PRODUCT SAFETY
It is very important that you and others remain safe.
We have provided many important safety messages in this manual and on your appliance. Always read and heed all safety messages. This symbol alerts you to a safety hazard that can cause death or injury to you or others.
All safety messages will be preceded by the safety alert symbol and a signal word, either “DANGER,” “WARNING,” or “CAUTION.”
DANGER means you must obey immediately the safety instructions to avoid death or serious personal injury.
WARNING means you must obey the safety instructions to avoid the possibility of death or serious personal injury.
All safety messages will tell you what the hazard is, how to reduce exposure to the hazard, and what can happen if the instructions are not followed.
IMPORTANT SAFETY MEASURES
When using electrical appliances, basic safety measures should always be followed, including the following:
- Read all instructions. Improper use of the appliance may cause injury.
- Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
- Do not immerse the appliance in any liquid. To prevent electric shock, do not immerse the cord, plug, or appliance in water or other liquids.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience or knowledge. Such persons may use the appliance only under supervision or after instruction by a person responsible for their safety. Keep children away from the appliance.
- For the European Union: This appliance is forbidden for children. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children.
- Exercise extreme caution when using any appliance near children.
- For the European Union: Persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge may use the appliance if they are supervised or have been given instructions regarding the safe use of the equipment and understand the associated risks. Children are forbidden to play with the appliance.
- Ensure children do not play with the appliance.
- If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced for safety reasons by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons.
- Unplug the appliance and disconnect it from the power supply when not in use, and before installing or removing parts, or cleaning the appliance. To disconnect the appliance from the mains, pull the plug from the socket. Never pull the cord.
- Unplug the plug from the socket when not in use, and before cleaning. Allow the appliance to cool down before installing or removing parts.
- Do not operate the appliance with a damaged power cord or plug, or in case of malfunction, or after it has been dropped or damaged. Bring the appliance to the nearest authorized service center for inspection, repair, or adjustment of the electrical or mechanical parts.
- Using accessories and parts not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may result in fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.
- Do not use the appliance outdoors.
- Do not allow the cord to hang over the edge of a table or counter or to come into contact with hot surfaces.
- Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
- Never leave the appliance unattended while it is operating.
- Always insert the plug into the appliance first, and then plug the cord into the outlet. To turn off the appliance, turn the switch to “0” and then remove the plug from the socket.
- When toasting pastries, always use the lowest browning setting.
- Use the appliance only for its intended purpose.
- To avoid the risk of fire or electric shock, do not place excessively large food items, foil-wrapped items, or household appliances in the toaster.
- If the toaster touches flammable materials, such as curtains, decorative fabric, walls, etc., while operating, or if such materials cover it, it may cause a fire.
- Do not attempt to remove food stuck in the toaster while the appliance is plugged in.
- The appliance cannot be operated using an external timer or a separate remote control system.
- Bread crumbs can burn, so do not use the toaster near flammable materials such as curtains.
- Before installing or removing parts, or cleaning the appliance, allow it to cool down completely.

- This appliance is intended for household use, including in: kitchens for staff in shops, offices, and other enterprises; farmhouses; hotels, motels, and other accommodation establishments (for customer use); establishments providing bed and breakfast services.

ELECTRICAL CHARACTERISTICS

NOTE: If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or a service agent for safety reasons. Do not use an extension cord. If the power cord is too short, contact a qualified electrician or service technician to install an outlet near the appliance.
USING THE PRODUCT
BEFORE FIRST USE
Before using the toaster, check the extra-wide bread slots and remove any packaging materials and paper that may have gotten inside during transport or servicing. Do not use a metal object to check the toaster slots.
Light smoke may appear during the first use of the toaster. This is normal. The smoke is harmless and will dissipate shortly.
To shorten the cord length, wind part of it around the cord holder on the bottom of the appliance. The toaster feet are high enough for the power cord to exit from under any side of the toaster.
USING THE TOASTER
WARNING

- Insert the toaster's power plug into a grounded outlet.
NOTE: Different bread types with different moisture levels require different browning settings. For example, dry bread will toast faster than moist bread. In such cases, set a moderate browning level.
- Select the browning level using the dial. Turn the dial to the right to increase the browning level, and to the left to decrease it. The indicator lights show the browning level from “1” (low) to “7” (high).
- Place bread slices or other items in the toaster slots.
NOTE: For even toasting in 2-slice models, toast only one type of bread and of the same thickness. When toasting slices of different types of bread or different thicknesses in 4-slice models that have two separate control sets, toast only one type of bread and of the same thickness in one pair of slots.
- Once you place a slice in at least one slot, the toaster will automatically lower them and start toasting. Some items may be too light to activate the automatic toasting mechanism. If the items do not lower after 3 seconds, press the TOAST/CANCEL (0) button to manually start the toasting cycle.
- (Optional) Press the desired special function button within 5 seconds. For more information, see the “Special Toasting Functions” section.
Do not store the sandwich rack in the toaster, and do not install it in the toaster immediately after toasting and removing the sandwich. Otherwise, a new toasting cycle will begin, which may lead to improper operation of the toaster.
USING THE PRODUCT (CONTINUED)
- Once the food is ready, the toaster will automatically lift it and signal. If the food is not removed from the toaster within 45 seconds, the toaster will activate the reheat mode.
- The toasting cycle can be stopped at any time by pressing the TOAST/CANCEL (0) button. The toaster will lift the toast and turn off.
CARE AND CLEANING
- Before cleaning the toaster, unplug it from the mains and allow it to cool down.
- Grasp the center of the crumb tray and remove it. Shake the crumbs into a waste bin. It is recommended to empty the crumb tray after each use of the toaster. The crumb tray should only be washed by hand.
CAUTION: The crumb tray will be hot immediately after the toasting cycle.
NOTE: If grease or oil gets on the toaster housing, wipe it immediately with a soft damp cotton cloth.
- Wipe the toaster with a soft damp cotton cloth. Do not use paper towels, abrasive, or liquid cleaning agents. Do not immerse the toaster in water.
- Install the crumb tray in the toaster. Press until it clicks. Do not use the toaster without the crumb tray installed.
NOTE: KitchenAid does not recommend covering the toaster.

PACKAGING MATERIAL DISPOSAL
The packaging material is recyclable and marked with the appropriate symbol [recycle-symbol]. The different parts of the packaging must be disposed of responsibly and in accordance with the regulations and rules of the local authorities responsible for waste management.
PRODUCT RECYCLING
This appliance is marked in accordance with EU and UK legislation and the EU Directive on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE). By ensuring this product is disposed of correctly, you will help prevent potential negative consequences for the environment and human health, which could otherwise be caused by inappropriate waste handling of this product.
The symbol [wheelie-bin-symbol] on the product or in the accompanying documents indicates that this appliance must not be disposed of with household waste; it should be handed over to a collection center for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment.

KITCHENAID WARRANTY TERMS (“WARRANTY”)
KitchenAid Europa, Inc., Nijverheidslaan 3, Box 5, 1853 Strombeek-Bever, Belgium (“Warrantor”) provides the Warranty to the end customer, who is a consumer, under the following terms.
This Warranty is additional and does not limit or affect the end customer’s statutory warranty rights that the seller of the product must provide.
1. SCOPE AND TERMS OF WARRANTY
- The Warrantor provides the Warranty for products specified in Section 1.b) purchased by the consumer from a seller or company belonging to the KitchenAid group of companies, in the territory of the European Economic Area, Moldova, Montenegro, Russia, Switzerland, Turkey, or Ukraine.
- The Warranty periods depend on the purchased product and are as follows: - Five years of full warranty from the date of purchase. - Additional accessories for stand mixers, blenders, toasters, food processors, kitchen machines, and immersion blenders: 2-year Warranty.
- The Warranty period begins on the date of purchase, i.e., the date the consumer purchased the product from a dealer or company belonging to the KitchenAid group of companies.
- The Warranty covers products without defects,
- The Warrantor provides the consumer with the following services under this Warranty at its sole discretion, if a defect occurs during the Warranty period: - repair of the defective product or its parts; - replacement of the defective product or its parts; if the production of the product has ceased, the Warrantor has the right to replace it with a product of equivalent or higher value.
- If the consumer wishes to file a claim under this Warranty, they must contact the KitchenAid service center in their country or the Warrantor directly. - The Warrantor pays for the repair, including spare parts and postage costs for delivering the defect-free product. The Warrantor also pays for the postage costs for returning the defective product or its parts, if the Warrantor or the KitchenAid customer service center in a particular country requests the return of the defective product or its parts. Please note that in case of return of a defective product or its parts, proper packaging is paid for by the consumer.
- To file a claim under this Warranty, the consumer must provide a receipt or invoice confirming the purchase of the relevant product.

2. WARRANTY LIMITATIONS
- The Warranty applies to products used for personal purposes only and does not apply to products used for professional or commercial purposes.
- The Warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, improper or unauthorized use, malfunctions resulting from failure to follow operating instructions, connecting the product to a power source with incorrect voltage, failure to comply with applicable electrical codes during installation or operation, or applying excessive force (e.g., impact).
- The Warranty does not cover products whose design has been altered. For example, if the product's operating voltage has been changed from 120 V to 220-240 V.
- If services are provided under this Warranty, the Warranty period is not extended. A new Warranty period also does not begin. The Warranty period for installed spare parts expires simultaneously with the Warranty period for the entire product.
- Further or other claims, including claims for compensation, will not be considered unless required by law.
