  5. DANGER OF ELECTROCUTION! Do not place or use the appliance near water or in humid environments, such as a bathroom, or where water might drip or splash on it.
  6. DANGER OF ELECTROCUTION! Never store the appliance where it can fall into a tub or sink. If the appliance falls into water or becomes wet in any way, do not touch it. Disconnect it immediately from the power supply. Then take it to the retail outlet, the manufacturer, or an authorized center.

Power Supply

  1. Before first use, make sure the power voltage matches the information on the appliance rating label.
  2. Only connect the appliance to an earthed wall socket.
  3. To avoid overheating, fully unwind the power cord.
  4. Do not let the power cord hang over the edge of tables or countertops.
  5. A short power cord should be used and arranged to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over the power cord. Do not change the power cord to a long power cord or use an extension cord with this product. Have a qualified electrician install a wall socket near the appliance.
  6. Arrange the power cord so that no one can catch, trip or step on it accidentally.
  7. Do not cover the power cord or place it under a heavy object.
  8. Make sure the power cord is not crushed or bent especially where the power cord attaches to the appliance and the plug.
  9. If the power cord or plug is damaged, do not use the appliance and return it to the manufacturer, an authorized service agent or a similarly qualified person.
  10. Always unplug the appliance from the wall socket when it is not in use, before repositioning, in the event of a thunderstorm or malfunction and prior to cleaning and storing. Allow the kettle to cool down completely before cleaning and storing.
  11. Removing the power plug is the only way to separate the appliance completely from the power supply. Make sure the power plug is easily accessible.
  12. Disconnect from the power supply by pulling the power plug. Do not pull on the power cord.
  13. Do not plug in the power cord or operate the appliance with wet hands or when standing on a wet floor.
  14. It is normal for the plug to get warm while the appliance is being used. However, a loose fit between the plug and the outlet may cause overheating. If this occurs, try inserting the plug into a different outlet (socket). An adapter can be used for connecting three-blade, grounding-type plugs to 2-slot outlets (sockets). The grounding plug extending from the adapter must be connected to a permanent ground such as a properly grounded outlet box. The adapter should not be used if a three-slot grounded receptacle is available. If the connection is loose or the plug or outlet are damaged in any way, contact a qualified electrician. DO NOT DEFEAT THE SAFETY PURPOSE OF THE GROUNDED PLUG.
  15. For additional electrical safety, you are advised to use a residual current device (RCD / Safety Switch) with a tripping current not exceeding 30 mA in the household wall outlet supplying power to your appliance. Consult a qualified electrician if you are not sure how to proceed.

Before First Use

Operating Instructions

  1. Remove the kettle from its power base.
  2. Press the lid open button to pop up the lid.
  3. Fill the kettle with the desired amount of water. Ensure the water level is above the minimum marking (MIN 0.5L / 17 oz) and below the maximum marking (MAX 1.7L / 58 oz) on the water level window.
  4. Close the lid by pushing it firmly in place.
  5. Place the kettle on the power base, ensuring it is in the correct position.
  6. Plug the power cord into the wall socket.
  7. Press the ON/OFF switch down towards the 'I' marking to turn on the kettle. The switch illuminates when the kettle is on and turns off when the kettle is off. The kettle will switch off automatically when the water has boiled.
  8. To manually switch off the kettle at any time, lift the ON/OFF switch up towards the 'O' marking.
  9. Unplug the kettle from the wall socket when it is not in use.

CAUTION:

NOTE: Do not worry if moisture appears on the power base. It is condensation from the steam that is released to trigger the automatic off switch on the kettle.

Boil Dry Cut-Off Protection

If the kettle is accidentally switched on when empty or with insufficient water, the boil dry feature will automatically cut off the power supply. Lift the kettle from the power base and let it cool down before refilling it with water. Fill the kettle with water up to the MAX marking to reset the boil dry protection.

Avoid boiling the kettle dry to prevent damage to the appliance and shorten its lifespan.

CAUTION: Always unplug the appliance from the wall socket and let it cool down before cleaning. Do not immerse the kettle, power base, or power cord in water or other liquids. Never rinse them under the tap or expose them to moisture. Never use solvents, chemical or abrasive cleaning agents.

Cleaning and Care

General Cleaning

  1. Remove the kettle from the power base. Empty the kettle and rinse the inside thoroughly with water.
  2. Wipe the outside of the kettle and the plastic parts of the power base with a soft cloth moistened with water or mild detergent. Dry completely with a soft, dry cloth.

NOTE: Ensure that all connectors and sockets are kept dry.

Cleaning the Scale Filter

Depending on the hardness of the water in your area, scale present in tap water may give your drinking water a cloudy or white appearance. The scale filter in your kettle helps prevent scale particles from being poured into your drink. Clean the scale filter regularly, especially when there are visible mineral deposits and pouring is affected.

To clean the scale filter:

  1. Press the lid open button to open the lid.
  2. Insert your fingers into the kettle and remove the scale filter.
  3. Clean the scale filter with a soft brush under the tap and rinse thoroughly.
  4. Reattach the scale filter to the kettle after cleaning.

Descaling

Descale your kettle regularly to maintain efficient performance. Limescale and hard mineral deposits may build up inside the kettle over time, which slow down the boiling process.

To descale with a commercially available descaling solution:

To descale with white vinegar:

  1. Press the lid open button to open the lid.
  2. Insert your fingers into the kettle and remove the scale filter.
  3. Fill the kettle with 1L / 34 oz of water and boil.
  4. Add 0.7L / 24 oz of white vinegar so the liquid reaches the MAX marking. Do not boil.
  5. Immerse the scale filter in the vinegar solution.
  6. Leave the vinegar solution in the kettle overnight.
  7. Discard the vinegar solution the next morning and rinse the inside of the kettle thoroughly.
  8. Clean the scale filter with a soft brush under the tap and rinse thoroughly.
  9. Reattach the scale filter to the kettle after cleaning.
  10. Fill the kettle with fresh water up to the MAX marking. Bring to a boil and then discard the water. Repeat a few times.

Descale your kettle once every 3 months if you live in an area with soft water, or once every month if you live in an area with hard water. Regular descaling ensures proper function, product longevity and saves energy.
