Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML240L V2 RGB White Edition
USER MANUAL
Important Note on Initial Operation
As a result of bubbles in the coolant, you might hear sounds coming from your cooler on the first run. Just chill out for 15 minutes and the sounds will disappear.

Installation Guide: Intel Processors
Step 1: Mount Fans to Radiator
Attach the two fans (A) to the radiator using eight screws (I). Ensure the fans are oriented to push air through the radiator.
Step 2: Prepare Motherboard for Intel Sockets
For Intel LGA 2066/2011-v3/2011:
- Install standoffs (G) into the motherboard's CPU socket mounting holes.
For Intel LGA 115X/1200:
- Install the Intel backplate (B) behind the motherboard's CPU socket.
- Install standoffs (F) into the motherboard's CPU socket mounting holes, screwing them into the backplate (B).
Step 3: Prepare the Pump Unit
WARNING: Remove the protective sticker from the pump's contact surface before installation.
Apply thermal paste from the applicator (J) onto the center of the CPU's Integrated Heat Spreader (IHS).
Step 4: Mount the Pump Unit to the Motherboard
For Intel LGA 2066/2011-v3/2011:
- Attach the Intel mounting brackets (C) to the pump unit.
- Align the pump unit over the CPU and the standoffs (G).
- Secure the pump unit using four screws (H), tightening them in a cross pattern (1 -> 3 -> 2 -> 4) until snug.
For Intel LGA 115X/1200:
- Align the pump unit over the CPU and the standoffs (F).
- Secure the pump unit using four screws (E), tightening them in a cross pattern (1 -> 3 -> 2 -> 4) until snug.
Installation Guide: AMD Processors
Step 1: Mount Fans to Radiator
Attach the two fans (A) to the radiator using eight screws (I). Ensure the fans are oriented to push air through the radiator.
Step 2: Prepare Motherboard for AMD Sockets
For AMD Sockets AM4 / AM3+ / AM3 / AM2+ / FM2+ / FM2 / FM1:
- The stock AMD retention clips may need to be removed.
- Attach the AMD mounting brackets (D) to the pump unit.
For AMD Sockets AM4 / AM3+ / AM3 / AM2+ / FM2+ / FM2 / FM1:
- Align the pump unit over the CPU. The AMD brackets (D) will hook onto the motherboard's stock mounting mechanism.
- Secure the pump unit by tightening the four screws (E) in a cross pattern (1 -> 3 -> 2 -> 4) until snug.
Wiring and RGB Setup
Connect the components for cooling and RGB lighting:
Fan Connection:
- Use the Fan & RGB Cable Splitter (L) to connect both fans (A) to a single header on the motherboard (CPU_FAN) and a single RGB header.
- Alternatively, use the Fan Cable Splitter (M) to connect fans to separate headers if preferred.
RGB Lighting Connection:
The MasterLiquid ML240L V2 RGB White Edition uses addressable RGB (ARGB) components. You can control the lighting via the included RGB Controller (O) or connect it to your motherboard's ARGB header.
- Using the RGB Controller (O):
- Connect the ARGB Hub (Q) to the RGB Controller (O) using the RGB Extension Cable (P).
- Connect the fans (A) and any other ARGB devices to the ARGB Hub (Q) using the appropriate cables (often included with fans or the hub).
- Connect the RGB Controller (O) to a SATA power connector from your power supply.
- The RGB Controller (O) allows you to cycle through lighting modes, colors, and fan speeds using its buttons.
- Connecting to Motherboard ARGB Header:
- Connect the ARGB Hub (Q) directly to your motherboard's 3-pin ARGB header (typically labeled 'ARGB_HEADER' or similar, often 5V). Ensure correct pin alignment (12V, G, R, B).
- Connect the fans (A) to the ARGB Hub (Q).
- Connect the RGB Controller (O) to a SATA power connector from your power supply. The controller can still be used to manage lighting if not connected to the motherboard's ARGB header.
Use the included Cable Clips (N) to manage and secure your cables neatly.
Note on Fan Connectors:
- PWM Fan Connector: Typically a 4-pin connector, providing power and speed control signals (PWM). It may also include a tachometer signal (FG - Frame Generation).
- ARGB Connector: Typically a 3-pin connector for addressable RGB lighting, with pins for 12V, Green, Red, and Blue data. Ensure correct orientation.
