External Devices Screen

This screen allows you to allow or block external devices from accessing your receiver or viewing the program you are currently watching. It features options for "External Access" and "Current Program", both typically set to "Allow".

Smart Search Screen

The "Smart Search" screen enables you to enter a title, person, channel, or category using an on-screen keypad. It displays receiver information such as name, model, and connection status ("SWIM Connected", "Internet Connected"). An [OK button] is present to confirm input.

Account Registration Screens

These screens guide the user through creating an online ID and password. Fields include "Last name/business name", options to enter two of three fields (e.g., "Last 4 digits on card"), and fields for setting up an email ID and password, including password confirmation and an option to save the user ID on the device.

DIRECTV Sign-In Screen

A standard sign-in screen for DIRECTV, featuring fields for "User ID" and "Password", with links for [Forgot User ID link], [Forgot Password link], and "Don't have a user ID? [Create Account link]".

What commercial account types may use the DIRECTV FOR BUSINESS™ Remote App?

The app is intended for Public, Business, and Private Viewing segments.

What equipment is required?

The customer/account must have compatible DIRECTV® HD Receivers (models H21, H23, H24, H25, H44, HR20, HR21, HR22, HR23, and/or HR24). Receivers must be broadband connected with a DIRECTV Ethernet to Coax Adapter (DECA) and a Wireless Router. Compatible devices include iPads running iOS 12.1 & above and Android tablets running Android 7.1 & above.

Is a version available for other devices (iPhones, Android phones, and Amazon devices)?

Currently, the app is only available for compatible iPads and Android tablets.

Are there any minimum programming or package requirements?

HD service is required to use the DIRECTV FOR BUSINESS™ Remote App.

Does the app work with all DIRECTV platforms and equipment?

A SWIM network is required, along with compatible DIRECTV HD Receivers. The app will not work with COM Systems or other headend solutions.

What does "Connected Receiver" mean?

Because the app uses the internet to communicate with receivers, they must be connected to the internet via a local network. To achieve this, customers must use a DIRECTV Ethernet to Coax Adapter (DECA), also known as a Commercial Connection Kit (CCK).

Why is a wireless router required for the DIRECTV FOR BUSINESS™ Remote App?

Tablets require wireless internet access to interact with DIRECTV-connected receivers. Both the tablet and the receivers must be connected to the same local network to operate.

Is this the same app as residential?

No, the DIRECTV FOR BUSINESS™ Remote App is specific to DIRECTV commercial accounts.

I received the following error message when trying to register my account at directv.com/myaccount/registration: "We could not find your DIRECTV account. Please check that all the information you entered is correct."

Ensure the business name in the "Last Name/Business Name" field is entered exactly as it appears on the DIRECTV account. Issues can arise from extra spaces, missing special characters, differing case types, or misspelled names.

I need to update my email address or password but receive an error message when logging into DIRECTV FOR BUSINESS™ Remote App.

Update your username (email address) and password at directv.com, then select [Sign In button] and [Manage profile]. If issues persist, call DIRECTV at 888.388.4249 for assistance.
