Important Warnings
- This respirator does not supply oxygen (O2). Use only in adequately ventilated areas without oxygen deficiency and that do not contain explosive atmospheres.
- The correct type of filter must be chosen according to the concentration and type of contaminant. Do not use in environments where the contaminant concentration is immediately dangerous to life or health (IDLH).
- Two filters must be placed on each respirator.
- Must not be used for protection against carbon monoxide under any circumstances.
- The respirator must not be modified or altered.
- This respirator with filters cannot be used in containers, wells, sewers, or closed spaces with no ventilation.
- Do not use with beards or any other elements on the user's face which might prevent a proper seal.
- Leave the work area immediately in case of respirator damage, breathing difficulty, dizziness, or nausea.
Before Use
- Ensure the respirator has all its parts: harness and straps, inhalation and exhalation valves.
- Verify the respirator is in perfect condition, with no signs of dirt, breakage, cracks, or bumps. If damaged, the respirator must be disposed of.
- Confirm the chosen filter is appropriate for the intended use.
- Ensure two units of the same type of filter are available for each respirator.
Assembly Instructions
Match the plastic filter connector with the filter-holder on the respirator. Press and turn the filter clockwise until fully engaged. Repeat for the second filter.
Donning and Face Fitting Instructions
- Adjust the size of the plastic head cradle for a comfortable fit on your head.
- Place the head cradle over your head with the arrow pointing forward.
- Hold the ends of the bottom elastic straps with one hand and slide the facepiece up onto your face, covering your mouth and nose.
- Grasp the ends of the straps, place them at the back of the neck, and hook them together. Adjust strap tension by pulling the strap ends until a secure and comfortable fit is obtained. Strap tension can be decreased by pushing out on the back side of the buckles.
Face Fit Check
Positive Pressure Face Fit Check
Cover the exhalation valve with your hand. Exhale gently to create overpressure and ensure no air leaks are detected.
Negative Pressure Face Fit Check
- When using cartridges, place hands to cover the face of the cartridge and inhale. If there are no leaks, you will feel the respirator is sealed to your face.
- When using P3 filters, place thumbs onto the center of the filters and inhale. If there are no leaks, you will feel the respirator is sealed to your face.
- If a leak is detected, reposition the respirator, adjust the straps, and repeat the seal checks.
- If a proper face fit cannot be achieved, do not enter a contaminated area. Consult with an Occupational Safety Expert.
To remove the respirator: Loosen elastic straps, unbuckle bottom straps, and remove the harness from your head.
Storage
Store the respirator without filters in a hermetically sealed bag at room temperature, in a dry place away from contaminants.
Cleaning and Disinfection
- Remove filters before cleaning the respirator.
- Clean the respirator with a wet cloth. Immerse in warm water solution (not exceeding 50°C) with a neutral detergent.
- Rinse with warm water and air dry in a contaminant-free environment.
DO NOT CLEAN WITH SOLVENTS, STRONG DETERGENTS, OR PETROLEUM-BASED PRODUCTS.
Maintenance
To maintain the respirator in the best condition, perform the following after each use:
- Clean and store completely dry in a hermetically sealed bag without filters.
- Check inhalation and exhalation valves. Keep them clean and ensure they are not distorted.
- Ensure the elasticity of the straps has not decreased.
