Product Overview
The Water Leak Detector is a device that sounds an alarm upon detecting water drip or leak. When connected to Wi-Fi via the gateway, it instantly sends alert notifications of water leaking via the app or email, whether you are at home or away.

Water Leak Detector
The Water Leak Detector includes an Indicator light, a Push Button, Sensor Contact points, and a Sensor Probe. It operates using 2 AAA Batteries.
- Sensor Contact: Detects water drip.
- Sensor Probe: Detects water leak.
- Push Button: Pauses alarm / Adjusts volume.

Checking the Water Leak Detector
- Insulation Sheet Removal: Pull out the insulation sheet vertically.
- Button Test: Press the button once. The detector should beep after 1 second, indicating it is working. If not, open the back cover using a PH00/PH0 screwdriver to replace the batteries.
- Volume Adjustment: Press the button twice quickly within 1 second. The indicator will flash rapidly. The volume level cycles through HIGH, MEDIUM, and LOW. The default volume is high. ?
- Alarm Trigger: The detector will alarm if water drips onto the sensor contact or if it is placed on a wet surface.

- Stopping the Alarm: Press the Push Button to stop the alarm for 1 hour. Remove the device from water and wipe it dry to stop the alarm completely.
Notice: When the battery is low, the device sounds "dididi" and flashes red slowly.
Installing Your Device
- Plug the gateway into a power outlet.
- Lay the water leak detector flat. Notice: Keep the distance between the gateway and the detector less than 400m/1300ft.
Preparation Before Connecting
- Ensure you have a Wi-Fi router that supports 2.4GHz (NOT 5GHz) and 802.11 b/g/n bands. (Most 5GHz routers can also be set to the 2.4GHz band or dual band.)
- Verify that your Wi-Fi name and password are correct.
- You will need a smartphone or tablet that supports the 2.4GHz network.
Connecting to a Wi-Fi Network
- Download the Govee Home app from the App Store (for iOS devices) or Google Play (for Android devices).
- Turn on Bluetooth on your phone and place it close to the Wi-Fi Gateway. (Location Services/GPS should be turned on for Android users).
- Open the Govee Home App, tap the "+" icon in the top right corner, and select "Wi-Fi Smart Gateway 2" / "H5043".
- Follow the in-app instructions to complete pairing. The indicator will flash blue slowly. Press and hold the button for 3 seconds.
- Once pairing is completed, the Wi-Fi Gateway icon will appear in the top left corner of the "My Devices" page, showing "Connected" with a solid blue indicator light.
- If the connection to Wi-Fi fails, the indicator will remain solid red.
Please check the above steps and try again. Alternatively, you can select "H5043" in the app and tap "Video Guide" for more detailed instructions.
Notification Setting
App Notification: Open the app, select "water leak detector" from the device list, and tap the setting icon in the top right corner.
- Receive information push: Turn on/off notification push for water leaks.
- Sound alarm: Turn on/off the sound of app notifications.
- Vibration alarm: Turn on/off the vibration of app notifications.
Email Notification: Open the app, tap "My Profile" in the lower right corner, then navigate to "Notification settings".
- Receive information push: Turn on/off email notifications for water leaks.
Add or Re-add Water Leak Detector
Notice: The detector is added by default when the gateway connects to Wi-Fi successfully.
- Open the Govee Home App, go to the Gateway page, and select Wi-Fi Smart Gateway 2.
- On the Wi-Fi Smart Gateway 2 details page, click "Add a new sub-device" to start pairing.
- Place the detector near the gateway. Press the Push Button, and the detector will send pairing signals. The detector beeps and the LED lights up red for 2 seconds.
- Select the sub-device found on the gateway's details page. Click to add the device, then complete pairing by following the subsequent instructions.
- The gateway is now paired with the water leak detector, indicated by a solid blue light on the gateway.
- Swipe down the device list page in the app to refresh and find the newly added device.
Notice: If the gateway fails to pair with the detector within 60 seconds, its indicator will flash blue quickly and exit pairing mode. There is a 1-second delay for the beep sound after pressing the Push Button. Please check the steps above and try again if pairing fails.
Troubleshooting
- Gateway Cannot Connect to Wi-Fi / Connection is Unstable:
- The 5GHz network is not supported; the device only supports 2.4GHz.
- Check the network name and password.
- Place the gateway within the router's signal coverage area.
- Avoid obstructions such as metal doors or walls between the gateway and the detector.
- Water Leak Detector Cannot Work:
- Pull out the insulation sheet before use.
- Open the back cover with a PH00/PH0 screwdriver, remove, and re-install the battery.
- Check if the battery is running low.
- No/Delayed Notification in the App:
- For Android users, ensure Location is activated. For iOS users, go to "Settings - Govee Home - Location - Always" on your phone.
- Keep the distance between the gateway and the detector as short as possible.
- Ensure there are no obstructions between the gateway and the detector.
- The time interval between two water detections should not exceed 1 hour; otherwise, the app will not send a push notification.
- Check if the gateway indicator flashes when the detector is triggered. If not, please re-add the detector.
Warning
- Keep devices operating within a temperature range of 32°F - 140°F (0°C - 60°C) and humidity below 90%RH.
- Do not disassemble devices violently.
