specifications improve usability in office environments, contributing to optimized operational efficiency.
For print service providers and commercial printers, the RICOH Pro C5400S Series offers a high-quality, light production printing device with improved image registration accuracy, thanks to better paper feed stability and more precise image adjustment functions. Additionally, the enhanced user interface for paper settings ensures consistent print quality, providing solid support for professional printing operations.
“The RICOH Pro C5400S Series represents our latest innovation in light production printing,” said Gavin Jordan-Smith, Senior Vice President, Global Head of Sales Strategy, Ricoh USA, RICOH Graphic Communications. “Designed to deliver superior color quality, efficiency, and reliability, the series incorporates essential elements from many of our larger paper-feed platforms, but in a more compact form factor, allowing businesses to expand their printing applications and produce professional-quality output from the comfort of their office or shop, or to offload other systems in their production facility. We remain committed to pushing the boundaries of production printing technology, and this launch represents the next step in meeting our customers’ evolving needs.”
The RICOH Pro C5400S Series is currently being showcased at IPMA 2025, from June 8-12, at the Davenport Grand Hotels in Spokane, WA. Attendees can visit the Ricoh booth to learn more about the new series, as well as Ricoh’s full range of production and commercial printing technologies and solutions.
Key Features and Benefits of the RICOH Pro C5400S Series
For Businesses
- Enhanced usability and efficiency for office environments.
Faster Start-up and Production
- Faster start-up and production: Warm-up time of 26 seconds*¹ for the Pro C5410S and 30 seconds*¹ for the Pro C5400S. Reduced first color output time to 6.5 seconds*¹ for the Pro C5410S and 7.2 seconds*¹ for the Pro C5400S.
- Improved scanning speed*³: Up to 300 pages per minute duplex scanning. New AI-powered orientation detection and support for continuous small document scanning, such as business cards, thereby improving workflow efficiency.
- 10.1-inch Android-based smart operation panel, upgraded with capacitive technology for a better touch response, enhancing usability.
Versatile Multimedia Capability and Advanced Finishing Options
- Supports various media types, including coated paper, waterproof paper, envelopes, transparencies, and long sheet printing up to 51 inches (1,300 mm), increasing the range of possible productions.
- Stapless binding functionality, an industry first*². Uses water to moisten and bind sheets, allowing up to 16 sheets to be bound without staples*⁴, ideal for environments where safety is paramount, such as restaurants and educational institutions like kindergartens and nursing homes. No consumables are needed and it allows for easy waste sorting during disposal, respecting the environment.
- Compact folding unit: The paper folding option has been reduced in width to approximately 8.22 inches, less than half of the previous model, allowing for a space-saving design. It supports coated paper folding and tri-folding of long sheets, expanding the types of tasks and activities compatible for customers.
For Commercial Printing
- Advanced functionality for stable, high-quality output.
- New optional envelope fuser unit: Operator-installed and user-friendly, it offers improved envelope print quality and print speed, thus reducing waste associated with envelope printing and increasing productivity.
- Improved paper transport stability: The new redesigned high-capacity input tray (LCIT) with vacuum feed increases paper transport stability and significantly improves image registration accuracy for duplex and long sheet printing.
- Advanced image alignment: Trapezoid and right-angle correction functions for even greater precision in image alignment.
- Enhanced paper setting user interface: Operators can easily adjust and program paper settings for optimal print performance based on their print application, further improving overall output quality.
- Simplified transfer condition adjustment: Output setting tables (print samples) for multiple transfer conditions, allowing users to select the desired result, streamlining setup and minimizing pre-press.
- Wide selection of inline finishers: Option to add the new GBC StreamPunch™™ Plus to support more binding and punching applications, and new finishers from the Plockmatic 435e Series for creating saddle-stitched booklets.
