Dimensions:
Detailed diagrams show physical dimensions for M12 and M8/M8LE models. Key dimensions include overall height, width, and mounting hole locations. For example, M12 models are approximately 4.522" [114.86mm] in height, while M8/M8LE models are approximately 4.181" [106.20mm] or 4.332" [110.03mm] in height.
Installation Manual
Setup Instructions
The sensor features an OLED Graphic Display and three pushbutton controls.
- Display Elements: Contrast Indicator, Label Position indicator, Signal Strength indicator, Threshold Number display, Output ON indicator (for Gap or Label), and AUTO Adjust Mode indicator.
Simple Setup
Gap AUTOSET: Place the label gap in view. Press and hold the AUTOSET/GAP button for two seconds. "Gap Set" will be displayed, indicating a successful setup.
Label AUTOSET: If false triggers occur, place the label in view. Push and hold the AUTOSET/LABEL button for two seconds. "Label Set" will be displayed. This two-point setup creates a new threshold for a more consistent signal span.
Alignment Guidance
- Align Label to Arrow: Place the label web so it is centered on the arrow where the transducers are aligned.
- Align Gap to Line: Place the label gap in the center of the sensor using the alignment line. View from the top and use the output LED to center the label gap.
- Gentle Tension: Place label webbing so it slides along the bottom of the sensor gap plate for consistent setup and performance.
Output Indicators
- A Red LED illuminates when the sensor's output transistors are "ON".
- The Red LED flashes when a short circuit or overload is detected. If the output LED flashes on power up, a short circuit condition exists.
Button Functions
- AUTOSET/GAP Button:
- 1. Push and Hold with gap in view for 2 seconds for AUTOSET.
- 2. Tap for UP on Contrast Indicator, or reduce threshold.
- 3. Change settings in MENU options.
- AUTOSET/LABEL Button:
- 1. Push and Hold with label in view after GAP AUTOSET (useful for multi-layered labels).
- 2. Tap DOWN on Contrast Indicator, or increase threshold.
- 3. Change settings in MENU options.
- MENU Button:
- 1. Scroll through MENU options.
- 2. Hold during power up for additional Menu Options: Timer and Factory Diagnostics (Sensor Scope).
OLED Numerical Display
- 1 to 10 bar Contrast Indicator.
- Numerical display for threshold and feedback number.
- Options Status Display: Button Lock or Unlock (?), auto adjust on/off (AUTO), output in Gap [gap-symbol] or on Label [label-symbol].
- View Menu Options.
Note: Sensor is shipped with a protective plastic covering for the display. Remove for clearer viewing.
Detailed Setup (Using Menu Button)
Access advanced setup options by pressing the MENU button.
-
Initiate Dynamic Set
Press ⬆️ or ⬇️ button to start a Dynamic Set. Pull labels and gaps through the sensor. Press ⬆️ or ⬇️ to complete. The sensor exits to run mode and should be ready for operation. -
