I. Application

The Over Voltage and Under Voltage Protective Device with Auto-Reclosing Function (OUPA) is an intelligent protector integrated with over-voltage protector, under-voltage protector, and over-current protector. In case of over-voltage fault, under-voltage fault, or over-current fault in the line, this product can instantly power off to prevent electrical equipment from being burnt. The over-voltage, under-voltage, and over-current values of this product can all be set up by the user and adjusted based on local practical conditions.

II. Product Features

  • In case of over-voltage fault, under-voltage fault, and over-current fault in a single-phase line, the product can power off the line and automatically restore the connection after a time delay once the voltage or current of the line returns to normal condition.
  • In case of transient over-voltage in the line, the product can protect the equipment from false operation.
  • If the line is subjected to unstable voltage or sudden power-off and power-on due to a loosened connection or other fault, the product will disconnect the line.
  • The product itself will not be damaged when the fault voltage of the line reaches its peak.

III. Normal Use and Installation Conditions

3.1 Normal Use Conditions

3.1.1 Ambient Air Temperature

Ambient air temperature shall not be more than +55°C and not less than -20°C. The 24-hour average temperature shall not be more than +35°C.

3.1.2 Altitude

The altitude of the installation place shall not exceed 2000m.

3.1.3 Atmospheric Conditions

3.1.3.1 Humidity

The relative air humidity at the installation place shall not be more than 50% when the ambient air temperature is +40°C. Relative humidity may be higher under low-temperature conditions. For instance, when the mean minimum temperature in the wettest month is +20°C, the mean maximum relative humidity in the month may reach 90%. Condensation produced due to temperature change shall be prevented by taking appropriate measures.

3.1.3.2 Class of Pollution: 3

3.2 Installation Conditions

  • The protector can be vertically or horizontally mounted in a cabinet. If specially required, a special order is necessary.
  • The protector shall be mounted in a medium without risk of explosion. The medium shall not contain gas or conductive dust sufficient to corrode metal and affect insulation.
  • The protector shall be mounted in a place protected from rain and snow.

VII. Usage

After installation, the protector can be wired by the user. The cross-section of the wire shall be selected in accordance with applicable standards and based on the protector's rated current. Pay attention to the locations of incoming and outgoing wires and the phase sequence before powering on for use.

VIII. Notes

Users shall follow relevant procedures and pay attention to the following items when carrying out various operations or tests to ensure the correct and safe use of the product:

  • The input and output shall be correctly connected based on the product marking. The load current shall be less than the protective current of the product.
  • The neutral line (N) must be correctly connected and reliably wired; otherwise, the protector may not work normally.
  • Before powering on, carefully check if the wiring is correct, if the load matches the product's protective current, and if the binding screws are tightened. Failure to do so may damage the product.
  • After powering on the product, do not touch any live parts to avoid electric shock.
  • This product should be used in conjunction with a micro circuit breaker to provide short-circuit protection. Without it, the product may not be able to achieve load limit protection if a short circuit occurs at the input or load end.
  • As the product has an automatic reset function, after it has acted for protection, it is necessary to remove the load (electric appliance) and check the circuit. Otherwise, the product may be frequently connected and disconnected to the load, potentially leading to damage from prolonged overload connection and disconnection.
  • Products not used for a long time should be protected against moisture and dust. Before use, they shall be debugged according to the above contents and can only be put into operation when they are normal.
  • This product has no isolation function. Please disconnect the front circuit breaker when performing maintenance.
  • The maximum sustainable voltage of this device is 440V. In case of a surge, this product will self-destruct without damaging your appliances. Your appliances will remain safe.

IX. Wiring Diagram

The diagram illustrates the connection of the Voltage Protector within a typical household electrical system.

System Components:

  • Grid Supply: The source of electrical power.
  • Electric Meter (EM101): Measures electricity consumption.
  • Voltage Protector: The main device being documented.
  • MCB (C40, 400V-, IEC60898-1, GB10963.1, 4000A): Miniature Circuit Breaker for overcurrent and short-circuit protection.
  • House Load: The electrical appliances connected to the system.

Wiring Connections:

The Grid Supply connects to the input of the Electric Meter. The output of the Electric Meter connects to the input of the Voltage Protector. The output of the Voltage Protector connects to the input of the MCB. The output of the MCB connects to the House Load. Neutral and Live wires are shown connecting these components sequentially.
