Bluetooth 5.4 Adapter Installation Guide
Plug and Play for Windows 11/10/8.1 Systems
For Windows 11, 10, and 8.1 systems, the adapter is designed for Plug and Play functionality.
If you encounter any issues, you can manually download and install the driver. Alternatively, check if the automatic Windows update is enabled:
- Go to computer "Settings".
- Click on "Update & Security".
- Click "Resume Update" and then plug in the Bluetooth adapter.
Manual Driver Installation for Older Systems or Issues
If your PC does not have a Bluetooth driver, or if you are using Windows 7, follow these steps:
Download and Install Driver:
- Download the driver from the website: https://bit.ly/4bEHqGb. The file is approximately 82.5MB and named "RTL5.4 USB Adapter Driver".
- Important: Extract the downloaded zip file to install the driver correctly.
- Unzip the file "RTL5.4 USB Adapter Driver" to access the necessary files.
- Navigate to the folder 5.4 RTBlueR_Windows_1051.1038.1040.0320.2024_F027_L and locate the Setup file to install the driver directly.
The installation process involves several files, including configuration settings, CAB files, and executable programs. Key files include:
- setup.exe (Application)
- setup.inx (INX File)
- data1.cab
- data2.cab
After installation, click the setup file to install the driver and then restart your PC.
Disabling Built-in Bluetooth Devices
Before using the new adapter, it is recommended to disable any existing built-in Bluetooth devices on your PC. Follow these steps in Windows Device Manager:
How to Disable the PC's Built-in Bluetooth Device?
- Step 1: Right-click "This PC" or press "Win+X", then select "Manage" > "Device Manager" > "Bluetooth".
- Step 2: Right-click "Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth" (or your PC's built-in Bluetooth device) and select "Disable".
If you see a " " symbol next to the device, disable it and then re-enable it.
Step 3: Please replug the Adapter.
Step 4: Warm Tips:
- The adapter currently supports OS including Windows 11/10/8.1/7 and some Linux OS.
- Note: This adapter does not work with Mac OS, Windows 8/XP/Vista, TV and game console kits, car stereos, or ordinary 2.4Ghz non-Bluetooth keyboards and mice.
