Important Tips Before Connecting
To ensure clear TV audio for everyone, please follow these important tips:
- Set the audio output of your sources to a sufficient level. We suggest setting the TV box volume to 30% or higher (See Figure 1) and the TV volume to 40% or higher (See Figure 2).
- If the audio output signal is too weak, it may result in:
- No sound from the headset.
- Intermittent sound in the headset.
- Automatic headset shutdown.
- To watch TV quietly without disturbing others, mute your TV using the [Mute Button] on the remote control (See Figure 3) or select any speaker option other than "TV Speaker" in the TV Sound Output settings (See Figure 4).

Note: The exact settings may vary depending on your TV model.
General Connection Notes
- If you cannot access the back of your TV and only use a fixed TV box (cable, satellite, DVD), you can follow these instructions to connect the system to your TV box.
- For multi-source enjoyment (Cable box, DVD, streaming media like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video), connect the transmitter base directly to your TV's audio out port(s) to hear sound from all connected devices.
- Place the transmitter base at least 4 feet away from your router, smart WiFi TV, or WiFi TV box to avoid interference.
- Three different audio cables are included (for digital models only). Only one cable is needed for installation.
Method 1: Digital Optical Connection (for digital models only)
If you cannot hear sound from your SIMOLIO after connecting:
- Ensure you remove the [Protective Cap] from both ends of the optical digital audio cable (See Figure 5).
Figure 5: Image showing an optical audio cable with protective caps at each end.
In your TV's audio settings:
- Set the TV Audio Format to "PCM" or ensure "Dolby/DTS" is OFF (This is IMPORTANT, See Figure 6).
- For specific smart Samsung models, you might need to navigate to Settings > Sound > Expert Settings > Audio Format or Digital Output Audio Format and select PCM, especially when using the "Smart Hub" for internet sources.
- Ensure your TV speaker is set to "External Speakers" (See Figure 7).
Figure 6: Screenshot of TV audio settings, showing options like PCM, Dolby Digital, and DTS.
Figure 7: Screenshot of TV speaker settings, showing options like "Internal speakers" and "External speakers".
Notes:
- If your TV only supports a single sound output, connecting a device to an audio out port (Optical/AUX/RCA) may automatically mute the TV speakers or disable them when "External Speakers" is selected. This behavior depends on the TV's internal design.
- For most TVs, internal speakers and external audio devices can work simultaneously. Some newer LG TVs allow setting "Sound Out" to "Internal TV Speaker + Audio Out (optical)". Newer Samsung TVs may offer a "TV Speaker" option in Sound Output lists to enable this.
- If your TV has AUTO and Dolby options but no PCM, the SIMOLIO system might not function correctly with streaming media (e.g., Netflix), depending on your TV's design.
- Some TVs may not decode or convert Digital Dolby formats to PCM. Even with PCM selected, you might only hear regular TV programs, not internet content. Consult your TV manufacturer for details.
- If connecting a soundbar or HiFi system, consider using an optical splitter to connect both the soundbar/HiFi and the SIMOLIO transmitter to your TV simultaneously (See Figure 8).

Note: The exact settings may vary depending on your TV model.
Method 2: RCA Analog Connection
If you cannot hear sound from your SIMOLIO after connecting:
- Ensure you use the TV's Red/White ports labeled "AUDIO OUT" or "OUTPUT". Other Red/White ports are incorrect (See Figure 9).
Figure 9: Image of a TV's rear panel highlighting the correct RCA "AUDIO OUT" ports (Red and White).
In your TV's audio settings:
- Ensure your TV speaker is set to "External Speakers" (See Figure 10).
Figure 10: Screenshot of TV audio settings, showing "Internal speakers", "External speakers", and "Headset" options.
Notes:
- Your TV's analog audio settings might be "Variable" or "Fixed". To control TV volume independently from SIMOLIO volume, set your TV to "Fixed" (Refer to your TV manufacturer for assistance) (See Figure 11).
Figure 11: Screenshot of TV audio settings, showing "Fixed" and "Variable" options for audio output.
Note: The exact settings may vary depending on your TV model.
Method 3: AUX/3.5mm Analog Connection
Connecting the 3.5mm audio cable to the TV's 3.5mm Audio Out port (often a headphone port, usually marked with a headphone icon) will allow the SIMOLIO to function but will mute the TV's internal speakers (See Figure 12).

If you cannot hear sound from your SIMOLIO after connecting:
- Ensure your TV speaker is set to "Headset" (See Figure 13).
- Plug a wired headphone/earphone into the TV's 3.5mm audio out port to test if you can hear the TV sound (See Figure 14).

Notes:
- Your TV's analog audio settings might be "Variable" or "Fixed". To control TV volume independently from SIMOLIO volume, set your TV to "Fixed" (Refer to your TV manufacturer for assistance) (See Figure 11).
Note: The exact settings may vary depending on your TV model.
