Installation and Commissioning

Preparation and Tools:

Before installation, review all safety regulations (from page 14). Required tools may include a screwdriver, drill, hammer, and specific bits (e.g., PZ1, TX20, CPZ1).

Mounting:

The charging station must be securely mounted on a wall or compatible post. Ensure the mounting surface covers the entire back of the unit. The unit should be installed between 1.00 and 1.45 meters above the ground.

Electrical Connection:

The go-e Charger CORE must be permanently connected to an AC power supply. Installation must be performed by a qualified electrician, following all local, regional, and national regulations. Ensure the power cable is correctly routed and undamaged. The unit is classified as a Mode 3 charging device.

Grid Connection Variants:

Safety and Compliance Notes

General Safety:

The go-e Charger CORE is designed for charging battery electric vehicles (BEV) and plug-in hybrids (PHEV). Disregarding safety regulations can lead to serious consequences. go-e GmbH is not liable for damages resulting from misuse or non-compliance. Avoid touching the unit or cable if unusual heat develops. Never cover the charger during operation, as heat buildup can cause fire. Users with electronic implants should maintain a distance of at least 60 cm due to electromagnetic fields.

Electrical Safety:

High voltage is present; danger to life! Never use the charger if the enclosure, plug, or cable is damaged or open. Electric shock can be fatal. Installation and electrical work must be performed by qualified electricians only. Ensure the circuit is de-energized before connection work. The unit is classified as Class III equipment for protection against electric shock.

Residual Current Devices (RCD):

A qualified electrician must install the product. The CORE has a built-in residual current detection module (20mA AC and 6mA DC), but a separate RCD (at least Type A) must be installed upstream. National regulations may impose additional requirements.

Environmental Conditions:

Observe permissible ambient conditions. The charger is suitable for indoor and outdoor use, but a location without direct sunlight is recommended. It is designed for charging in well-ventilated rooms and must not be used indoors if there is a risk of ammonia gases. Avoid proximity to flammable substances, running water, or heat-emitting equipment.

Ground Check Function:

The unit has a safety function that prevents charging if the power connection is not properly grounded (in TT/TN grids). This function can be deactivated via the go-e app if you are certain the grid has no earth connection (IT grid), but this is generally not recommended.

Charging Plug:

The charging cable and plug are permanently attached. Never use the plug if wet or dirty. Ensure contacts are clean and dry before use. Grip the plug to remove it from the vehicle; never pull the cable. Adapters, conversion adapters, and cable extensions are not permitted.

Maintenance and Repair:

Modifications or repairs must only be performed by authorized go-e GmbH personnel. Tampering or opening the unit voids the warranty. The go-e Charger CORE is maintenance-free. Cleaning can be done with a damp cloth; do not use cleaning agents or solvents, or high-pressure cleaners.

Disposal:

Dispose of the device according to WEEE directive and national regulations at designated collection points. Recycle packaging.
