Part numbers of the recommended engine oils have changed. This bulletin provides quick reference charts to identify new engine oil part numbers and viscosities for various BMW models and model years.

Use the quick reference chart in Section 1 to help identify which new engine oil part numbers should be used when the old part number stock is depleted.

Use the quick reference chart in Section 2 to help identify which new engine oil viscosities and part numbers should be used in Model Year 2016 and newer vehicles.

Section 2: 2016 Model Year and Newer Recommended Engine Oil Quick Reference Chart

As of approximately 7/2015 production, gasoline and diesel engine equipped vehicles have a new engine oil viscosity label (located on underside of engine compartment lid) recommending a new zero weight viscosity engine oil.

All MY16 and later gasoline engine vehicles will require either 0W-20, LL-14 FE+ or 0W-30, LL-01 FE viscosity oils.
