DigiTech Turbo Flange Stereo Flanger
The Power to Create
Product Overview
The DigiTech Turbo Flange is a multi-function flanger pedal offering seven different types of flanging effects and CIT™ cabinet modeling. It provides a versatile range of flanging sounds for guitarists.
Controls and Features
The pedal features the following controls:
- Speed Knob: Controls the speed of the flanger sweep. Clockwise increases speed, counter-clockwise decreases speed.
- Depth Knob: Controls the depth of the effect. Clockwise increases depth, counter-clockwise decreases depth.
- Regen Knob: Controls the amount of regeneration (feedback) in the flanger effect. Clockwise increases regeneration, counter-clockwise decreases regeneration. When 'RISE/FALL' is selected, this knob controls the sweep direction (rising or falling).
- Type Knob: Selects one of seven flanger effect types: VOICE 1 (classic jet airplane), VOICE 2 (guttural, growling), VOICE 3 (tube-like), RISE/FALL (constant rising or falling sweep), TRIG UP (trigger-activated sweep starting from the bottom), TRIG DOWN (trigger-activated sweep starting from the top), and STEP (random square wave effect).
- On/Off Pedal: Press the pedal to turn the effect on and off.
- Indicator LED: Indicates when the effect is turned on. If dim or off, the battery may need replacement.
Connections
The Turbo Flange has the following jacks:
- Input Jack: Connect your instrument here. Using a guitar cable also supplies battery power. Disconnect cables when not in use to prolong battery life.
- Out 1 (Mono) Jack: Connect to a single amplifier or mixer channel.
- Out 2 Jack: Connect to a second amplifier or mixer channel for stereo flanging, which provides the most effective stereo flange experience.
- AC Adapter Jack: Connect a DigiTech PS200R (9VDC output) power supply.
CIT™ Cabinet Modeling
The Turbo Flange features built-in CIT™ cabinet modeling. This is useful for running a distortion pedal into the Turbo Flange and then directly into a mixer or recorder, creating a guitar-through-an-amplifier sound without a physical amp. To enable CIT™ cabinet modeling, press the pedal down and apply power (connect a guitar cable or the PS200R power supply). This feature must be enabled each time power is applied.
Wiring Diagrams
Mono Operation: Connect the guitar to the Input Jack, and Out 1 (Mono) Jack to a single amplifier.
Stereo Operation: Connect the guitar to the Input Jack. Connect Out 1 (Mono) Jack to the left channel of a stereo amplifier or mixer, and Out 2 Jack to the right channel.
Using with PS200R Power Supply: The PS200R (optional) power supply can be connected to the AC Adapter Jack for power.
Battery Replacement
- Use the tip of a 1/4" guitar cable to push one of the pedal release pins on the side of the pedal, then remove the pedal from the chassis.
- Remove the old battery from the compartment and disconnect its cable.
- Connect a new 9V DC battery to the cable and place it in the compartment, ensuring the cable does not interfere with the pedal's spring or switch arm.
- Align one hole of the pedal over its corresponding pin.
- Push the opposite pin in, lower the other side of the pedal into place, and release the pin. Ensure both release pins are flush with the outer side of the pedal when properly fastened.
