Initial Setup
Note: Do not plug the AC power adaptor to power outlet before all the assembly is completed. Before turning the power on, make sure again all the connection settings are correct. Always turn off the power when connecting or disconnecting.
- Place the unit on a flat and level surface. The selected location should be stable and free from vibration. [Checkmark symbol] [Cross symbol]
- Install the turntable platter and drive belt accordingly.
- Flip the platter. Make sure that the belt is placed in the middle of the platter, as shown in the picture. [Diagram showing belt in the middle position]
- Align one of the platter openings with the brass motor pulley, and, while pulling both ends of the red ribbon that comes attached to the belt, place the belt on the motor pulley, as per the diagram. Be careful not to twist the belt. [Diagram showing belt placement on pulley]
- Remove the red ribbon from the belt. [Diagram showing ribbon removal]
- Rotate the platter slowly 10x in a clockwise direction to seat the belt properly and make sure it turns smoothly. [Diagram showing rotation]
- Place the slip mat on top of the turntable platter.
- Rotate the counterweight to align with the scale line after loosening the locking screw, then the needle pressure reaches the factory recommended 3.5g. Tighten the locking screw. [Diagram showing counterweight adjustment with scale]
Note: The counterweight has been preset to the proper stylus pressure at the time of manufacture and does not need to be refitted. Although the tonearm is not balanced, the purpose of adjusting the counterweight is to adjust the needle pressure; rest assured the needle pressure is 3.5g when the counterweight is aligned with the scale line.
The screw for the counterweight only needs to be loosened slightly; please do not remove it completely.
- Set the Anti-Skate Control Dial to 3.5g.
Note: While the record is playing, a force acts on the stylus tip to pull it inward. This force can be counteracted by setting the anti-skate dial to the same value as the tracking force.
- Install the turntable lid to the hinges.
- Connect AC adaptor to the Power Jack of the unit.
Setting Phono/Line Switch
This product has a built-in phono equalizer function. You can use the product, even if you do not have a phono amplifier or connectable equipment with a built-in phono amplifier, by connecting an active speaker, etc. Use the Phono/Line Switch to set the output, as shown below.
Connectable device being used | Position of Phono/Line Switch | Where to connect the RCA audio cable |
---|---|---|
Device with Phono input | Phono | Phono input jack and ground terminal of connectable equipment |
Device without Phono input | Line | AUX or line input jack of connectable equipment |
Note: Line inputs such as CD, Tuner, Tape, or Video are not suitable for phono input in Phono mode. The RCA Jacks are not designed to be connected directly to a passive speaker in Line mode. If connected to a passive speaker, no sound will come out.
Turntable Operation
- Press the Power Switch to turn on the power. Rotate the Power Switch to turn on the power and select the desired speed according to the record. (33 1/3 or 45 RPM)
- Place the record on the turntable. Use the 45 RPM Adapter if necessary.
- Remove the stylus protector from the stylus assembly. [Note: To avoid stylus damage, make certain the included stylus guard is in place whenever the turntable is being moved or cleaned.]
- Release the tonearm Hold Down Clip. [Note: when the turntable is not in use, remember to lock back hold down clip.]
- Use the Cue Lever to lift up the tonearm.
- Gently move the tonearm over the record where play is desired to begin. Set the Cue Lever back to the down position; the tonearm will descend slowly onto the record and begin to playback. [Note: Don't use your hand to directly remove the cartridge during playback to avoid scratching the record or the cartridge during operation.]
- If desired, turn the Pitch Control Knob to adjust the pitch. (±10% pitch variation)
Bluetooth Operation
This turntable has a Bluetooth transmitter to wirelessly send audio to a Bluetooth speaker or Bluetooth headphones.
- Power on the turntable and press the BT Out Switch to ON. The Bluetooth Indicator will flash in blue color.
- Turn on your Bluetooth speaker and ensure it is in pairing mode.
- This turntable will connect to the nearest Bluetooth speaker. If the connection is successful, the indicator light will stop flashing and become solid.
- Turn the volume control knob of the speaker to adjust the volume.
- To disconnect pairing, power off the turntable or turn off Bluetooth pairing on your Bluetooth speaker. The Bluetooth Indicator will be off.
Note: The initial connection may take longer. After a successful connection, the subsequent connection time will be shortened. Please be patient and wait.
Maintenance
- Do not touch the stylus tip with your fingers. Avoid bumping the stylus on the turntable mat or a record's edge.
- Clean the stylus frequently with a soft brush with a back-to-front motion only. [Diagram showing correct stylus cleaning motion] [Cross symbol for incorrect motion]
- Clean the records to get rid of dust or grease with a record cleaning brush and record cleaning solution.
- Clean the turntable lid and turntable cabinet with a slightly damped microfiber cloth. [Note: Do not use cleanser that contains alcohol, benzene or any other harsh chemicals, which might damage the paint and finish of the turntable.]
- The belt is a consumable part. Replace the belt if the speed of playback slows down or irregular rotation occurs. As a rule of thumb, we suggest replacing the belt once a year. [Note: Before replacing the belt, be sure to disconnect the product's AC adapter from the outlet.]
Needle Replacement
Removing Needle
- Gently pull down the front edge of the needle. [Diagram step 1]
- Pull needle forward. [Diagram step 2]
- Pull out and remove. [Diagram step 3]
Installing Needle
- Position the needle with its tip facing down. [Diagram step 1]
- Line up the back of the needle with the cartridge. [Diagram step 2]
- Insert the needle with its front end at a downward angle and gently lift the front of the needle upward until it snaps into place. [Diagram step 3]
When the Turntable is Moved
Using the product's original packing materials, wrap the turntable in the reverse order from when you unwrapped it. If you do not have the packaging materials, take the following measures:
- Remove the felt mat and platter, and then wrap them. If the product is moved while the platter is still seated, it may damage the spindle.
- Fix the tonearm to the Tonearm Rest and attach the protector to the cartridge.
- Wrap the turntable body with a soft cloth so that it does not get damaged.
