Information on Limited Warranty
Installing, operating, or otherwise using the product signifies that the original end-use purchaser has read and accepted the terms, conditions, and limits of liability and warranty.
What is Covered and for How Long?
JSF Technologies Inc. warrants the JSF Product to be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service for a period of five (5) years from the date of delivery following the original purchase by the end user (the "Warranty Period"). If the JSF Product fails to conform to this Limited Warranty during the Warranty Period, JSF Technologies will, at its option and to the extent permitted by law:
- Repair the JSF Product defect at no charge using new or refurbished parts equivalent in performance and reliability; or
- Exchange the JSF Product with a new or refurbished product that is functionally equivalent to the original product.
JSF Technologies may request the purchaser to replace defective parts with user-installable parts provided by JSF Technologies.
A replacement product or part assumes the remaining Limited Warranty of the original JSF Product.
What is Not Covered by the Limited Warranty?
- Consumable parts, such as batteries.
- Damage caused by accident, abuse, misuse, liquid contact, fire, earthquake, or external causes.
- JSF Products subjected to modifications, alterations, tampering, or improper maintenance or repairs.
- Damage or malfunction resulting from handling, storage, installation, testing, or use not in accordance with JSF Technologies' instructions.
- Damage caused by normal wear and tear or aging of the JSF Product.
- Inoperability due to lack of or insufficient cellular network coverage.
- For solar-powered products, inoperability or reduced operability due to lack or insufficiency of sunlight.
This Limited Warranty does not cover the purchaser's cost or expense for inspecting, testing, reinstalling, or replacing the JSF Product.
JSF Technologies does not warrant that the JSF Product will be error-free or operate without interruption.
The performance of the JSF Product may be affected by network outages, limitations, delays, and other problems inherent in the use of the Internet, cellular networks, and electronic radio communications. It is the purchaser's responsibility to determine the suitability and proper placement of the JSF Product. JSF Technologies is not responsible for delays, scheduling failures, or other damage or interruption of use resulting from such problems.
The JSF Product is not designed or intended for use as a traffic control device; it is to be used as a warning device only. Anyone selling or using the JSF Product in such an application does so at their own risk and agrees to indemnify JSF Technologies for any damages resulting from such sale or use.
How to Get Limited Warranty Service?
To claim under this Limited Warranty, the original end-use purchaser must notify JSF Technologies of the intention to claim by phone: (800) 990-2454, ext. 224, or email: support@jsftech.com, during the Warranty Period and provide a description of the alleged failure. The purchaser must also comply with JSF Technologies' return shipping instructions.
What are the Limits of JSF Technologies' Warranty/Liability?
Except as stated in this Limited Warranty, the JSF Product is provided "AS IS". This Limited Warranty and its remedies are exclusive and in lieu of all other representations and warranties, whether oral, written, statutory, express, or implied.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, JSF Technologies disclaims all express, implied, and statutory warranties and conditions, including implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, warranties against hidden or latent defects, or compliance with any law or regulation.
Nothing in the product instructions or installation manual constitutes an express warranty.
If JSF Technologies cannot lawfully disclaim statutory or implied warranties, then to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, JSF Technologies limits the duration of any implied warranties or conditions to the duration of this Limited Warranty and to the repair, replacement, or purchase price refund options.
JSF Technologies will not be liable for any direct, consequential, incidental, general, exemplary, or special damages arising from the use of the JSF Product, breach of warranty, or under any other legal theory, including loss of use or indirect or consequential loss or damage. JSF Technologies' total cumulative liability will not exceed the amount actually paid for the JSF Product by the original end-use purchaser.
Terms of Sale
These terms and conditions govern the sale of all products, parts, and components ("Products") and the provision of all services ("Services") by JSF Technologies, Inc. ("Seller") to any purchaser of Products ("Buyer"). These terms and conditions ("Agreement") take precedence over any additional, supplemental, or conflicting terms and conditions asserted by the Buyer.
1. Orders
All orders placed by Buyer are subject to acceptance by Seller. Orders must include a complete description of Products, quantities, and required dates. Orders may not be canceled or altered without Seller's written consent. Seller may allocate Product among its Customers and designate certain orders as non-cancelable and certain Product as non-returnable ("NCNR").
2. Prices, Pricing Terms and Payment
Prices and pricing terms are subject to Seller's Price List, which may be amended. Full payment is due promptly upon placing an order unless credit has been pre-approved by Seller. All credit terms are subject to Seller's credit policies.
3. Delivery and Title
Delivery of Products occurs at the factory or warehouse location specified by Seller to the carrier who will transport the Products to Buyer (the "Delivery Point"). Delivery is deemed to have occurred when Products are loaded onto the carrier's transport. Seller selects the carrier and delivery route unless specified by Buyer. Buyer will reimburse Seller for transportation costs if Seller hires the carrier. Buyer is responsible for storage fees if goods are not picked up by Buyer's carrier within 72 hours of the shipping date. The carrier is Buyer's agent, and delivery to the carrier constitutes delivery to Buyer. Title and risk of loss pass to Buyer upon delivery to the carrier. Buyer is responsible for insuring all Products from delivery. Lead times and delivery dates are estimates. Seller may ship before the delivery date if Product is available. Seller is not liable for delays beyond its reasonable control. If Product is damaged, lost, or stolen while in the carrier's custody, Seller is deemed to have performed its obligations in full. Variations in quantity do not relieve Buyer of the obligation to accept and pay for delivered Products.
4. Acceptance/Returns
Shipments are deemed accepted upon delivery unless rejected within five (5) days after delivery. Discrepancies in shipment quantity must be reported within five (5) working days of receipt. Returns are subject to Seller's return merchandise authorization ("RMA") policies and procedures and a restocking charge equivalent to 50% of the value of the Product, unless it is an excess product return. Returned Products must be in original packaging and conform to minimum package quantity ("MPQ") requirements. Products not eligible for return will be returned freight collect.
5. Product Warranty
Seller offers a limited warranty against defects in material and workmanship on its JSF Technologies-branded Products. Information on the applicable Limited Warranty terms is included in the product instruction manual or can be obtained from JSFT. Seller expressly excludes and disclaims all other representations, warranties, conditions, and guarantees, whether express, implied, or imposed by statute, except for the Limited Warranty. Third-Party Products are sold "AS IS" by Seller, but may be accompanied by their manufacturers' standard warranties.
6. Export Control/Use of Products
Buyer certifies it will be the recipient of Products. Buyer acknowledges that Products are subject to export and/or import control laws and regulations of Canada, the United States, and the country of Buyer's location. Buyer agrees to comply with all export laws and to provide end-user documentation and certification as requested by Seller. Buyer shall not export any Products to any country where such export is restricted or prohibited.
7. Technical Assistance or Advice
Technical assistance or advice offered by Seller is provided free of charge as an accommodation to Buyer. Seller reserves the right to charge for such assistance and has no obligation to provide it. Any assistance provided is at Buyer's own risk, without liability or responsibility on behalf of Seller. No statement made by Seller's representatives constitutes a representation or warranty.
8. Limitation Period
No action by Buyer may be brought against Seller or the manufacturer more than twelve (12) months after the facts occurred upon which the cause of action arose.
9. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia, Canada. For disputes arising within Canada, parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Supreme Court of British Columbia. For disputes arising outside Canada, arbitration will be administered by the International Centre for Dispute Resolution under its International Arbitration Rules.
10. Force Majeure
Seller is not liable for inability to secure sufficient quantities or failure to deliver due to causes beyond its reasonable control, including acts of God, natural disaster, riot, war, strike, carrier delay, shortage of Product, acts of government, material shortages, fire, floods, epidemics, quarantine restrictions, acts of terrorism, transportation delays, or inability to obtain labor or materials. Seller's time for performance will be extended, or Seller may cancel remaining performance without liability.
11. Miscellaneous
If any part of this Agreement is invalid, the remaining parts remain enforceable. This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between Seller and Buyer. Prior agreements and communications are superseded.
WP5 Configuration
Follow these steps to configure the WP5 module:
- Set the Flash Pattern dial to any of the flash patterns to energize the board. For AB-4400 models, this dial serves only as an indicator light to show if the unit is on, as they do not have LED beacons.
- Designate the Network Address that the unit will operate in. Set it to the same network as the rest of the system you are installing.
- Set the Flash Duration.
The diagram shows control settings for the WP5 module. It includes labels for different flash patterns: MUTCD RRFB (WW+S), JSF Strobe, MUTCD Wig-Wag, and JSF Strobe Wig-Wag. Controls include a "Reset" button, a "Test" button, a "Flash Pattern" dial (numbered 0-15), a "Network Address" setting, and a "Flash Duration" setting with dials for Minutes, Hours, and Seconds. Other labels visible are "Current Driver", "RRFB", "Sign LEDs", "S2 (Legacy)", and "SW". Regulatory information like FCC ID: SFIWP5 and IC: 5301A-WP5 is also displayed.
