Quick Start Guide

The VTech 7” Smart Wi-Fi 1080p Pan & Tilt Monitor allows you to stay close to your baby when you are on the move or away. This monitor uses your home wireless network to stream live video and audio. You can also monitor from your smartphone and mobile tablet using the MyVTech Baby Pro app.

What’s in the box

Your HD video monitor package contains the following items. Save your sales receipt and original packaging in the event warranty service is necessary.

How the system works

The parent unit and baby unit connect directly by default (Direct mode). For enhanced functionality and mobile access, set up your monitor in Router mode using your home Wi-Fi network.

Direct mode: Parent unit and baby unit connect directly. Live video streaming from parent unit only.

Router mode: Parent unit and baby unit connect via home Wi-Fi network. Supports live video streaming through the parent unit and smartphone app. Recommended for enhanced connection and remote monitoring.

Protect your privacy and online security

VTech recommends the following best practices to keep your wireless connection private and your devices protected:

• Ensure your wireless connection is secure (WPA2-PSK with AES).
• Change your router’s default network name (SSID) and passwords to unique, strong passwords.
• Keep your devices up to date with the latest security patches.
• Disable Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) on your router.

Parent unit overview

• 1 LINK LED light: On when linked to baby unit; flashes when link is lost.
• 2 LED light: On when connected to AC power and charging; flashes when battery is low.
• 3 3-level sound indicator light: Indicates sound level detected by the baby unit (Green: low, Green/Amber: moderate, Green/Amber/Red: high).
• 4 TALK / : Press and hold to talk to the baby unit. Press to exit a submenu.
• 5 : Press to zoom in/out. Press to view help menu.
• 6 Arrow keys: Navigate menus and move zoomed image.
• 7 MENU/SELECT: Enter main menu, choose/save settings.
• 8 - VOL/ VOL +: Adjust parent unit speaker volume.
• 9 Microphone
• 10 POWER / LCD ON/OFF: Press and hold to power on/off. Press to turn LCD screen on/off.

Baby unit overview

Connect, charge and power on the baby monitor

• Parent unit battery: The rechargeable battery is built-in. Charge for 12 hours before first use. The battery icon becomes solid when fully charged. Connect to AC power for continuous monitoring.
• Baby unit: Slide the switch to ON to power on. The status LED turns on and then off by default.

Main Menu Options

• Night light: Turn on/off, select color.
• Melodies and soothing sounds: Play melodies/sounds, set timer.
• Alerts: Turn on/off sound, motion, temperature alerts. Adjust sensitivity and temperature format (°F/°C).
• Parent unit settings: Adjust screen brightness, alert tones, dim mode, language.
• Baby unit settings: Select night vision mode, turn status LED on/off, adjust speaker volume, update security key.
• General settings: Configure Wi-Fi, connect mobile phone, reset settings, software update.

Status Icons

• Direct mode: Parent unit and baby unit connected directly.
• Router mode: Parent unit and baby unit connected via home Wi-Fi network.
• Night vision: Black and white or colour activated.
• Motion detection alert: Turned on.
• Sound detection alert: Turned on.
• Melodies/sounds playing: Indicator.
• Night light: On.
• Muted: Parent unit speaker is muted.
• Temperature alert: Turned on.
• Humidity: Indicates humidity level (low, normal, high).
• Temperature: Indicates temperature (low, normal, high).
• Battery level indicator: Shows battery status.

Basic Operation

• Talk to your baby: Press and hold TALK, speak into the parent unit. Release to hear your baby.
• Zoom: Press to zoom in or out.
• Adjust speaker volume: Press -VOL / VOL+ to adjust volume.
• Use the menu: Press MENU to enter the main menu, navigate with arrow keys, and select with SELECT. Press TALK / to exit.
• Turn on/off parent unit screen: Press POWER to turn off the screen. Press any key to turn it on again.
• Adjust baby unit speaker volume: Navigate to Baby unit settings > Volume.
• Adjust night light: Tap the night light control key on the baby unit. Tap and hold to adjust brightness.

Mount the baby unit (optional)

Follow these steps to wall mount the baby unit:

1. Mark holes on the wall, drill holes (5.5mm drill bit), and insert wall anchors if necessary.
2. Align the wall mount bracket with the holes and secure with screws.
3. Place the baby unit on the bracket and slide it forward to lock.
4. Adjust the baby unit's viewing angle by rotating the knob on the bracket.
5. Connect the power adaptor to the baby unit.

Note: Ensure good reception strength and baby unit angle before drilling. Screws and anchors may need to be purchased separately.

Test the sound level and position the HD video monitor

• Positioning: Place the baby unit more than 1 meter away from the baby. Adjust the angle to aim at the baby. Ensure a distance of more than 3 meters between the baby unit and parent unit to avoid feedback, or lower the parent unit volume.
• Sound level testing: Increase parent unit speaker volume if sounds from the baby unit are not audible.

Download app for mobile access

1. Install the MyVTech Baby Pro mobile app from the App Store or Google Play Store.
2. Create a user account and activate it via email.
3. Pair the camera by following instructions in the app and on the parent unit (scan QR code from parent unit).

Minimum requirement: Android 6.0 or later; iOS 11.0 or later.

Auto software and firmware update

Connect your HD video monitor to your secured home Wi-Fi network to receive the latest updates. Updates can be checked and performed via the parent unit menu ( > Software Update).

General product care

• Avoid placing the unit near heating appliances or devices that generate electrical noise.
• Do not expose to direct sunlight or moisture.
• Avoid dropping the product or treating it roughly.
• Clean with a soft damp cloth. Do not immerse in water.
• Ensure units are dry before connecting to mains.
• Clean USB charging ports regularly.

This warranty is valid for the UK and Ireland only. For products purchased outside these regions, contact your local distributor.

The product is covered by a one-year warranty against defects in materials or workmanship. Return the product with proof of purchase to the place of purchase or VTech Electronics Europe Plc. VTech will replace defective products at their discretion. This warranty is void if the product is damaged due to misuse, modification, unauthorized repair, or faulty batteries.

LCD screen breakages are not covered.
