French Door Bottom Quick Start Guide

Operating Instructions

IMPORTANT: Before operating this appliance, ensure it has been properly installed according to the appliance's Owner's Manual.

The controls are located above the external dispenser. Touch any control button on the dispenser panel to activate the display screen.

The display screen on the dispenser control panel will turn off automatically and enter "sleep" mode when the control buttons and dispenser levers have not been used for 2 minutes or more. While in "sleep" mode, the first press of a control button will only reactivate the display screen, without changing any settings. After reactivation, changes to any settings can then be made. If no changes are made within 2 minutes, the display will re-enter "sleep" mode.

Control Panel Overview

The control panel features the following functions:

  • Ice Type: Selects cubed or crushed ice.
  • Light: Controls dispenser light (off/on/pads).
  • Temp: Accesses temperature settings.
  • Options: Enters options mode.
  • Lock: Locks/unlocks the dispenser (hold 3 sec).
  • Measured Fill: Calibrates measured fill (hold 3 sec).

Cooling On/Off

Your refrigerator and freezer will not cool when cooling is turned off. To turn cooling off, press and hold the Lock and Measured Fill buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. The display will show "Refrigeration Cooling is Off". Press and hold Lock and Measured Fill again for 3 seconds to turn cooling back on.

Important: Press both buttons at exactly the same time to avoid unintentional locking or setting changes.

Ice Maker On/Off

You can turn the ice maker on or off from the control panel.

Press the Options button to enter Options mode. The "Ice Maker" indicator will illuminate. Press Temp to toggle between "Ice Maker" and "Ice Maker Off". When turned off, "Ice Maker Off" will flash three times and remain lit. The ice maker stops producing ice when off. Pressing the Ice Maker button when it's off turns it on.

Fast Cool

The Fast Cool feature is useful for periods of high refrigerator use, large grocery loads, or temporarily warm room temperatures. It remains on for 24 hours unless manually turned off.

To turn on Fast Cool: Press Options to enter Options mode, then press Options again. "Fast Cool" will appear on the display.

To turn off Fast Cool: Press Options to enter Options mode (if not already there), then press Options again. "Fast Cool" will disappear from the display.

Note: Setting the freezer to a colder temperature may make foods like ice cream harder.

Water Filter Status

The water filter status lights indicate when to change the water filter. The disposable filter should be replaced at least every 6 months. Replace it sooner if water flow decreases noticeably.

  • "Order Filter" icon: Illuminates when 90% of the filter's rated water volume has passed or 5 months have passed since installation.
  • "Replace Filter" icon: Illuminates and blinks during dispensing when the filter's rated volume has passed or 6 months have passed. Replace the filter immediately when this light is on.
  • After 14 days in the "Replace Filter" stage, the "Replace Filter" and "water" icons glow continuously, blink during dispensing, and an alert chime sounds three times after dispensing.

The filter reset control restarts the water filter status tracking. After changing the filter, press Options to enter Options mode, then press Lock to initiate the reset, and then press Measured Fill to confirm. The "Order" and "Replace" icons will disappear.

Temperature Set Points

Factory recommended set points: Refrigerator 38°F (3°C), Freezer 0°F (-18°C).

Important: Wait 24 hours for the refrigerator to cool completely before adding food.

Note: Adjusting set points colder does not cool compartments faster. Check air vents if temperatures are too warm or cold.

Note: For areas with high humidity or extreme temperatures (e.g., garage, basement), you may need to adjust temperatures away from recommended settings. Wait at least 24 hours between adjustments.

Adjusting Temperatures

  1. Press and hold Temp for 3 seconds to activate Temperature mode.
  2. Press Temp to toggle between Fridge and Freezer. The display shows the selected compartment's set point.
  3. Press Lock to raise the set point or Options to lower it.
  4. To adjust the other compartment, press Temp (under "Select Zone") to switch the display.
  5. Press Lock to raise or Options to lower the set point for the second compartment.
