Electronic Burner Control
The electronic controller manages the burner and flame, preventing unburnt gas build-up. The thermostat indicator light shows flame status (on/off). Flame can be viewed through holes in the burner cover.
Ignition and Response to Ignition Failure:
The controller attempts ignition up to 2 times. If flame is not detected, ignition turns off, followed by a 90-second delay. Controls are unresponsive during this delay. After the delay, turn controls off for 5 seconds before re-attempting ignition.
Response to Flame Failure:
If flame is not detected, the controller attempts re-lighting up to 3 times. If unsuccessful, the burner shuts off. A 90-second delay follows before controls are responsive again. Follow the same procedure as ignition failure.
Recognising a Safety Shut-Down Condition:
If the thermostat light is on but the flame is not, a safety shutdown has occurred. A 90-second delay applies before controls are responsive. Turn controls off for at least 5 seconds after the delay.
Power Failure:
After power restoration, the burner will not ignite if controls were left on. Grill element may resume heating on non-electronic clock models. To resume operation, turn controls off for at least 5 seconds. If the appliance has an electronic clock, reset the time of day.
Solving Problems
Faults:
Check the following before calling for service:
