1 Get Connected
1.1 Connect Wirelessly
Your JAMBOX can wirelessly stream audio from any Bluetooth device within 33 feet. Follow these steps:
- Prepare Your JAMBOX for Pairing: Hold the ON/OFF SWITCH in the upmost position for about 3 seconds until the LED RING flashes red and white. You will hear JAMBOX announce it is ready to pair. Release the switch to the middle/on position.
- Prepare Your Phone or Device: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone or device. For specific instructions, refer to your device's manual or visit JAWBONE.COM/PAIRING.
- Make the Connection: Go to your device's Bluetooth settings, search for devices, and select "Jawbone JAMBOX" when it appears. If prompted for a passcode, enter "0000". This is a one-time pairing process per device.
1.5 Plug & Play
If your device does not support Bluetooth, JAMBOX also connects via a 3.5mm stereo input. Play audio from any device with a headphone jack or audio output.
2 Get Listening
2.1 Get the Best Sound
For optimal listening, place your Jawbone JAMBOX on its base and ensure it is facing forward. When connected wirelessly via Bluetooth, set your phone/device volume to maximum and adjust the volume using the PLUS and MINUS buttons on JAMBOX. When using a 3.5mm stereo input, avoid turning the phone/device volume too high to prevent audio distortion; adjust the volume on JAMBOX instead.
2.2 Whispers Info
Jawbone JAMBOX provides important information, such as remaining battery life and caller ID, through voice prompts.
- Battery Life: Press the TALK BUTTON to hear the remaining battery life. Automatic alerts will sound when the battery is low.
2.3 Connection Priority
Incoming and outgoing calls will always take precedence over audio playback. Audio via 3.5mm stereo input will override wireless audio via Bluetooth.
3 Get Talking
JAMBOX functions as a wireless speakerphone. Speak towards the front grill. The built-in microphone operates only when connected via Bluetooth.
- Answer/End a Call: Press the TALK BUTTON.
- Decline an Incoming Call: Hold the TALK BUTTON for 2 seconds.
- Make a Call: Dial as usual using your phone; listen and talk through JAMBOX.
- Activate DialApp: Hold the TALK BUTTON until a beep, then release and follow voice prompts (e.g., Voice Dial).
- Redial Last Number: Press the TALK BUTTON twice.
- Muting: Mute the microphone by holding the PLUS and MINUS BUTTONS for 2 seconds until a beep is heard.
- Simultaneous Calls: To answer another call, press the TALK BUTTON.
