Important Safety Information
⚠️ CAUTION: Failure to read these instructions prior to installation may result in personal injury, property damage, or product failure. The manufacturer assumes no responsibility for product failure due to improper installation.
(Instructions also provided in Spanish and French)
Tools and Materials You May Need
- Silicone sealant
- Teflon tape (or similar thread sealant)
- Screwdrivers (3/32" & 1/8")
- 19 mm hex socket wrench (for valve cartridge)
System Flush
Before proceeding with installation, flush the system:
- Turn both faucet handles to the full open position.
- Turn on hot and cold water supplies.
- Flush water lines for one minute to remove any debris that could cause damage or disrupt water flow.
- After flushing, turn handles to the off position.
Handle Installation
This section covers installation for models with both threaded bases and separate bases.
For Models with Threaded Bases
- Install stems (1) to valves (2) and secure with screws (3).
- Thread handle sleeves (4) onto valves. Mark a groove on the sleeve that is between 5/8" and 1 1/8" from the finished wall. Remove the sleeve and cut at the marked groove.
- Reinstall the cut sleeves (4), then thread handles (5) onto the sleeves.
- Hot Side: Rotate the valve stem as far as possible counter-clockwise. Thread the handle onto the sleeve so the handle lever is horizontal and points to the left.
- Cold Side: Rotate the valve stem as far as possible clockwise. Thread the handle onto the sleeve so the handle lever is horizontal and points to the right.
- Alignment Note: If handles do not install in a perfect horizontal position, remove the handle and adapter. Rotate the adapter by one spline and reinstall onto the valve stem. Repeat until desired alignment is achieved.
- Valve Swap Note: Hot and cold valves may be swapped in the rough plumbing. If this occurs, handles will rotate in the opposite direction (downward) to open. Do not alter the hot and cold supply lines.
For Models with Separate Bases
Handle Base Installation
- Remove and discard plasterguards (1).
- Place the handle base (2) and gasket (3) over the valve stem (4).
- Secure the base against the wall using the nut (5). The nut is reversible to accommodate thick or thin wall mounting. Repeat for the other handle base.
- Optional: If the mounting surface is uneven, apply suitable sealant to the back surface of each flange before installation.
Handle Installation
- Install two o-rings (1) onto the splined handle adapter (2).
- Install the adapter onto the hot-side (left) valve stem (3). Secure the adapter with screw (4).
- Install the handle (5) onto the adapter. Measure the gap between the handle and the handle base (6).
- Remove the handle and handle adapter. Using the measurement from step B, mark this distance from the end of the adapter. Cut the adapter at the notch closest to this mark.
- Reinstall the adapter onto the hot-side (left) valve stem and secure with the screw.
- Ensure the hot-side valve stem is rotated as far as possible counter-clockwise. Install the handle onto the adapter so that the handle lever is horizontal and pointed to the left.
- Repeat steps A through D for installing the handle onto the cold-side (right) valve stem.
- Ensure the cold-side valve stem is rotated as far as possible clockwise. Install the handle onto the adapter so that the handle lever is horizontal and pointed to the right.
Spout Flange and Spout Installation
- Install gasket (1) onto brass nut (2).
- Install the nut onto the rough plumbing and tighten until it is against the finished wall.
- Install the spout tube adapter (3). Tighten until the adapter bottoms out against the brass nut.
- Push the spout assembly (4) over the adapter (3) until the spout base is flat against the wall.
- Secure the spout by tightening the set screw (5) on the underside of the spout base. The set screw should engage the groove in the brass nut.
- Optional: If the mounting surface is uneven, apply suitable sealant to the gasket on the brass nut.
Maintenance - Valves
Important: Shut off water supplies before servicing valves or spout assemblies.
If your faucet leaks from the spout or around the handle body, replace the valve cartridge (1).
- Remove the handle (10) and nut (5) (and handle base (4) if applicable). Refer to handle instructions for details.
- Remove screw (7) and spline adapter (6).
- Unscrew sleeve (2) by turning counter-clockwise.
- Unscrew cartridge (1) using a 19 mm hex socket wrench, turning counter-clockwise.
- Install the new cartridge and reassemble other parts in reverse order.
- Note: Align handles with valves in the closed position before refitting handles.
Maintenance - Spout
Important: Shut off water supplies before servicing valves or spout assemblies.
If your faucet leaks at the base of the spout, replace the o-ring (12) on the spout adapter (11).
- Loosen the set screw (13) on the bottom side of the spout escutcheon and pull the spout straight out from the adapter.
- Replace the o-ring (12) on the adapter (11).
- Reassemble in reverse order.
- If the leak continues, replace adapter (11) (Part No. RP93535).
If your faucet leaks around the stream straightener (14), replace the stream straightener assembly.
- Use a small flat-bladed screwdriver to carefully pry the stream straightener out of the faucet using the tabs on its side.
- Ensure the o-ring (15) is installed on the replacement stream straightener.
- Push the stream straightener assembly into the spout opening until it is fully seated.
