Product Overview
This document provides instructions for the Marta electric food dryer, model series MFD-820. It covers operation, safety, cleaning, and food preparation guidelines.
Safety Precautions
- Read this manual carefully before using the appliance and save it for future reference.
- Before the first use, check the device specifications and the power supply in your network.
- Use only for domestic purposes according to the instruction manual. It is not intended for industrial use.
- For indoor use only.
- Do not use with damaged cord, plug, or other injuries.
- Keep the power cord away from sharp edges and hot surfaces.
- Do not pull the cord. Always take the socket. Do not reel the cord around the device housing.
- Never attempt to disassemble and repair the item by yourself. If you encounter problems, please contact the nearest customer service center.
- Using accessories or replacement parts that are not recommended or sold by the manufacturer may cause damage to the item.
- Always unplug the item and let it cool down before cleaning and removing parts. Keep unplugged when not in use.
- To avoid electric shock and fire, do not immerse in water or other liquids. If this occurs, immediately unplug it and contact a service center for inspection.
- Do not place drying trays containing products dripping with water on the heat-and ventilation unit.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
- This product is a wind circulation heating product. Foreign bodies in the inlets at the bottom of the unit can cause damage.
- It is strictly prohibited to move the product while it is working. It is forbidden to obstruct the ventilation openings.
- Use and store the drier away from sources of heat (e.g., kitchen stove). It is forbidden to expose the drier to temperatures higher than 90°C.
- Do not work with the appliance for longer than 72 hours continuously.
- It is necessary to place heat-resistant material under the appliance during use or place the appliance onto a heat-resistant surface.
Before First Use
- Wash the drying trays and the lid in warm soapy water.
- Clean the heating and ventilation with a damp cloth and wipe dry.
- Dry all parts thoroughly after cleaning.

Purpose of the Appliance
The electric dryer is designed for drying vegetables, fruits, mushrooms, and herbs.
Operation
- Place the appliance on a flat, stable, and heat-resistant surface, away from heat sources and places where water may get onto the appliance.
- When placing the appliance, ensure that decorative coatings, electronic devices, and other items that may be damaged by high temperatures are not nearby.
- Arrange products in an even layer on the trays. To ensure proper air circulation, make sure the products do not touch each other.
- Be careful when arranging products: food particles falling onto the heating element's protective disc can lead to overheating and fire.
- Stack the trays as shown in diagram 1. If you need more space between trays, stack them as shown in diagram 2.
- Note: Drying time for the upper trays will be longer. You must install at least three trays, even if you are only loading one.
- Close the lid.
- Connect the appliance to the power outlet. A sound signal will be heard, and the appliance will enter standby mode (display shows ----).
- To start the drying process, press the power button. The display will show the default temperature, and the °C indicator will light up.
- To set the drying time, press the menu button. The display will show the timer settings, and the indicator will light up.
- Adjust the time using the '+' and '-' buttons.
- Use the '+' and '-' buttons to set the desired auto-shutoff time.
- Note: It is recommended to periodically swap the lower trays with the upper ones for even drying. The trays get hot during operation; do not touch them with bare hands.
- After the drying process is complete, the appliance will return to standby mode. You can interrupt the drying process at any time by pressing the power button.
Recommendations for Drying Various Products
The drying times provided in this manual are approximate and may vary depending on room temperature, product moisture content, and piece thickness.
Fruits
- Some fruits may be coated with wax or treated with chemicals. In such cases, blanch them in boiling water, wash in cold running water, and pat dry.
- Remove pits and spoiled areas.
- Cut into pieces.
- To prevent fruits from browning, dip the cut pieces in natural lemon or pineapple juice, let sit for a few minutes, then pat dry and arrange on the trays.
- For added aroma, you can add cinnamon or vanilla.
Vegetables
- It is recommended to blanch vegetables in boiling water, then rinse in cold water and pat dry.
- Remove pits and spoiled areas. Cut into pieces.
Herbs
- It is recommended to dry young leaves and shoots.
- After drying, place herbs in paper bags or glass containers and store in a cool place.
Storage of Dried Fruits
- Do not store warm or hot products. Let them cool down.
- Storage containers should be clean and dry.
- For best preservation, store dried fruits in glass containers with metal lids in a dry, cool place at a temperature of 5-20°C.
- During the first week after drying, check the moisture content in the containers. If moisture is present, the products were not dried sufficiently and need to be dried again.

Preparation of Products for Drying
Fruits
- Preliminary preparation of fruits preserves their natural color, taste, and aroma.
- Apricots: Halve, remove pits, and place cut-side up.
- Pineapple (fresh): Peel, slice.
- Bananas: Peel, slice (3-4 mm thick).
- Grapes: Whole.
- Figs: Halve.
- Cherries: Whole.
- Pears: Peel and halve.
- Peaches: Halve, remove pit when fruit is half-dried.
- Apples: Peel, remove core, and cut into pieces or slices.
Vegetables
- It is recommended to blanch beans, cauliflower, broccoli, asparagus, and potatoes before drying. Place vegetables in boiling water for 3-5 minutes. Drain the water, slightly dry the vegetables, and place them in the electric dryer.
- If you want to add a lemon flavor to vegetables like green beans, asparagus, etc., soak them in lemon juice for 2 minutes.

Dried Meat
Ingredients:
- Beef – 500 g
- Soy sauce – 100 ml
- Adjika – 20 g
- Spices
Preparation:
Wash the meat, trim fat, films, and veins. Slice across the grain into 0.5 cm thick plates. Marinate the prepared meat in a mixture of soy sauce, adjika, and spices. Refrigerate for 6-8 hours. Drain excess marinade. Place trays on the base of the electric dryer, arrange the marinated meat evenly, and cover with the main lid. Set the temperature to 70°C and turn on the dryer for 6-10 hours, depending on the desired consistency. The number of trays used depends on the amount of product.
Dried Fish
Ingredients:
- Cod (fillet) – 500 g
- Lemon juice – 50 ml
- Salt – 50 g
- Black ground pepper
Preparation:
Wash and pat dry the fish. Slice across the grain into 0.5 cm thick strips. Marinate the prepared fish in a mixture of salt, pepper, lemon juice, and refrigerate for 4-6 hours. Drain excess marinade. Place trays on the base of the dryer, arrange the prepared fish evenly, and cover with the main lid. Set the temperature to 70°C and turn on the dryer for 6-10 hours, depending on the desired consistency. The number of trays used depends on the amount of product.
Dried Poultry
Ingredients:
- Turkey (fillet) – 500 g
- Garlic – 30 g
- Cognac – 50 ml
- Salt – 30 g
- Sugar – 20 g
- Paprika, dried, ground
Preparation:
Wash and pat dry the turkey. Slice across the grain into 0.5 cm thick pieces. Grate the garlic finely. Marinate the prepared turkey in a mixture of cognac, garlic, salt, spices, and refrigerate for 4-6 hours. Drain excess marinade. Place trays on the base of the dryer, arrange the prepared turkey evenly, and cover with the main lid. Set the temperature to 70°C and turn on the dryer for 6-10 hours, depending on the desired consistency. The number of trays used depends on the amount of product.
Fermented Dairy Products (Yogurt, Sour Cream, Ryazhenka)
Ingredients:
- Base product (milk, cream, baked milk) – 1 L
- Starter culture for Yogurt, Sour Cream, or Ryazhenka – 1 sachet
Preparation:
In a clean container, mix the base product with the starter culture in the ratio indicated on the starter culture packaging. Pour the finished mixture into cups. Place 1 tray on the base of the electric dryer, arrange the cups with the product on it, and cover with the main lid. Set the temperature to 40°C and turn on the dryer for 6-12 hours, depending on the starter culture manufacturer's recommendations. Refrigerate the finished product for 3 hours.
Dough Proofing
Knead the dough according to your chosen recipe. Transfer it to a container that fits the diameter of the electric dryer. The container size should accommodate the dough's rise. Enameled or steel containers are recommended for proofing. Place 1 tray on the base of the electric dryer, place the container with dough on it, and cover with the main lid. Set the temperature to 40°C and turn on the dryer. The approximate proofing time is 1 hour, after which the dough should be kneaded again, and the process repeated.
Energy Bar from Dried Fruits and Nuts
Ingredients:
- Dried apricots – 150 g
- Prunes – 150 g
- Pine nuts – 50 g
- Walnuts – 50 g
Preparation:
Wash and finely chop the dried fruits, then process them in a blender. Crush the nuts in a mortar and mix with the fruit mass. Form bars of any shape from the resulting mass. Place 1 tray on the base of the electric dryer, arrange the formed bars evenly, and cover with the main lid. Set the temperature to 50-70°C and turn on the dryer for 6-10 hours, depending on the desired consistency. The number of trays used depends on the amount of product.
Cleaning and Care
- Always unplug the appliance before cleaning.
- Never immerse the motor unit housing, power cord, or plug in water or other liquids. Wipe the housing with a damp cloth.
- Do not use abrasive cleaning agents to clean the appliance.
Storage and Transportation
- Ensure the appliance is unplugged and completely cool before storing. Follow the cleaning and care instructions before putting the appliance away.
- Storage conditions: store at positive temperatures and a humidity level not exceeding 80%. Shelf life is unlimited.
- Ensure the packaging is protected during transportation.
Disposal
Disposal is carried out in accordance with general rules for the sale of goods and services and the Law "On Consumer Rights Protection".
Disposal Rules and Conditions
Packaging, user manual, and the appliance itself must be disposed of in accordance with local waste recycling programs. Do not dispose of such items with regular household waste.
