Assembly
Image Description: Diagrams illustrate the assembly process for the DP 730 piano.
First, remove all individual parts from the outer packaging.
Mount two legs on each of the two support plates. Provide the corresponding holes of the holding plates with a dowel, then insert the matching leg and fix it with two hexagon socket screws each. Align the L1, L2, R1, and R2 stickers on the legs and plates to ensure correct positioning.
Carefully place the console (1) upside down on a soft surface.
Securely fasten the mounting plates with the assembled support legs (2) to the console using the six plastic head screws (3).
Lift the instrument and place it on its legs. Caution: Have a second person assist with lifting and turning the instrument to avoid putting weight on one side of the legs.
Connections
Image Description: Diagram showing the connection panel on the underside of the piano.
Connection Panel on the Underside:
- USB to Host: Connects the piano to a computer using a USB A-to-B cable.
- MIDI In/Out: MIDI Out allows sending MIDI data to an external MIDI-capable device. MIDI In allows receiving MIDI data from an external signal source.
- Audio In: Connects an external music source to play through the piano's speakers.
- Audio Out: Connects the piano to a music amplifier.
- Power supply socket: Connect the supplied power supply unit's hollow plug to the instrument's socket, then connect the unit to the power socket. Use only the supplied power supply.
Controls and Headphone Jacks
Image Description: Diagram showing the controls and headphone jacks on the underside.
- Power: The power switch turns the instrument on. The piano features high-quality piano sound created using digital audio analog sampling. Turn off the instrument when not in use to save energy.
- Auto Power Off: This function automatically turns the piano off if it is not used for an extended period to save power.
- Volume: This knob adjusts the volume of the piano playing.
- Headphone Jacks (Headphones): Two headphone jacks are available for simultaneous use. Connecting headphones to either jack disables the instrument's speakers. Ensure the volume setting is appropriate; excessive volume or prolonged headphone use can cause hearing damage.
Bluetooth
- Bluetooth Audio: Connect the piano to a mobile device via Bluetooth for wireless audio playback. The Bluetooth name is "DP-730", PIN 0000.
- Bluetooth MIDI: Send MIDI data to a mobile device via Bluetooth to use the keyboard as an input medium for MIDI-enabled apps (e.g., GarageBand). Select the instrument (DP-730) as a Bluetooth input device in the app settings.
Keyboard Slide
Image Description: Diagram showing the operation of the keyboard slide.
The DP-730 features a unique keyboard slide that allows the keyboard to retract, protecting it from dust and other factors, and allowing the instrument to blend discreetly into room design. To open, pull out the keyboard slide (1) by the handle as far as it will go and fold down the keyboard panel (2). To close, reverse the procedure.
Functionality of the Pedals
Image Description: Diagram of the three-pedal unit.
The instrument includes a lightweight and stable three-pedal unit, connectable via a multipin cable.
- Sustain: The right pedal simulates lifting all dampers on a grand piano, allowing struck strings to continue sounding after a key is released, creating a fuller tone.
- Sostenuto: The middle pedal simulates lifting individual dampers, allowing notes struck just before pedal application to sustain. Notes played after pedal application remain staccato (short).
- Soft: The left pedal simulates shifting the touch action on a grand piano, producing a muted and quieter sound. This effect is subtle and most noticeable when used with the Sustain pedal.
Troubleshooting
If a malfunction occurs, check the following:
Error | Cause | Solution |
---|
The piano does not turn on | 1. Power cord not plugged in. 2. Instrument switched off by Auto Power Off. 3. Socket has no power. | 1. Plug in the power cord correctly. 2. Press the power switch several times. 3. Use a different socket. |
The piano does not emit sound from the speakers | 1. Volume set to the lowest value. 2. Headphone (adapter) plugged into headphone jack. 3. Power cord not plugged in. | 1. Increase the volume setting. 2. Remove the headphone (adapter) from the headphone jack. 3. Plug the instrument into a power outlet. |
The instrument emits noise | 1. Devices with interference properties (e.g., freezer, washing machine) nearby. 2. Objects on or near the instrument resonate. 3. Noise occurs only when using headphones. | 1. Remove the piano from the vicinity of other electrical appliances (especially those with motors). 2. Remove resonating objects from the environment of the piano. 3. Clean the headphone plug or replace the headphone. |
