How to Use the Exercise Bike
How to Plug in the Included Power Adapter
The exercise bike can be used with or without the power adapter. When used without, power is supplied by an internal generator.
IMPORTANT: If the exercise bike has been exposed to cold temperatures, allow it to warm to room temperature before plugging in the power adapter. Failure to do so may damage the console displays or other electronic components.
Plug the power adapter into the lower power receptacle (A) on the frame. Then, plug the power adapter into an appropriate outlet, installed according to local codes and ordinances.
Diagram shows the location of the power receptacle (A) on the exercise bike frame.
How to Plug in the Digital TV Power Adapter
If the exercise bike has an optional digital TV, the TV's power adapter must be used. Allow the bike to warm to room temperature before plugging in the adapter to avoid damaging components.
Plug the digital TV power adapter into the upper digital TV power receptacle (B) on the frame. Then, plug the adapter into an appropriate outlet.
Diagram shows the location of the digital TV power receptacle (B) on the exercise bike frame.
How to Connect a Coaxial Cable to the Exercise Bike
If the exercise bike has an optional digital TV, a coaxial cable is required for TV viewing. Locate the coaxial cable terminal (C) on the frame. Connect the cable and route it to avoid pinching or crushing.
A satellite receiver, VCR, or DVD player can also be connected using a coaxial cable from the equipment's coaxial output (e.g., TV OUT or RF OUT) to the terminal (C).
Audio/video equipment without coaxial outputs may connect directly to the optional digital TV via its various input receptacles.
Diagram shows the location of the coaxial cable terminal (C) on the exercise bike frame.

Compliance Information
United States (FCC Statement)
This equipment complies with FCC Rules Part 15 for Class B digital devices, designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in residential installations. It generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy. If interference occurs, try reorienting the antenna, increasing separation, using a different outlet, or consulting a dealer/technician.
FCC CAUTION: Use only shielded interface cables. Unauthorized modifications may void the user's authority to operate the equipment.
Canada (IC Statement)
This Class B digital device complies with Canadian ICES-003. Operation is subject to two conditions: no harmful interference, and acceptance of any received interference.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting
Maintenance
Inspect and tighten all parts regularly. Replace worn parts immediately. Clean the exercise bike with a damp cloth and mild soap. Keep liquids away from the console and avoid direct sunlight.
Console Troubleshooting
If the console does not display heart rate, or if readings are inaccurate, refer to Step 5 on page 19.
IMPORTANT: For replacement power adapters, use only manufacturer-supplied regulated adapters to avoid console damage.
Charging the Generator
For best results, charge the internal Battery (2) that powers the Generator (31) once per week. Plug the Power Adapter (130) into the receptacle on the frame to charge the Battery.
Exercise Guidelines
WARNING: Consult your physician before starting any exercise program, especially if you are over 35 or have pre-existing health problems.
The heart rate monitor is not a medical device and readings may vary. It serves as an exercise aid for determining heart rate trends.
These guidelines help plan your exercise program. Proper nutrition and rest are essential for results.
Exercise Intensity
Exercising at the proper intensity is key for fat burning or cardiovascular strengthening. Use your heart rate as a guide. The chart shows recommended heart rates for fat burning and aerobic exercise based on age.
Training Zones: Find your age at the bottom of the chart. The three numbers above your age indicate your training zone: lowest for fat burning, middle for maximum fat burning, highest for aerobic exercise.
- Burning Fat: Exercise at low intensity for sustained periods. Body uses carbs first, then stored fat. Aim for the lower end of your training zone for fat burning, middle for maximum fat burning.
- Aerobic Exercise: Strengthens cardiovascular system. Requires large oxygen intake for prolonged periods. Aim for the higher end of your training zone.
Workout Guidelines
- Warming Up: 5-10 minutes of stretching and light exercise to increase body temperature, heart rate, and circulation.
- Training Zone Exercise: 20-30 minutes within your training zone. Limit to 20 minutes in the first few weeks. Breathe regularly.
- Cooling Down: 5-10 minutes of stretching to improve flexibility and prevent post-exercise issues.
Exercise Frequency
Complete three workouts per week with at least one rest day between. After a few months, up to five workouts per week may be suitable. Make exercise a regular, enjoyable part of your life.
