Introduction
Dear Customer, We are delighted that you have chosen the CLEANmaxx upholstery & rug cleaner. For any questions about the device, spare parts, or accessories, please contact the customer service department via our website: www.ds-group.de/kundenservice.
Information About the Operating Instructions: Before using the device for the first time, read these instructions carefully and keep them for future reference and other users. They are an integral part of the device. The manufacturer and importer are not liable for any issues arising from non-compliance with these instructions.

Check the supplied items for completeness and for any transport damage. Do not use the device if damaged; contact customer service. Remove any films, stickers, or transport protection. Never remove the rating plate or warning labels.
Note: Residues may be present in the fresh and dirty water tanks due to quality control checks; this does not indicate a defect.

Intended Use
This device is designed to remove light dirt from upholstery and rugs, and to freshen them up (e.g., sofas, car seats, small rugs, entrance rugs, floor mats). It is not a replacement for a conventional vacuum cleaner. Upholstery or rugs to be treated should be thoroughly vacuumed before using this cleaner.
The device is for personal, non-commercial use only. Use only as described in these instructions; any other use is considered improper.
Do not suck up the following:
- Glowing ash, cigarette ends, matches, etc.
- Flammable or explosive substances
- Very fine dust (e.g., concrete dust), ash, or toner
- Pointed, hard objects (e.g., large glass shards)
The warranty does not cover faults from incorrect handling, damage, or attempted repairs, nor normal wear and tear.
Safety Notices
WARNING: Observe all safety notices, instructions, illustrations, and technical data provided with this device. Failure to comply may result in electric shock, fire, or injuries.
This device can be used by children aged 8 and over, and by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental abilities, or lack of experience/knowledge, provided they are supervised or have received instruction on safe use and understand the associated dangers.
- Children must not play with the device.
- Cleaning and user maintenance must not be performed by children unless they are over 8 years old and supervised.
- Keep children under 8 years old and animals away from the device and its power cord.
- Always disconnect the device from the mains power when unattended, before assembly, disassembly, filling/emptying water tanks, or cleaning.
Electrical Safety:
- Never immerse the motor unit or connecting cable in water or other liquids. Ensure they cannot fall into water or get wet.
- Do not exceed the maximum tank capacity.
- Do not modify the device or replace the connecting cable yourself. Damaged parts must be replaced by the manufacturer, customer service, or a specialist workshop.
- DANGER - Danger of Electric Shock: Use and store only in closed rooms. Do not use or store in rooms with high humidity. If the motor unit falls into water while connected to mains power, immediately switch off the power supply before retrieving it. Never touch the motor unit or cable with wet hands when connected to mains power.
Fire Safety:
- WARNING – Danger of Fire: Do not cover the device during operation to prevent fire. Do not insert objects into ventilation openings and ensure they remain clear.
Injury Prevention:
- WARNING – Danger of Injury: Keep packaging material away from children and animals (suffocation hazard). Ensure the power cord is always out of reach of small children and animals (strangulation hazard). Lay the power cord to avoid tripping. Keep animals, hair, jewelry, loose clothing, fingers, and body parts away from the suction opening and nozzles, as they can get sucked in. If the device gets stuck, switch it off immediately.
Material & Property Damage Risk:
- Do not use if the device or its components are visibly damaged. Switch off immediately in case of damage/faults.
- Use only if fully and correctly assembled; tanks and filters must be inserted and undamaged. Dirt entering the motor unit can cause damage.
- Do not place heavy objects on the device or its components.
- Ensure the power cord is not pinched, kinked, laid over sharp edges, or in contact with hot surfaces.
- When unplugging, pull the plug, never the cable.
- Use only original manufacturer accessories to ensure proper function and prevent damage.
- Store only in closed rooms.
- Use and store at room temperature; avoid extreme temperatures or fluctuations.
- Protect from heat sources, flames, moisture, and impacts.
- Ensure the device does not tip over to prevent water leakage.
Attaching and Detaching Accessories
Handle Holder
The handle holder (10) stores the handle (6) of the hose when not in use. It must be attached before first use.
- Attaching: Slide the holder into the front fixture (Illustration B). Wind the suction hose clockwise around the device to place the handle in it.
- Detaching: Unwind the hose anticlockwise. Pull the holder upwards out of the fixture.
Dirty Water Tank
- Attaching: Insert the tank (16) via the guide rail into the mount (15). The locking catch (18) should engage audibly and tactilely.
- Detaching: Pull the locking catch away to release the lug.
- Opening and closing: Lift the closure tab (17) to open the lid. Ensure the lid's locking lugs engage in the tank recesses and the tab clicks securely when closing.
Fresh Water Tank
Before use, attach the water tank cap to the bottom of the fresh water tank.
- Attaching: Insert the tank (13) via the guide rail into the mount (3). The locking catch (14) should engage audibly and tactilely.
- Detaching: Pull the locking catch away to release the lug (Picture C).
- Opening and closing: Unscrew and remove the cap (11) from the bottom to open. Screw the cap back on tightly to close.
Nozzles
The nozzle with brushes (12) is for carpets. Its transparent cover can be removed for cleaning. The nozzle (9) is for upholstery (sofas, armchairs, car seats, etc.).
- Attaching: Slide the nozzle onto the handle (6). Ensure correct alignment for the locking button (7) to engage.
- Detaching: Firmly press the locking button on top of the handle and pull the nozzle off the hose.
- Nozzle with brushes cover: Lift the tab on top to detach the cover. Ensure it clicks securely when reattaching.
Filling the Fresh Water Tank
Please Note: The filling opening is on the bottom of the tank. Do not pour cleaning agent directly into the tank; spray it onto the surface to be cleaned if needed.
- Remove the fresh water tank (13) from the device. Turn it opening-upwards and open it (see 'Attaching and Detaching Accessories' – 'Fresh Water Tank').
- Fill with clean water (max. 40°C). Observe the MAX marking; do not overfill.
- Close and reinsert the tank.
Use
Please Note: Connect the mains plug only to a properly installed socket matching the device's technical data. The socket must be easily accessible for quick disconnection. Use only suitable extension cords with matching technical data. Observe the MAX marking on the dirty water tank to prevent motor overload (see 'Cleaning the Device' – 'Dirty Water Tank'). Clean filters regularly and replace if necessary.
- Attach accessories as per 'Attaching and Detaching Accessories'.
- Ensure the fresh water tank (13) is filled and both tanks are inserted into the motor unit (4).
- For heavy dirt, pre-spray the surface with cleaning agent and spread with a brush if needed, following the product's instructions.
- Unwind the power cord fully and plug into a socket.
- Press the [power button] button (2) to turn on the device.
- Press the spray button (8) on the handle to spray the surface.
- Move the nozzle gently over the surface. Dirty water is sucked into the dirty water tank (16).
- When the fresh water tank is empty or the dirty water tank is full, press the [power button] button to switch off. Then fill or empty the relevant tank (see 'Cleaning the Device' – 'Dirty Water Tank').
- Place the nozzle on a cloth, as residual water may drip after switching off.
- After use, empty the fresh water tank and reinsert it. Switch the device on again and press the spray button to remove excess water (Picture D).
- Press the [power button] button to switch off and unplug the device.
- After each use, fully empty and clean the tanks (see 'Cleaning the Device').
Cleaning the Device
Please Note: Ensure no liquid enters the motor unit during cleaning. Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaning agents.
- Wipe the motor unit (4) with a damp soft cloth if needed, then dry.
- Filters are located under the dirty water tank (Picture E) and fresh water tank (Picture F) in the motor unit. They can be removed, rinsed with clear water, and air-dried.
Dirty Water Tank
- Detach the dirty water tank (16) from the motor unit (4) and open it (see 'Attaching and Detaching Accessories' – 'Dirty Water Tank').
- Empty water into a drain.
- Rinse the tank and lid thoroughly with clear water.
- Allow all parts to air dry before reassembly.
Fresh Water Tank
- Detach the fresh water tank (13) and open it (see 'Attaching and Detaching Accessories' – 'Fresh Water Tank').
- Empty the tank completely.
- Allow all parts to air dry before reassembly.
Nozzles
- Remove hair and fluff from the brush.
- Detach the nozzle with brushes (12) cover (see 'Attaching and Detaching Accessories' – 'Nozzles').
- Rinse nozzles (9, 12) and the brush nozzle cover with clear water.
- Allow all parts to air dry.
Hose
Rinse the suction hose with handle regularly to remove cleaning agent residue:
- Connect accessories (see 'Attaching and Detaching Accessories').
- Pour clean water into a container and suck it up (see 'Use').
- Dismantle all accessories and air dry them.
Storage
- Wrap the suction hose (5) around the device and place the handle (6) in the handle holder (10).
- Store the device and accessories in a cool, dry place, protected from direct sunlight, and out of reach of children and animals.
Troubleshooting
If the device malfunctions, try to resolve the issue yourself. If problems persist, contact customer service. Do not attempt to repair electrical devices yourself!
The device does not start.
- Mains plug not inserted correctly: Ensure it is seated properly.
- Socket is defective: Try another socket.
- No mains voltage: Check the fuse in the electrical distributor (fuse box).
- Overheating protection triggered: Unplug the device and let it cool down completely before trying again.
Performance is too weak.
- Dirty water tank (16) is too full: Empty the tank.
- Suction opening / nozzle is blocked: Switch off the device and remove the blockage.
Dirty water is not properly sucked up.
- Dirty water tank (16) is full: Empty the tank.
- Suction opening / nozzle is blocked: Switch off the device and remove the blockage.
No water emerging from nozzles.
- Spray button (8) not pressed: Press the spray button on the handle to activate spraying.
- Fresh water tank (13) is empty: Fill the tank.
- Suction hose not correctly attached/connected: Check and correct all connections.
- Nozzles are blocked: Switch off the device and remove the blockage.
A strange odour is produced.
The device is new. A new odour is normal for the first use and will disappear over time.
Disposal
Dispose of packaging material environmentally responsibly at a collection point. The symbol of a crossed-out bin with a line underneath means used devices must not be disposed of with household waste but taken to specific collection and return systems. Owners of used devices from private households can return them free of charge to public waste disposal collection points or manufacturer/distributor return points as per the Electrical Equipment Act. Shops selling electrical and electronic equipment are also obliged to take back used devices.
