Dimensions and Connections
Diagrams illustrating the dimensions and connection points for the Viessmann Paromat-Simplex boilers are provided. Key connection points include:
- AGA: Flue outlet
- AR: Boiler return
- KTÜ: Boiler flow
- KV: Boiler temperature sensor
- RG1: 1/2" dia. coupling for additional control equipment
- SR: Safety return
- SV: Safety flow (safety valve)
- WB: 2" dia. coupling for water level limiter (from 405 kW)
Detailed dimensions (a, b, c, d, e, f, g, h, k) are provided in tables for different output ranges (80-170 kW and 225-460 kW).
Minimum Clearances
Clearances are specified for boiler installation, including space for maintenance and burner removal. The boiler door can be mounted to swing left or right.
Burner Connection
For boilers up to 130 kW, the burner connection specifications (hole circle, blast tube opening) conform to standard European dimensions (EN 226). For boilers from 170 kW, specific dimensions for hole circle and blast tube opening are provided. Burner connection can be prepared at the factory upon request.
Pressure Drop (Primary Circuit)
Paromat-Simplex boilers are suitable for fully pumped heating systems. A graph illustrates the pressure drop in the primary circuit based on flow rate.

Each accessory lists part numbers, specifications, and TÜV part codes.
Operating Conditions
The document outlines operating conditions for both modulating and constant boiler water temperature modes, detailing requirements for heating water flow, boiler return temperature, minimum boiler water temperature, burner operation (two-stage and modulating), and reduced/weekend operation.
Notes on Planning
Raising the Return Temperature: Recommended to ensure minimum return temperature using suitable control facilities. Divicon heating circuit distributors and separate return temperature raising units are available.
Chimney Stack: Flue gases must be discharged safely, protected from cooling to prevent condensate. The stack must be matched to the boiler's low flue gas temperature.
Adding a Flue Gas Heat Exchanger: Condensing flue gas via a stainless steel heat exchanger is recommended to exploit condensing technology benefits. Refer to technical guides for details.
Boiler Location: Avoid rooms with polluted air (halogenated hydrocarbons), high dust, or high humidity. The room must be frost-protected and well-ventilated. Precautions are necessary for rooms with air pollution.
Warranty: Warranty does not cover damage due to dewpoint corrosion from low boiler water and/or return temperatures, or from unsuitable water for filling/replenishing.
Safety Equipment: A type-tested safety valve is mandatory for compliance with design approval conditions.
Standard Efficiency: Achieves 94% efficiency with 75/60 °C heating system temperatures, based on DIN 4702-8 which accounts for all boiler losses.
Heating Circuits: For underfloor heating, use impermeable plastic pipes (DIN 4726) or system separation with heat exchangers. Modulating boilers require connection via a mixing valve for underfloor heating and large water content circuits.
Mounting a Suitable Burner: Burner must match the boiler's rated output and flue gas resistance. Burner head material must withstand operating temperatures up to 500 °C. Oil pressure jet burners must comply with EN 267, and gas pressure jet burners with EN 676 and CE designation.
Adjustment of the Burner: Oil or gas throughput must be set to the boiler's stated output rating.
Low Water Indicator: Viessmann Paromat-Simplex boilers are equipped with safety cut-outs that prevent overheating due to low water, eliminating the need for an additional low water indicator in many cases.
