Mode Switch
The keyboard features a physical switch for selecting the connection mode:
- 2.4G Mode: Position the switch to [2.4G].
- Bluetooth Mode: Position the switch to [B].
- USB Wired Mode: Position the switch to [OFF].
Connection Ports
The keyboard has a Type-C port for wired connection and charging, and a storage slot for the USB dongle.
Connection Instructions
2.4GHz Wireless Connection
- Set the switch mode to [2.4G].
- Take out the dongle from the storage slot and insert it into the USB port of your computer.
- Manual Pairing: If the device is not pre-paired, press and hold [FN+~] for 3 seconds until the indicator light flashes rapidly. Then, insert the dongle into the computer's USB port. The indicator will stay on for 2 seconds upon successful connection.
Bluetooth Wireless Connection
- Set the switch mode to [B].
- Press and hold [FN+1!] to start pairing. The indicator light will flash rapidly during pairing.
- On your device, search for the wireless device name [MCHOSE G87 3.0] or [MCHOSE G87 5.0] and click to connect.
- Press [FN+1!], [FN+2@], or [FN+3#] to switch between paired devices.
Wired Connection
- Set the switch mode to [OFF].
- Insert the Type-C end of the USB cable into the keyboard and the USB end into your computer.
Software and Drivers
- Web Driver: Visit http://www.mchose.io. Click [Initialize Device], then [Allow Browser Access], and select your product model to connect.
- Desktop Driver: Visit the MCHOSE Official Store at www.mchose.store. Click [Drivers & Firmwares], select your product model, and download/install the driver. (Note: Desktop driver is compatible with Windows systems only.)
Keyboard Indicators and Controls
- CAPS Lock Indicator: Shows the status of the Caps Lock key. It remains on when Caps Lock is active.
- WIN Indicator: Shows the status of the WIN key lock. It remains on when the WIN key is locked, disabling its function.
- Multimedia Knob: Turn right for volume up (+), turn left for volume down (-), press to mute.
- Restore Default Settings: Press and hold [ESC] for 3 seconds.
Win/Mac Mode Switching
- Press [FN+W] for Windows Mode.
- Press [FN+E] for Mac Mode. In Mac Mode, the ALT key functions as the Command key, and F1-F12 keys function as standard F1-F12 keys.
- Switching to Mac mode will swap the Win key and left Alt key, and F1-F12 keys will function as multimedia keys.
Lighting Functions
- Press [INS] to switch lighting modes.
- Press [DEL] to switch lighting colors.
- Press [FN + ↑] to increase lighting brightness.
- Press [FN + ↓] to decrease lighting brightness.
- Press [FN + →] to increase lighting speed.
- Press [FN + ←] to decrease lighting speed.
Battery Management
Battery Status
In 2.4G/Wireless mode (when USB is not connected), press [FN+B] to check the keyboard's battery level. The number keys [1-0] will light up green when fully charged. As the battery drains, the green light decreases. When keys [1-3] turn red, the battery is low.
Charging Method
Connect the keyboard to your computer using the provided cable to charge. The [ESC] key flashes red when the battery is low. While charging, the [ESC] key stays red. It returns to its normal lighting effect when fully charged.
Sleep Function
The keyboard enters sleep mode after one minute of inactivity. Press any key to wake it up.
Charging Instructions
- Recommended: Charge using the computer's USB port only.
- Do not use fast-charging phone chargers.
- Do not use low-quality, non-standard power adapters.
- Do not use over-voltage or over-current power adapters.
- Keep the keyboard away from high-temperature devices while charging.
- Turn off the power switch if the device will not be used for an extended period.
