Getting Started

1. Connecting the Dongle to a Mobile Device or Computer (PC/Mac)

The dongle is compatible with mobile devices, as well as PC and Mac computers. The dongle can be connected to a USB C port or a USB A port using the included USB A adapter.

No driver installation is required for connecting the device. The dongle is automatically recognized as an external sound card.

Note: The dongle is designed for connection to smartphones or PC/Mac computers. It cannot be used with televisions or devices requiring high-fidelity audio playback.

When connecting the dongle to a mobile device, there is a risk of damage to the protruding part of the dongle and/or the USB port if the dongle is subjected to mechanical stress. To reduce the risk of mechanical stress, connect the dongle to mobile devices using an extension cable.

Diagram: Shows a USB C dongle connected to a USB A adapter, which is then plugged into a USB A port on a computer.

2. Pairing Bluetooth Headphones with the USB Dongle

The dongle is compatible with all Bluetooth headphone models.

Ensure your headphones are ready for pairing (see the headphone instruction manual). After connecting to a mobile device or PC/Mac, the dongle automatically enters pairing mode and searches for Bluetooth headphones to pair with.

When the dongle is in pairing mode, the LED indicator alternately flashes red and white.

If the dongle does not automatically enter pairing mode, manually activate pairing mode by pressing and holding the pairing button for 3 seconds.

Diagram: Shows steps for pairing: 1. Press and hold pairing button for 3 seconds. 2. LED flashes red and white. 3. Headphones with Bluetooth symbol and connection symbol.

After successful pairing, the LED indicator flashes white 3 times.

Note: Upon the first pairing with Bluetooth headphones, the dongle saves the connection profile of these headphones in the pairing list. When the paired dongle is reconnected to a mobile device or PC/Mac, the dongle automatically attempts to reconnect to the paired headphones.

Using the Dongle

Powering the Dongle On and Off

The dongle automatically powers on immediately after being connected to a mobile device or PC/Mac.

Connect the dongle to a mobile device or PC/Mac (see page 7). If the dongle was previously paired with Bluetooth headphones, it will automatically attempt to connect to the last paired headphones. If the dongle was not previously paired with Bluetooth headphones, it will automatically enter pairing mode and search for Bluetooth headphones to pair with.

To turn off the dongle, disconnect it from the USB port of the mobile device or PC/Mac.

Pairing the Dongle with New Bluetooth Headphones

If the dongle was previously paired with Bluetooth headphones and you need to pair it with a different set of headphones, you must manually activate pairing mode. The last saved pairing profile will be overwritten with the pairing profile of the new Bluetooth headphones.

Connect the dongle to a mobile device or PC/Mac (see page 7).

Press and hold the dongle's pairing button for 3 seconds. The dongle will enter pairing mode. The status LED indicator will alternately flash red and white.

Diagram: Shows steps for pairing: 1. Press and hold pairing button for 3 seconds. 2. LED flashes red and white. 3. Headphones with Bluetooth symbol and connection symbol.

After successful pairing, the status LED indicator flashes white 3 times.

Reconnecting Paired Bluetooth Headphones to the Dongle

If the connection between the dongle and the paired Bluetooth headphones is interrupted, you can attempt to re-establish the connection.

Briefly press the dongle's pairing button.

Diagram: Shows a brief press of the pairing button, with the LED flashing white 3 times.

During a connection attempt, the status LED indicator flashes white in series of 3. The connection process may take up to 20 seconds.

Switching Between LC3 and Bluetooth Classic Modes

During audio streaming, you can switch between LC3 and the best available Bluetooth Classic mode. The following priorities apply in descending order: LC3, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, aptX Classic, SBC.

To switch Bluetooth modes, do the following:

Briefly press the pairing button during audio streaming.

If audio encoding with the LC3 codec is active, the status LED indicator will be solid blue.

If audio encoding with the aptX™ Adaptive or aptX™ Classic codec is active, the status LED indicator will be solid pink.

If audio encoding with the aptX™ Lossless codec is active, the status LED indicator will be solid purple.

If audio encoding with the SBC codec is active, the status LED indicator will continuously be solid white.

Muting and Unmuting Audio During a Call

During a call, you can mute or unmute the audio transmission from your side.

To mute the audio transmission from your side during a call, briefly press the pairing button. The red status LED indicator will light up.

To unmute the audio transmission from your side, briefly press the pairing button again. The white status LED indicator will light up.

Diagram: Shows a brief press of the pairing button, with the LED turning red for mute and white for unmute.

Switching to Auracast™ Broadcast Mode

Auracast technology allows audio data to be broadcast simultaneously to multiple output devices, such as your headphones and your friend's headphones.

To switch to Auracast broadcast mode, briefly press the pairing button twice.

Diagram: Shows a double press of the pairing button, with the LED turning yellow.

The yellow status LED indicator will light up.

Switching Back to High-Quality Streaming Mode

To switch back to high-quality streaming mode, briefly press the pairing button twice again.

Switching to Gaming Mode

To switch to gaming mode, briefly press the pairing button 3 times.

Diagram: Shows a triple press of the pairing button, with the LED turning green.

During audio streaming, the status LED indicator will be solid green.

During a call, the status LED indicator will be solid white.

To switch back to high-quality streaming mode, briefly press the pairing button 3 times again.

Switching from Bluetooth Hands-Free Profile (HFP) to Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP)

To switch from Bluetooth HFP profile to A2DP, briefly press the pairing button 4 times.

Information on Wireless Bluetooth Connection

The dongle is compatible with Bluetooth version 5.4.

If your headphones support one of the following high-resolution audio codecs, you can enjoy high-quality music playback: aptX™ Adaptive (aptX™ HD, aptX™ Lossless). Otherwise, music will be played back with standard quality (SBC). The dongle's status LED indicator shows the audio encoding method used.

If your headphones support aptX™ Low Latency technology, synchronization between audio and image will be automatically optimized when watching videos. This means audio (sound) and video (image) will always be synchronized.

The dongle saves the connection profile of the last paired Bluetooth headphones in the pairing list. After connecting to a mobile device or PC/Mac, the dongle automatically connects to the saved Bluetooth headphones. This way, you can use the dongle and headphones immediately after powering them on, even if you switch to a different computer, for example.

The dongle can only save one connection profile. If you pair the dongle with other Bluetooth headphones, the saved connection profile will be overwritten.

Care and Maintenance

Cleaning the Dongle and Adapter

Exceeding the Bluetooth Transmission Range

Calls and wireless streaming are only available within the Bluetooth range of your dongle. The transmission range depends significantly on environmental conditions, such as wall thickness, material, etc. With no obstacles in the line of sight, the dongle's transmission range is up to 10 meters.

If you (and therefore your Bluetooth headphones) go out of the dongle's Bluetooth transmission range, the audio quality will progressively worsen until the connection is completely lost. If the connection between the dongle and Bluetooth headphones is interrupted, you can attempt to re-establish the connection (see page 9).

Resetting the Dongle to Factory Default Settings

If the dongle is not functioning correctly, you can reset it to factory default settings. The saved connection profile of the last paired Bluetooth headphones will be deleted from the pairing list.

Press and hold the dongle's pairing button for 10 seconds. After the reset is complete, the status LED indicator will flash pink 3 times.
