NOTE: Please do not watch videos or use other Apps while the vehicle is in motion. Doing so is a safety violation. To watch videos or use Apps, please ensure that the vehicle is in parked mode with handbrake activated.
Please check compatibility of the device with your mobile phone before purchase. New phone software versions in the future may or may not be compatible with the device. In-Warranty replacement will not be applicable for non-compatibility of the mobile phone with the device.
Panel Introduction
The head unit features a brilliant capacitive display with a high-end tuner and runs on Android OS Version 9.0.
Key Components:
- 1. Microphone: For voice input.
- 2. Reset Button (RST): Restores default factory settings. Caution: All personal settings will be lost.
- 3. POWER/MUTE Button: Short press to turn ON the device; in operation, short press to mute audio source; long press to turn OFF the device.
- 4. HOME Button: Short press to go to the source menu; long press to open Apps in the background.
- 5. BACK Button: Press to return to the previous menu.
- 6. Volume Up Button: Press to increase audio volume.
- 7. Volume Down Button: Press to decrease audio volume.

Safety Notes
The car audio system is manufactured according to recommended and established safety guidelines. Dangers may occur if safety notes are not observed.
Important Functions: Read the user manual carefully and completely. Keep it accessible. Hand over with the system to third parties. Observe instructions of combined devices.

- CAUTION: Warns about potential injuries.
- DANGER: Warns about damages to the DVD/CD drive (Not applicable to all Series 900 Models).
- LOUD VOLUME: Warns about high volume.

General Warning
To avoid injury or damage, observe the following:
- Do not modify or open the device. Seek professional help for maintenance.
- Use as directed: intended for 12V (negative ground) vehicle systems. Observe output limits.
- Installation: Only experienced individuals should install. Observe connection diagrams and use proper tools.
- Use the device safely. Stop the vehicle if unsure. Do not use distracting applications while driving (e.g., video playback, destination search).
- Follow driving recommendations only if they do not violate traffic regulations. Traffic signs have priority.
- Listen at moderate volume to protect hearing and be aware of warning signals. Avoid changing volume during mute phases.
Road Safety
Observe the following notes:
- Read all instructions carefully before use.
- Improper operations will void the warranty.
- Do not watch videos or use Apps while the vehicle is in motion. Ensure the vehicle is parked with the handbrake activated.
- The following applications may divert attention and cause accidents: Navigation (entering destination), video playback, internet usage, phone functions (PhoneLINK), Google PlayStore/Maps/YouTube usage in the automotive environment.
- Refrain from activities that divert attention while driving. Use these applications only when parked safely.
- To avoid short circuits, do not expose the unit to water or place metal objects inside.
- Operate as per manual; do not open for maintenance.
- Do not use the car audio for extended periods after the engine is off, to prevent battery drain.

Placing the Device in Operation
Switching ON / OFF with the POWER button
- To Switch-ON, press the [POWER] button.
- To Switch-OFF, hold the [POWER] button pressed for more than 2 seconds.
Volume
Adjust the volume in steps from 0 (off) to 40 (maximum).
Press the [VOLUME UP] button to raise volume and [VOLUME DOWN] button to lower volume.
Muting the Car Audio System (Mute)
Briefly press the [MUTE] button to mute the device or to reactivate the previous volume.
Main Menu (Home)
In the main menu, press the [HOME] button to call up different sources and operating modes.

Radio Mode
Start Radio Mode
In the main menu, press the [Radio] button. The radio playback menu is displayed.

Select Memory Bank
Different memory banks and wavebands are available. Up to 5 stations can be stored per bank.
Press the [BAND] button repeatedly until the desired memory bank is displayed.
Tuning into a Station
Tuning into Stations Manually
- Briefly press the [SEEK RIGHT] or [SEEK LEFT] button once or several times to change the frequency in increments.
- You can select broadcast frequency directly by dragging the red " | " in the frequency bar.
Starting Station Seek Tuning
Press the [SEEK RIGHT] or [SEEK LEFT] button to start station seek tuning. The radio tunes into the next receivable station.
Note: For reception area Europe, in FM waveband, only traffic information capable stations are tuned if traffic information is switched on.
Storing Stations Manually
- Set the desired station.
- Press one of the memory buttons [P1] - [P5] for approx. 2 seconds to store the current station.
Storing Stations Automatically
Automatically search and store the strongest reception stations in the region into the current memory bank. Previously stored stations are deleted.
- Select a memory band.
- Press the [SEEK RIGHT] button.
The tuner starts automatic station seek tuning. After storing, the radio plays the station at memory location 1 of the selected memory band.
Note: For Europe reception area, if traffic information is switched on, only traffic information capable stations are stored.
Adjusting the Seek Tuning Sensitivity
Determines whether automatic seek tuning finds only strong stations or also weaker ones with interference.
- Press the [SETTINGS] button to adjust sensitivity.
- If LOC is on, only strong signal stations are selected.
- If DX is on, strong and weak signal stations are selected.
Switching RDS ON/OFF
Many FM stations broadcast RDS signals, enabling functions like station name and genre display.
Press the [RDS] button to show RDS options.
Switching the AF (Alternate Frequency) Function ON/OFF
If AF is activated, the system automatically tunes into the best receivable frequency for the current station.
Press the [AF] button to switch the AF function on or off.
Switching Priority for Traffic Announcements ON/OFF
In Europe, FM stations can identify traffic announcements via RDS. If priority for traffic reports is switched on, a traffic report is broadcast even if the system is not in radio mode.
Press the [TA] button to switch priority for traffic announcements ON or OFF.
Selecting Program Type and Start Seek Tuning
Use the PTY function to search for specific genres (e.g., rock music, sports events).
Press the [PTY] button to display program types. Scroll up/down to select a program, and playback will commence.
Sound Settings
Equalizer
Adjust the equalizer for all sources.
Press [SETTINGS] on the main menu or [SETTINGS] of the current audio source.

- Select a preset equalizer via the preset buttons.
- Press the [USER] button to adjust frequency bands to your preferences.
- Press [RESET] to reset customized settings.
- Press [FLAT] for linear sound playback.
- Turn on [LOUDNESS] to increase bass and treble at low volume.
Volume Distribution (Fader/Balance)
Adjust volume distribution for all sources.
Press the [SETTINGS] button in the EQ menu. The fader and balance menu is displayed.
Press the arrow buttons or drag the cursor to adjust fader and balance.
Time Alignment
Set audio delay for each loudspeaker.
Press the [SETTINGS] button in the EQ menu.

Touch the slide control or swipe across it for individual loudspeakers to adjust the delay.
USB Media Playback
The car audio system supports MP3 or WMA files from USB data carriers. You can also view movies and images from USB on the display or a connected monitor.
Safety Note: Playback of movies and images on the integrated monitor is allowed only when the vehicle is parked and the handbrake is applied. The "PARKING" cable must be connected to the vehicle's hand brake connection. Movie playback on an external monitor is possible while driving.
Notes: Blaupunkt cannot guarantee compatibility of all USB pen drives.
USB Data Carrier
This device features 2 USB ports at the rear.
Connecting a USB Data Carrier
- Insert the USB data carrier into the USB socket. The device automatically switches to USB mode. Data is read and playback commences.
Removing the USB Data Carrier
- Turn off the car sound system.
- Remove the USB data carrier.
Audio Playback from USB
Principles for audio playback (MP3/WMA) are identical for all sources.
- Select the [Music] source via the main menu. The device switches to USB source, and playback starts.

USB Playback Controls:

Folder/File List
Briefly tap the name of the folder/track. The folder opens or the track commences. After starting a title, the playback menu is displayed.
Video Playback from USB
- Select [Video] source via the main menu.

Image Playback from USB
- Select the [Picture] via the main menu.
Touch the thumbnail to view the pictures.
Bluetooth Mode
The Bluetooth® function allows pairing cell phones and media playback devices. With a paired phone, you can make calls using the hands-free function and access dialled numbers and the phone book.
If the connected Bluetooth® device supports A2DP and AVRCP, you can play music and control playback via the car system. Music playback is interrupted during calls and resumes afterward.
If a phone is paired and a call is received during playback from another source, that playback is interrupted, and the call menu is displayed.
Starting Bluetooth Mode
In the main menu, press [BT Phone]. The Bluetooth® menu displays known devices. Other audio sources are switched off.

Registering Bluetooth Devices
To pair a device for the first time:
- Ensure Bluetooth® is activated on both the car system and your device.
- Search for new devices/connections on your Bluetooth® device.
- The car audio system appears as "BP980".
- Establish the connection; you may need to enter the pairing code.
- The connection is established, and the menu for the registered device is displayed.
Note: If a telephone is connected, the Bluetooth® icon lights up on the display.
Telephone Mode
If a phone is connected via Bluetooth®, the following menu appears.

Answer a Call
During an incoming call, the calling number is displayed.
- Press the Green [ANSWER CALL] button.
- Press the Red [REJECT CALL] button.
Audio Playback via Bluetooth Streaming
If an audio streaming device is connected via Bluetooth®, you can play music and control playback.
- Press the [BT Music] button to switch to audio playback.

Playback Controls:
- [TITLE SELECTION] Short press: Title selection.
- [PAUSE/PLAY] Pause playback and Resume playback.
- [TITLE SELECTION] Short press: Title selection.
Dialing
- Enter a phone number with the keypad and press the [SETTINGS] button.
- Or, select a contact/number via the caller list or phone book.
Easy Connection / PhoneLINK
PhoneLINK allows your mobile device screen to be displayed on the Car Radio screen, synchronizing your smartphone's display with the car multimedia player. Functionality depends on your smartphone's configuration.
Open the Main Menu and touch [EasyConnection] to enter.

Note for Android: USB debugging may need to be accessed under "About Phone [USB debugging]".
Entering Connection Prompt
Android/iPhone USB Connection
- Open Bluetooth on your mobile phone and pair it with the car audio system. Refer to Bluetooth operation.
- Connect using an original USB data cable.
- If the Easy Connection app is not installed, scan the 2D code and install it on your phone.
- Open the EasyConnection app on your phone; the screen will transfer to the car device.
Android WiFi Connection
- Open the hotspot in your Android phone's settings.
- Pair your mobile phone's Bluetooth with the car audio system.
- Turn on the WiFi function in the car audio system's settings and select the hotspot to connect.
- If the Easy Connection app is not installed, scan the 2D code and install it on your phone.
- Open the EasyConnection app on your phone; the screen will display on the car audio system.
iPhone WiFi Connection
- Open Hotspot in your iPhone's settings. Select "WiFi and Bluetooth" if necessary.
- Open Bluetooth on your iPhone and pair it with the car audio system.
- Turn on the WiFi function in the car device's settings and select the hotspot to connect.
- On your iPhone, slide up to open the Shortcuts control bar, find Airplay, and select the car audio system to connect.
Tip:
- For driving safety, do not use this function while driving.
- Use the original USB data cable for stable connection due to variations in cables.
- EasyConnection performance may vary based on mobile phone features.
- BPIN cannot guarantee compatibility with all phones.

AUX IN, Camera Input, SWC, File Manager
AUX IN
This device features AUX input for audio/video playback. RCA inputs are at the rear.
- Start AUX-IN mode with the [AUX] button. The display shows the audio or video playback of the selected AUX source.
Camera Input
Features video input for a reverse camera. If connected, the image displays when reverse gear is engaged.
Steering Wheel Control (SWC)
Select [SWC] in the Settings menu to enter the SWC setting menu.
- Select a function icon on the screen.
- Long press a steering wheel button.
- Repeat steps 1 and 2 for all settings.
- Touch [SAVE AND EXIT] to save settings.
- Touch [RESET] to reset programming.

Settings
Adjust basic settings for various functions.
- In the main menu, press the [SETTINGS] button. The settings menu is displayed.
- Call up submenus using the buttons in the lower area of the settings menu.
Video
Touch [Video], if necessary.
- Parking: In "Off" mode, warning information displays if video is played. This prevents watching videos while driving.
- Front Camera, Back Camera: Set camera hardware channel, PreCamera video input type (CVBS_NTSC).
General
Select an option to access/setup.
- Key Light: Set the color of keys on the front display.
- Audio: Filter audio files by size.
- Beep: Turn ON/OFF.
- Auto Play USB Device, Auto Play Music: Turn ON/OFF.
Wi-Fi
Turn on Wi-Fi and search for available networks. Select a Hotspot to connect.
Network and Internet Settings: Setup WLAN, mobile network, hotspot, SIM card, update.ver.
General Settings: Airplane mode, VPN, DNS, View data usage.
File Manager
Select [Files] in the main menu to enter the File Manager.
Select the desired folder to access your files.

Manage Bluetooth devices.
Bluetooth Settings: Pair with new device, connection preferences (Bluetooth, cast, received files), device name, PIN Code, auto pair.

CANBUS Settings
View and manage CANBUS Settings.
The original car setting is to set the original car according to the agreement provided by the agreement box company. Functions include setting basic body information, operating the host via original car panel buttons, and displaying air conditioning information.

A 2-year manufacturer's warranty is provided for products bought in India. For devices purchased outside India, the warranty terms of the responsible domestic agency apply.

Troubleshooting
Check the following points before calling a service center:
